@@LyroLife not very good. I was making it with a stepper motor and was fixated with gear ratios. My stepper had 400 steps for full rotation and the Hall effect pot had 12 bit resolution. Then the stepper driver that could do 1/2^n steps. That means the gear ratio had to be something 2^n/25. I couldn’t buy gears without spending large amounts of money. 3D printing gears made the servo huge. So I scrapped it for a different hall effect sensor with a more compatible resolution with the stepper and used a timing belt system.

How can I get one to correct its self when I let go of the remote? As r=+90°, c=0°, l=-90°. To correct its self back to center (0°) from either right or left 90° by just a 2 wire + and - input?
I hope to understand your question. Into video is not explained how to rephase the 0° position. I fixed a servo of my brother when crashed the internal gear. You must find with multimeter the 0 ohm resistance on potentiometer and then reassembly the gear. This potentiometer is fully rotation without mech stop but have the 0 ohm position on center.

There is a motor to drive the gears and a potentiometer that reads angles on the axel of the exposed gear. Higher end pots will give higher angle resolution. Servos have a built in closed loop system that controls the motor. PWM waves are typically used to tell the controller the angle you want the servo to hold. For example, Hitec uses a 20ms period with 3 to 5 volt pulses with a duration of .9 ms (0 degree angle) to 2.1 ms (180 degree angle). The larger the gear ratio the more torque the servo will have. Since, I commented on this 2 years later you probably know all of this 😁.
@Usama Khan So I can rewire one with just a + and - input to get it to come back to 0° from a 90° right or left by releasing the remote? Let me rephrase this. I dont have the circuitry on the reciever for a three wire connection, just + and -. I would like to rewire a servo so that by releasing the remote from a 90° position it will correct its self back to 0° position. The servo will be replacing a motor that ran clockwise and counter clockwise and stopped when released. This can be done, right?
@Usama Khan No. I dont want it to do that. This thing used to be a helicopter with dual opposing rotors on the same shaft but with a prop that controlled forward and backward from the tail, rather than the yaw. Anyways, it was a propellar that spun both ways. I wanted to replace it with a servo that leveled itself out, for an elevator and make a plane out of it all. I was hoping there was some way i could either connect a new wire to put a servo in, or convert a servo itself. If any of that makes sense. 😆
@Usama Khan I think it does. L=90°, C=0°, R=90°. And it returns to center on release. 45° gives it half power progressivly. I was even considering replacing it with a CD-Rom. Motor and lens carrier. It might be hard to control, but its going to be a bigger than average rc plane.
Absolutly no way understanding how such a servo runs with this vidéo ! As long the servo amplifyer job is not even explained , you can't teach anything by only giving good 3D images . It needs some more than alway " easy & nice " trips to understand what does what & how .
Its not the only video on youtube explaining this. There's others that explain it. Of course he could have stopped the animation to explain the chips circuitry. But then someone will gripe about not explaining what resistance is or "whats a volt?" Its just a basic explanation of the components in a servo, thats all.
Animation excellent! Explanation vague. Can servos be made to rotate 360 degrees for more than one revolution. Or are they used for those +90 & -90 degree rotations only? Leaves a majority of questions unanswered.
