They're going to rethread the "Wolf in sheep clothing" plotline that has been done for the billionth time . The nice family being the secret villains is so predictable.
@@poweredsoldier538 I think that trope would be better than the one we'll get. Outside forces are going to force the bettermans to leave their sheltered life and join the croods family unit/pack. There will be a b and c story that contribute to this decision only leaving both families stronger than ever.
That's the general gist and that is even more common than "obvious but meant to be secret villains". Plus secret villains is more Disney and pixar territory. Dreamworks is usually more about growing a larger community

The visuals are gorgeous. That's one thing I can definitely say. I honestly might watch this movie.
I've actually been thinking about the first one getting a sequel, and here we are.
This was my childhood.
I don't think the family are twist villains, they're probably fake villains for the first half of the movie, who maybe did something bad prior to the Croods showing up, so they lose their trust. But at the end of the film, all is well between the families. And also torwards the end of the film, the actual antagonist (likely figurative) is revealed
