Very informative, my carb is a 175 CD and its good to know how the other types work so you can understand how your later version came to be the way it is.
Learning how they work is the easy way to try and fix them .

Thanks for the video. Cool that you could compare four different ones.

Actually, the one with the adaptor is a NOS version of the third carb that has neither an adj jet not adj needle.

I have no experience with water chokes. It would seem a faulty choke would result in a overly rich run condition if sticking on. Recall the days when we "punched" the gas pedal to calm down a choke. A manual choke gives you more control, but you'll have more to look after. See if you are spitting out fuel droplets through the tailpipe. Mine will do that when choked (rich), and before the engine warms up, at which point I back off on the choke.
With respect to warm start issues, you may want to look into the possibility of fuel boiling. Remedies usually are isolating where fuel lines to the carbs may be running and keeping exhaust manifold heat from them and affecting the carb fuel bowl temperature. Better air flow in the engine compartment can help this as well.

Very enlightening. I have both the 175 CD on a '77 MG that I partially rebuilt, and two 150 CD s off of a Volvo marine engine with the adjustable jets. I'm having trouble with the MG restarting when the engine is warm. It starts easily when cold, but I have to let it cool off to start it again. It also idles too fast, even with the idle screw turned all the way down. It is equipped with the water choke, and I think that may be the problem. Seriously considering installing a manual choke. Any suggestions? Thank you for posting your video. I enjoyed it. Aside from the high revving, the engine runs fine with good oil pressure.

Para estabilizar la posición del jet. Para mantener la presión al alza en el chorro. El CD tiene este estándar. Muchos CDSE no lo hace. Mi CDSE no tenía. No tengo ningún carburador CDS, pero tienen jet ajustable como con CD.
