    The westside philosophy is unmatched and unlike no other, by following Louis principals every lift of mine has grown tremendously, I owe a great deal to westside and Louie himself. I highly suggest people finding out more and lifting via his teaching you will not regret it.

    all the people in the comments that are saying that Louie is “fat” and that’s why he shouldn’t be giving advice is #1 obviously does not lift or knows nothing about the fundamentals of physique and #2 not well informed in the world of strength training and powerlifting and are therefore unsuccessful were they to try it themselves. This man is one, if not the most, revered coaches/trainers ever. His deadlift/bench/squats is absolutely insane. He’s not fat, he has a shit ton of muscle under all that and they reason why he appears fat is because of the amount he has to eat in order to retain his size, and in turn, his strength. Dumbasses

      Yes unfortunately that I'm many morons out there that are too worried about their Sergio Tacchini suit or their Nike sweatsuit making sure it matches their headband wristband and sneakers those are usually the people that make those sort of comments same people who workout for a pump they do chest six times a week and biceps 10 times a week no need to do legs you wear pants no one's going to see those the morons that say that Louie is fat and the guys that train with him are out of shape they should go to Westside or at least try to do a work out the way they do it but that would be impossible because that would require intelligence research and pushing yourself to your limits you can Cloud your pathetic brain with those sort of things when you're worried about the pump or what clothes you wear to the gym or if you eat enough chicken breast that day it's sad to see that they're still so many people working out the old school way with no sort of scientific facts or physics apply to their workouts... in the words of Louie Simmons read a book guys to read a f****** book

      He has a powerful core. Like all the strongman people and some powerlifters. They have 50 inch waists but it's all a solid brick.

      Louie is a phenomenal strength coach and I've seen terrific strength gains using some of his methods. Do speed work and use chains,bands or both and no matter where you are starting from,male or female you will see incredible gains in strength.

      Sheiko is the "other" professor of powerlifting, with more technical knowledge and research, yet he hasn't even lifted in the past. Both have vast expanses of knowledge. A great lifter isn't always going to be a great coach either.

    "don't try to beat other people, try to beat your damn self"
    With conjugate there's a whole new meaning to this - if you try to beat this or that guy's special exercise PR, you may be neglecting the special exercise you really need to improve your total.

    Incredible info! Before I actually found this information, I had a suspicion that my bench was lacking because of my triceps. I started training triceps with lots of dumbell work and close grip high reps for speed (what louie is calling speed work). My bench went up within 3 weeks!

    experience plus physics is a deadly combination for lifting, obviously its nice to hear someone that has experience explaining what he has learned over his life time, the physics u gotta spend time on that by yourself Newtonian physics should be enough, torque would be nice but its harder

    5:30... reverse bands with 200lbs of chain? That does not make sense to me?
    Would the two not just cancel each other out??

    • @davidmb3376

      jos. k no. They both make the weight lighter in the bottom and heavier at the top. So it would just very heavily emphasize lockout

    Like knows what he is talking about. I teach and Coach football in highschool. Around August or September I couldn't do 315. I hit my triceps real hard during September, and I benched 350 on November 6th with ease. Train your triceps people, it works.

    • @rishabhkashyap690

      No. You can only if you run out of plates to load on the bar.

    • @DixonDeadlifts
      @DixonDeadlifts 6 років тому +1

      Yes you can. It's another variation of a bench press. That's the entire principal of Conjugate; use a variety of excercises to aid a specific lift or movement.

    Can someone explain to me why the fat guy, who is so unathletic and out of shape, is shamelessly explaining the proper way to be athletic?

    • @neuromancer27
      @neuromancer27 11 років тому +12

      He was and he is still a fantastic athlete don't judge by the appearances, and he is a weightlifter not a bodybuilder, but who cares about his shape since he has the experience ?

    • @MrMauchael
      @MrMauchael 11 років тому +19

      you are a fool... read his work before you judge a man who has almost 2000lb in three compound lifts and 30+ years of experience in powerlifting

    • @MechanicPat
      @MechanicPat 11 років тому +12

      You should probably go to westside and ask him yourself...see if he seems "unathletic and out of shape" in person.

    • @carbideblue
      @carbideblue 10 років тому

      'Athletic' in powerlifting is not the same as 'athletic' in soccer. Think about it. Just like Bruce Lee being so small and thin, yet packing the power in his kick to send a huge muscular guy flying or close to it....

    • @davidsirmons
      @davidsirmons 9 років тому +1

      Bruce Lee He doesn't explain athleticism. He explains power development. Look into his powerlifting records: he squatted over 900lbs in competition. He still deadlifts 600+, benches over 500 and squats 700.
