Great painting, you have given some more videas for my knights. I use Speed Paints to provide different effects on metal and white barding as a different contrast effect. (Holy White and silver briadsword metallics.) Coat d'arms do some wonderful horse colour paints that work really well.
No, at a minimum I’ll do Knights of Santiago since I have a bunch of transfers for them, but it gets a little tiring painting a bunch of off-white barding to be honest. I think I’m going to expand out into some classical Western Knight iconography for the next unit, maybe do some famous Bretonnian colors for another, etc.
If possible, would you consider comparing the scale of reconquer designs 3d prints vs boxed set minis like Victrix and WGA? I’m currently making a siege diorama and I’ve been printing and using a lot of reconquer designs minis but would love to mix with some boxed sets, I’m just not sure if there is too big of a size difference (mainly proportions)
I’ll have to see if I can get ahold of some Reconquer Design sculpts, I don’t have any in my collection. I’ve seen some in person that was basically the same size as my Victrix stuff, however with 3D prints I’m never sure if things were rescaled from the default.
@@Dan-ds8sf ok thanks I think I'm going to get victrix stuff anyway since they look really cool. If you're interested in having some of the reconquer minis I can look at printing and mailing some over.
They look good,a great tutorial with an excellent finish
Loved how this turned out brother ... nice description of how it's done ... need all them tips 🤘❤️👍🔥
Thanks as ever, my friend!
Great job on iconic units!
Nice painting!

Yeah I’ve been meaning to pick up some speed paints to compare to contrasts, especially for more difficult colours like white and yellow.
Awesome! Are you going to try to hit all orders?

@@Dan-ds8sfif it proves difficult to get some on your end I can look at printing and mailing some to you, if you’d like. Anyway thanks for the reply!

Ate you using extenders to water down the paints or just plain water? I find the pigment tend to fall away with such a 50/50 mix on normal paints.
Just water, I haven’t noticed any issues but to be honest I think the wash at the end covers up any lower-pigment areas.
