Great cards, Mindy! An alternative for those of us who don't have baby wipes is a damp paper towel. I did this technique for the OCC class (I was a student in that), & used a paper towel for each of my panels. If you use a brand that has a select-a-size roll (rather than full sheet), you don't even have to cut the sheet in 2. The first one I did, I think I wrung out the towel more, because I didn't have any seepage of ink/water when I ran it through my die cutting machine. The second one the towel was wetter (I think), & did make a mess! Each worked well for the final panel, though, so you don't need a paper towel or baby wipe that is super wet. Anyway, just thought I'd share. I love how the Rustic Wilderness came out. The other more teal one is awesome, too. Thanks for sharing. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
I saw this video on your Blog Hop for SSS, but had to bounce over here to give it a THUMBS UP! Love, love, love your card and I'm going to try this technique today for a couple of cards I need to make. Thanks for so much inspiration and clear instructions. I wish they had a "two thumbs up" button!
This technique looks difficult but it’s actually not! Thank you for teaching a new technique. I like the two green cards but the darker one calls to me.
Mindy, dust off or use a blower (like the Tim Holtz one) and use it on the toner with the sentiment and the side of the foil that is touching the paper. Sometimes you get specks and that is from dust. Really pretty card, I will have to try this.
Amazing! I have the big shot so I am hoping it will work with that. I just can not thank you enough as well as so many other of my favourite card maker teachers! You work so hard to do these videos for us and still work your regular lives! I am so appreciative! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I'm sure it will work with any die cut machine - you just need to know the sandwich to use. Unfortunately i do not have a big shot so I don't know that one .
I would love to see this side by side with the stencil used with ink and brushing technique. This technique is interesting but I’m afraid it is potentially messy especially when using the diecut machine
Wow, what a great technique. I really loved the card with the Lucky Clover color. Thanks for the tip on where to place the intricate die. I have problems sometimes and they don't want to cut all the way through.
Thank you for this tip! I want to tey it right away. I have a Spellbinders Platinum 6. But, I wonder if this technique would work using a rolling pin, on a protected surface, still using the rubber mat.
Watercolor paper, since it has a texture, might be harder to saturate with ink by rubbing the inkpad over it. Though painting with watercolors, watered-down ink, etc., might work with that. Of course then, you would have to tape your paper to a hard surface/board first to keep it from warping, then leave it taped until it dries. Otherwise, I think the stencil embossing would be more difficult. For using ink pads, maybe try smooth bristol paper or even smooth mixed media paper like Strathmore, if you want a cardstock alternative. :)
Absolutely gorgeous!, thanks for sharing I don't have regular distress inks just full sets of Distress Oxides, original formula Simon Says Stamp, GinaK, Archival, Tsuienko Versafine and some Altenew sets would this technique work with any of the aforementioned?
The Distress Oxides should work, as they are also water-reactive. You just might get a different look, as they tend to be chalkier than the original Distress inks. Gina K inks (except their Almagam ones) are also water reactive. I'm not sure about Altenew, but the Simon original inks, Archival (any brand), & Versafine are all waterproof (or at least water-resistant). So those would not work. Hope this helps! :)
@@andrealavigne7824 Thanks you so much! I didn't even realise the GinaK were water reactive, or that the Simon's were water resistant . This is great to know. Have a Happy Easter!
I have never tried that. This is the first time using a baby wipe with a stencil i think. I've used baby wipes for stamping though which is pretty cool :-)
@@MindyEggenDesign The baby wipe had the embossing design on it with the ink color. I thought it would be similar to using tissue paper I just tried it and mounted the baby wipe on on black layer on a while card base. the embossing folder I used was Mermaid stencil by GK. I used a mossy green and it turned out really nice. Thanks for sharing your idea.

That you for posting that...I was wondering why you'd specifically need a baby wipe when water should work too...and you kindly confirmed my guess!

probably one of the cleanest techniques I've done honestly lol ....

great idea! worth a try
incredible! tfs- wonder how Oxides would look and using WC paper.
give it a try! I would go for a pretty dark color but I think it would give a cool effect :-)

Mindy, Have you tried this with Gemini? I am wondering what sandwich to use? Nice cards!
I'm sorry - i do not have a gemini anymore so I do not know the sandwich
Thank you, no problem, I will figure it out.
Mindy have you ever used the baby wipe after you dry them and use on a card. Is that a possiblity. Mine look cool with the mermaid stencil I used.??
