I have an American Tele and jamming with these guys is informative. The chord changes and the position of the neck where they solo is helping immensely as opposed to trying to get there by just the ears. These guys truly are masters of the Telecaster!
He know when he said he wanted to play sweet dreams he really meant by Roy Buchanan I mean he is also the master of the telecaster. Maybe he didn’t think of him playing it but when he played it I instantly thought of Roy’s version
