- My favorite defense fighting the Queen's Gambit! If you need something against main line d4 openings, look no further, and start playing this.

The Semi-Slav is the perfect defense; solid but with tons of counterplay, it can be imbalanced and interesting or symmetrical or boring, it could lead to many different pawn structures, and, most importantly, black has a chance to play aggressively and for a win regardless what white does.
In this game it was a Quiet Slav, in which my opponent didn't play the theoretical continuation which would have won the bishop pair, so I basically got a good London System with black and didn't have any issues.

Thanks for the game Stjepan! I felt nervous playing, knowing it would be on youtube. A nice fighting game, you earned that win 💯and will be 2400 in no time 💪
Thanks mate. BLundered it away in the endgame though. Why didn't you go for a draw when you had a forced line?
@@HangingPawns I misjudged the position and thought I could play on with Qc8+ , but that simply loses. Should have taken the draw indeed.
Thanks for the thriller both of you :)
Very happy you're posting your videos more regulary again!
Can't wait to see more your content!
agree!
Cheers. Will be posting daily for a while now.
Maybe it's too big a task, but I'd like to see a series on how openings evolved, starting with the romantic era. It could be about opening theory generally, or how specific openings changed over time. I'm not sure what the best approach would be, but one might be focusing on games that have key moments with new ideas. I think putting things in context this way could give some insight that's otherwise hard to obtain.
49:04 was some interesting audio.
Great game! Certainly felt like fighting chances for both sides right up till the very end.
finally a training game !! i've been waiting for this👍👍👍 nice video n good luck for your channel 👍👍
at 34.00 bishop takes pawn. If pawn recaptures then qe1 check wins back the bishop on his last rank but one move too late
Well played. In the endgame Bb4 seemed a bit careless because it was always going to lose a tempo to Kc4.
I saw 34...Bxf4 35.exf4 Qe1+ 36.Kh2 d2 but I didn't calc much after that. I never know when to calculate what. thanks for these videos!
Hi, I was trying to find videos on these sorts of positions, I guess it is Slav, do you have videos on it or are they on Patreon?
There are two full Slav and Semi-Slav playlists. You can find them on the channel.
