Welcome to TGIF365! 🚐 Join us on a nostalgic journey down memory lane as we take a detour to Cleveland, TN, a place steeped in the rich history of the Church of God and the Church of God of Prophecy. 🕊️ If you have roots in these congregations, you're in for a trip filled with sentimental moments.
For many years, the Church of God of Prophecy held its annual general assemblies at the iconic tabernacle in Cleveland. Kelly and I, both deeply connected to the church, have fond memories of these gatherings. As a pastor's kid, the general assembly was not just an event but a yearly reunion with family and friends from across the country. While others vacationed at popular spots, our annual getaway was spent soaking in the spirit of the assembly, creating enduring memories.
In this video, we reflect on the past, sharing stories of the assembly's impact on our lives. The assembly served as our unique family vacation, forging friendships at camp and eagerly anticipating reunions each year. As life moved on, circumstances changed, and we transitioned away from the church, the memories of those assemblies remained etched in our hearts.
Returning to Cleveland, we were met with mixed emotions as we discovered that the cherished tabernacle had been demolished. The realization that a significant chapter of our lives had come to an end was bittersweet. However, we found solace in the fact that the White Wing Publishing House, operating as a gift shop, stood as a reminder of the past.
Come along on this emotional journey with us, exploring the remnants of our cherished memories and finding unexpected treasures in the heart of Cleveland. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit that notification bell to join us on future adventures! 🌟 #TGIF365 #MemoryLane #ChurchOfGod #ClevelandTN #nostalgiatrip

Such a great detour to take and see your past! I loved watching what you guys got to see and the memories associated with your past. I think there is more videos that you guys should make to expand more upon the Church through your own eyes. Thank you so much for sharing! 🙏🏻 ❤

@@heydavis4168 That's a good idea. I am still friends with many people who grew up as pastor kids. I have thought about getting them to share life as a pastor kids in the church and what it was like.

@@tgif3657 I think that would be fabulous! People just want “real” in today’s fake society. And what is more real than real experiences within the Church while adding to the allure, love, and experiences of the history there. 😎👍

My family attended General Assembly as far back as I can remember. The first ones were held in Chattanooga at a big facility. Then it moved to the building in Cleveland that was so nice and belonged to the church or so it seemed. It was a time of reunion for me and my friends that I had made through the years. It was so precious to greet friends from all over not just the country but the world! Great memories 🥰

Excuse me for asking, but was Bishop Neal Pettit ever a member at Hoyt St church in Indianapolis?
