The SWIFT code is used for sending money to overseas banks. A Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication code is an eleven-digit code, in which the first 4 digits denotes bank then next two digits denotes country and next two digits are for location code, last 3 digits are branch code. The swift code is also known as Bank Identifier Code or BIC.

Hi , Can you please assist me to answer this query : is there any mechanism placed by Bank while doing digital/bank transaction for below listed scenario.
During financial year, from foreign bank account to home/saving account, what is the max amount of all together transaction set by BANK in india . (For Indian residents, not for NRI)
And if such max amount limit gets crossed, then Bank triggers/reports a note to Income tax Dept about that total amount of transaction.

Usually Indian bank does not mentioned BIC code in passbooks instead they mentioned IFSC code. Now BIC and IFSC code both are of 11 digits and first four digit of both BIC and IFSC code is bank name in abbreviated form e.g. SBIN for State bank of India. but IFSC code does not contain country code of 5th 6th digit but as per the standard for BIC 5th and 6th digit will always indicate country code. Usually IFSC code contains branch number or branch name like BARB0UJJAIN it is IFSC code for bank of Baroda , Ujjain Branch. if Bank of Baroda Ujjain branch have any BIC code then it would be like BARBINUJUJN ( This is just an example ) where BARB is bank name , IN is country code, UJ is City code, and UJN is Branch code.

SWIFT MT 103 is used for Single Customer Credit transfer. Let me give you example : if you initiate one payment from you account to other bank account then after receiving instruction from you , your bank will generate MT103 and send it to other bank for processing. MT103 is used only for customer transfer. ( From your account to customer account of other bank.) but some time bank themself need to transfer money among their suspense account like NOSTRO, VOSTRO account for that bank uses MT202 message. Money using MT202 is not trasnferreda among customer account rather , bank's own suspense account. GPI is new initiative by SWIFT where bank , if they are GPI member, need to send the different statuses of the payment to bank who has initiated the payment. This is a very high level example cause GPI is so vast and can not be explain here.
