I am an OIF vet, and I told my kids and nephews not to join the military! If our country is in danger of being invaded, then fight for your country. But we are only fighting wars for the power of a few elites!
Hot damn... I've been saying that for the longest. Finally a person sees what I see. My father served I'm Vietnam. He said you will not go into the military. Go to College or university but he'll with the military. If war breaks out you will just be fighting a white elites man war and you are just a pawn on a chessboard. Good post sir. I wish more can see how we see it. Matter of facts it should be taught in schools.instead of that grooming BS Rotc clubs.
I assume if they don't speak a lick of English, up to 5 words or a few words, then many months or years of ELD classes for them to likely speak broken English, and likely for most of them, only understanding like 5%, 10%, a quarter of the commands being yelled at in English if they're terrible students
I had a bunch of leaders great NCO’s with English as a second language. First sergeant’s sergeants major’s. The military can mold anyone into a good human being.
They most likely can’t. If they don’t speak ANY English, they most likely are not legal or have a green card. Most, that have a green card have been in the states and have a decent English vocabulary. - Texas Army Recruiter

So ask this how long they stay in military after they get there citizenship and one enlisted one who gets that not there families. And if war break out not a lot of them see citizenship at all
If the purpose of War is to re-establish the peace joining the American Military isn’t a good choice. Military life for a teenager is a fairly good idea. I did it myself. Join the British Military,ie the Falklands. We Americans are not very good at War. I site Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan. Try the French or German militaries. Their NATO too. More focused Leadership and they seem to actually care about their troops. Consider the choice…..Vietnam Vet USN
