Hi Ian! Great question! The colored buttons operate advanced DVR functions and cannot be programmed to open the different apps on your Roku TV. If your remote has one or more APP hotkeys, then the remote's APP hotkey is automatically set to work with the APP key your Roku TV prioritizes as first. For example, if you've programmed your remote to operate your Roku TV, and if Roku prioritizes Netflix as the first streaming APP followed by Amazon as the second, etc., then the remote's APP or APP1 hotkey will take you to Netflix, and the APP2 hotkey will take you to Amazon. However, it all depends on which streaming APPs Roku prioritizes as first, second, third, etc. I hope this information is helpful to you. No code list came with my remote. It also doesn't have a CL code in the battery slot. It says it's a universal remote so I don't see why it shouldn't have either of these things.

Whenever you get a chance, could you please let us know the model number of your remote? It should be listed on the package and noted in the manual. The model number will start with three letters and end in /27 or /37. As far as the CL version number, it should be printed (usually pretty small print) in the battery compartment under the batteries or on the underside of the battery cover. If it's not there, I'd recommend you refer to the CL6 code list when looking up your codes online at byjasco.com/remotecodes. I find this remote hard to set up with my 3 devices. 1. Apple TV4K 2. Visio SB2821-D6 Soundbar 3. Visio TV.
