Imagine you randomize the characters, and the only charater left normal is Faust and when you first meet him he just goes "What the hell, why wasnt I randomized?! WHY'D I HAVE TO STILL BE STUCK IN THE DAMN BARREL?!?"
Wow after binging the series the map quality has improved so much since launch. "Too many teleporters wavy floor" map actually looks okay now! Glad to see the dev's putting in the work to make it better. Honestly I'm probably gonna buy the game now, and I kinda look forward to the sequel.
I got a tiny glitch when playing for the first time yesterday when, during a bond conversation, Irving's head suddenly changed for one line of dialogue so that he had a hat on. So I got spoiled for his beach getup I guess
Old I know but I wanted to bring this up. I relly like randomized runs for this game because of the bonds, you get to see connections between characters that would be normally pretty difficult to get if you got the characters at the normal time.
So I decided to start a randomized run, and instead of the starting 4 of Irving, Maren, Alden, and Garrick I got: Bianca, Thae'lanel, Aurima...and Benji.
Oh and Lincoln got replaced by Elias, Bianca got replaced by Corvan, Cia got replaced by Wren, and Elias himself got replaced by Ford. My first nine units included four of the five adepts in the entire game and three of the four thief types. Dx
I kind of liked the more generic fantasy bend this game has, fire emblem but with elves and dwarves is pretty much my jam, but one of the dlc maps just being an unironic orc hoarde battle is throwing me for a loop. And like, that dialogue is *really* leaning into it too, talking about wiping them out completely as being not a bad idea because they're like, people, but because we just don't have enough guys, or most of them not being smart enough to use magic apparently...i guess its all just really par for the course whenever any sort of media delves into generic fantasy, but all of this feels sooo out of left field compared to everything else ive seen, idk
Oh man, this was the last stream i caught live before the Twitch ban happened. I only caught the second half originally, so It's nice to finally see the whole thing.
I made the mistake of making Thae'Lanel a surge in my rando run (His strength growths are nuts even with the magic class). And he was STILL decently good.
Wow, the Order’s plan in that one mission really is “Help a village fend off raiders to recruit it’s protectors to our own service, only help them once then leave them without their previous defensive forces.”
i feel like you could justify ironman in a story where all the characters are important as they become so busted up that they cant step onto a battlefield anymore
22:32 I know exactly what happened here. You didn't get your hp increased by 2, and since whether or not it does increase by 1 or 2 effects the level up quotes, it must also affect the achievement.
Yea, HP+1 is guaranteed, HP+2 is 'you rolled HP'. The achievement is unlocked for rolling *every* stat on a level up so the roll with everything +1 means they were one stat off from perfect instead of perfect
1:11:05 This is, again, tied to the fact that you can get a +2 in hp. so not counting the initial +1 in HP, You need a maximum of 3 stat ups for the bad quote, and a minimum of 7. Basically, only three stats go up? bad level up, all but three stats go up? good level up.

Bianca as fire monk has been eating the enemies for me. Granted all my adepts have actually been doing great funnily enough

I got nearly the exact same starting team except I got Cia instead of Bianca.

Man the maps look SO much better
Thae'Lanel would be good for the final boss where he has that random weapon thing and is hard to predict his damage.

The Champion's ability would be good vs high armor targets where your double attack would be like, 2 damage each by bumping the single attack up.
