getting to the C's must be like that time when we were learning the basic things of the language for the first time, those things we didn't use to understand at all, but over time, we were able to get over. You just get used to it, of course it doesn't happen without effort, however, it's possible to get it done, thanks Alejo, I love these videos.

I enjoy a lot every single video of the Alejo's Show, in that moment is when you actually notice your listening skills (that is the most difficult part of learning English to my opinion)..About the comfort zone now I got it why I understand perfectly some people and with others it is not the same even talking the same situation, obviously the accent plays a huge role in this but, it is time to challenge myself a little bit more.

Hola Alejo felicitaciones... anque sé que hablaron despacio de tal manera que aquellos que no tenemos nivel de ingles, entendieramos algo. Soy una persona que actaulmente vive en Asia y me vine sin saber decir una palabra de Ingles, gracias a Dios conseguí un trabajo con unas personas hispanohablantes, pero dentro de mi trabajo he tenido que aprender el Ingles, ya que en el diario no estoy con personas que hablen Español y por mi cuenta he tratado de aprender el Ingles y ahí voy. Como ustedes decían no hay que estar en zona de confort y estoy tratando leer en este momento, alguien sabe de un libro que hable sobre fútbol base que me recomiende y pueda empezar a leer? Gracias Alejo un Colombiano más seguidor tuyo!
AMigazo super, te recomiendo esucchar minimo 10 minutos de un podcast en ingles, vas a ver como te mejorará tu nivel

According to a test that I made online I'm in B2 but I was able to understand everything that you said but the point is that I don't know grammar rules and for that reason my English is not so wellI don't know how to improve my English skills. Could you give me an advice?
Your English is actually better than you think and you it's not compulsory for you learn grammar rules formally and judging by your writing you have a good grasp of English grammar unknowingly. I'm not an expert but I took the IELTS and it turns out my English is already at the C1 level and my listening and reading skills are closer to the C2 level than to the C1 level (Band 8.0 in those and Band 7.5 overall) and my advice would be to keep on doing what actually made you reach that level. However it's worth pointing out that on top of that you should move up the notch by reading books whose target audience is native English speakers as well as watching TV series , movies , the news , podcasts and videos in English , anything of your liking so that it doesn't feel forced but that it's something you're having fun with. You should also keep the consistency so after some time (be it 5, 6 , 9 months , etc) you can track your progress and see how far you've come.
By immersing yourself through reading you'll learn quite a lot of words without studying grammar rules the old-fashioned, boring and ineffective way. You may even become an avid reader :) who knows.
My English level was B2 about a year ago but by changing a little bit the things up you'll continue improving. I reached plateau at the B2 level and got stuck in it for a long while (2 years with little progress) so I decided to go all in and watch tv series and read books in English and I managed to break through the plateau and finally reached a low C1 level within 7 months.
Saludos desde Colombia , el inglés al principio es fácil pero llegar a nivel avanzado es difícil , te lo digo yo que nunca he ido a un país que hablen inglés , ni nunca he ido a una academia , sólo de pura inmersión y ya llevo varios años aprendiendo inglés :) , buena suerte.
Yo aveces me entusiasmo por aprender bien inglés pero luego se me pasa cuando sé que mi situación no está al nivel para poder ir a Estados Unidos o algún otro país de ni siquiera aquí en América latina😞
Hey extraño, se que va a sonar sentimental esto pero quiero decirte de que eso no importa en lo absoluto, muchos de nosotros (Latinos) estamos economicamente mal y es casi imposible viajar al extranjero, sin embargo eso no te impide aprender Ingles tu puedes hacerlo con el simple hecho de practicar todos los dias y no dejarte guiar tanto por la gramatica y como enseñan en el aula de clases, algo que influyo sumamente en mi aprendizaje fue hablar solo conmigo mismo e inventar historias en mi cabeza, también descarga juegos y apps que sean Spanish-English haslo a diario y eventualmente verás resultados
(soy Latino y fluido en Ingles sin viajar nunca al extranjero).
Aprendí ingles y nunca eh ido a estados unidos, btw soy de republica Dominicana,

mark gutierritos, sabes qué? el entusiasmo es lo primero que debes tener para aprender y avanzar en la vida, en cualquier cosa que te propongas para mejorar. No importa si hoy no tienes un nivel alto o avanzado de Inglés, eso viene con la práctica y con los años. Aún si no naciste en un país anglosajón siempre el problema del acento va a estar presente. Pero eso tampoco es excusa para no estudiar o mejorar cualquier idioma que quieras o te interese aprender. Si comienzas hoy mismo imagina lo lejos que puedes llegar y las puertas que se te pueden abrir en la vida solamente con el Inglés! Ya sabes Español, que es tu primer idioma, luego un segundo idioma (Inglés) y así un tercero después, etc. El límite te lo pones tú. Llegué a este país hace 10 años con un nivel de Inglés mucho menor que el más básico y hoy gracias a Dios la historia es diferente. Ánimo que sí se puede!! Saludos y bendiciones desde Canadá. 🙏🙌🇨🇦

Estimado, soy latino también. Aprendí Inglés en algún cursillo corto por ahí en mi país de origen (siendo adolescente), afiné mi oído escuchando canciones en Inglés, viéndo películas en Inglés con subtítulos también en Inglés, puse mi computador en Inglés, etc.
Creí que era muy difícil salir de mi país (nada de plata, sólo tenía las ganas), pero el sólo hecho de tener un nivel medio de Inglés hizo una gran diferencia. Gracias a Dios, un día me llegó una oferta de trabajo que no esperaba. Ahora vivo y trabajo desde hace muchos años en Norteamérica. El Inglés hizo la diferencia.
Los latinos le tenemos terror al ridículo, por eso nos cuesta hablar Inglés u otro idioma, creemos que: "porque va a sonar mal". Nada de eso, por lo menos se está intentando. Así es que, nada de temores, lánzate a la piscina!!
Tu situación actual no será para siempre tampoco. Lo peor es no intentarlo hoy y nunca saber hasta donde podrías haber llegado. Dale, ánimo!!👍
Yo estoy en B2 pero para sacar el First de Cambridge. Porque hay otro B2 para el PET creo. Se me hace difícil en algunos casos.

Hi Alejo: the story at the beginning of the show is true and very sad that many people from different nationalities and languages, and they are not interested in learning English and they develop their entire life in their own communities. They have the opportunity to learn and practice every single moment this beautiful language, but they waste that chance. I'm not criticizing, but it is something very common. It is sad and kind of annoying at the time. Then they are always looking for an interpreter when they are in troubles.
It's very important to learn the language of the country that welcomed us. We have to show our respect speaking their language... it's just my opinion!
Yes Mercedes, I guess It wasn´t important for the part of the city they lived in. In new Jersey there are many places full of mexicans for example, they all talk spanish among them, stores and pharmacies as well so they do not need English even though they live In america. I guess that´s what it is
