In about 5 years time I would love to see a, 'then and now' video showing what the area looked liked when it first opened to 5-10 years plus to show how the aging of the planting and landscaping makes the area more immersive.
Hey Shawn thanks so much for keeping us up to date as usual. Doesn’t seem like long ago that you told us Chessington’s plans to create the coaster and now here it is!
Quite interesting that the second launched wing coaster would go with a back-and-forth type of experience instead of a standard lap. Thunderbird is still unique in that sense.
Pretty much 4 launches in all. First one from the station up to the spike, the second back through the station for the inversion, the third just before the climb up the helix and the fourth before the inversion on the way back. Pretty similar to Maximus opening soon at Legoland Germany. A nice “transition” coaster for younger riders from kiddy coasters to something a bit more grown up.
It’s literally aimed at a kids as a ‘my first inversion’ - you are not the target audience so I don’t understand all the negativity - If they stuck in a Project Exodus, you’d probably be the first saying ‘this doesn’t fit with the park’. I think it looks great and perfect for the demographic that visit Chessington.
Wow that packed a punch even from testing. Definitely getting whipped going through That inversion 2x with a pop of airtime. Potential grey out moment on the helix as well. Even though it’s less than 100ft it’s going to pull some G’s and bring the thrill!!
Chessington really need a throughput heavy ride, would have loved to have seen an two train intamin personally, feel like this is a more of a deal they made because b and m were losing ground to intamin and vekoma in the family space
Thank you so much Shawn for sharing this amazing update not long ago you were mentioning about Chessington’s new exciting Jumanji project a few moments later I’m surprised how Chessington’s attraction builders have quickly progressed they’ve transformed this exciting themed area this is super exciting news, I feel a little sad 😞 as my thrill seeking ride adventures are officially over, if only I didn’t have a major back injury I would be totally excited about exploring these new theme park attractions our local seaside resort fun park rides relating sharing my riding experience with you guys I’m not really complaining at least I’m able to go swimming and explore other much gentle activities but will always miss the theme park riding experiences however your epic on ride povs I really enjoy 😊 appreciate watching these great vlogs Thank you Shawn
Just imagine the queues! as it looks like that's the only carriage. That's easily gona be a disney experience with probably a 80 minute minimum queue time
We can do some conservative calculations tbf, tbf ride seems to run for just over a minute each time. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say riders can be swapped in around 30-40 seconds bringing us to a two minute ride cycle. There's 28 seats, so that would mean an average hourly throughput of around 840 guests per hour. It's an ok number, but not fantastic. That's also only if the operators can nail that passenger switch over quickly everytime. I reckon realistically we're talking 500 or so an hour
Another good video, really am enjoying these Jumanji clips, videos and pieces of content, can't wait to see it opened in May. Going to be epic walking around it, hopefully do a vlog for my own channel? As would like to do one at some point once opened, but yeah looking good, good to finally see more videos of coaster testing, getting me hyped up as bringing Jumanji more to life. Be even better once all theming is complete & its immersive to the point you don't see the world outside, but only Jumanji surrounding you. But good video, enjoyed as always and look forward hopefully to see POV's on these rides & coaster in future, might not happen in fact doubt it will, but who knows? But yeah, cheers again. 😀👍
Would look pretty sick if they had flames coming out of the jaguars mouth when they spiral up to it, would be a great effect if the jaguar did something when they spiral up to it then to fall backwards.. hope they paint the jaguar too.., looks very plain
This looks like a great attraction I would definitely ride it if I had the chance but it wouldn’t be my favorite I think because I love the types of rides where they are so intense And fast I just love the feeling of going super duper fast which that coaster doesn’t look the fastest 👍
B and M wing coasters always look slow because of the size of the trains. Look at things liker the Swarm, Looks slow on the ground but definitely is not
Man was I excited when I saw the announcement sporting the helix and the jaguar head... Won't judge until I've ridden it, but the layout looks awfully boring - even for a family ride.
good video Shawn from Mandrill Mayhem is a Bolliger & Mabillard Launched Shuttle Wing Coaster opening on 15th May 2023 within World Of Jumanji at Chessington World Of Adventures. In this video, we share off-ride footage of Mandrill Mayhem testing from within this new themed area. This unique shuttle coaster from B&M reaches a top speed of 44mph during an LSM Multi-pass launch. The coaster also features a Jr. Scorpion Tail along with an In-Line Twist! keep the good videos coming on the channel.
You only go up the station spike once, you only experience the full station launch once, so the experience on the backward seats will be (slightly) different.
@@ThemeParkWorldwide I used to work on Vampire and we were attempting to get 3 train ops for the first time in years since me and the other attendant were lightning fast. It was impossible though as chessington is catered to kids and parents wouldn't let them out of sight so bags were slow, restraints were often complained to be too tight and etc. so constant delays on every ride usually other than the water rides due to the conveyor system that forces people to try and act quickly. I just see a permanent 1 hour queue minimum from this thing, as cool as it is. And honestly I never understood why they didn't just build a gerstlauer (kinda like rage at adventure island). Maybe Merlin hates them now?
Been looking forward to this opening but after this footage not so much anymore. Can say this ride looks genuinely boring and uninspiring and not going to be worth the que times with the one train running 🤷♂️ hope im wrong but can't see it unfortunately.
Looks so boring, and ques are going to be so long can only accommodate 800 people an hour due to it being a single shuttle ride. considering it's a 15k people park a day that means thers only enough time for about 30% of people visiting the park to ride it once.

Keep riding😊
So nice to have an inversion and launch at little old chessington now. Plus this should thin out queues for other rides for sure!
It sure is great to see!
Looks like Chessington is getting it's first major thrill in a while. Can't wait!
It's hardly thrilling. Dragon's fury is probably more thrilling than this. Looks unbelievably boring
@@kylem8811 I actually agree

Majestic! Can't wait to get on it.
bring it on!
Just imagine the queues! as it looks like that's the only carriage. That's easily gona be a disney experience with probably a 80 minute minimum queue time
It's a short layout, with a long train. Apparently B&M have fixed a 'capasity issue' with it, so it should be fine
You wouldnt want 2 trains on that track 😂
That's a short queue then
Capacity certainly is concerning, however the area looks great!

I'd love for them to take out Flight Deck and Time Warp from Canadas Wonderland and put in something like this
Impressive
Chessington really are going full out!! See u there
See you there!
Shawn and Charlotte do you think you will prefer mandrill over the swarm as they are both wing coasters
It's a kids ride. No way does it compare to the swarm
Did you just compare this to The Swarm 😂
This is a family/thrill coaster so it'll be great for this park, however The Swarm is a full thrill coaster!
It looks very good, but it's so loud in the station with the lsm's
It moves very fast through the station!
That looks so much fun
Great video as always Shawn and Charlotte, it’s great to see Mandrill Mayhem testing

The last set of seats is on backwards
Can't. Wait. To. Go on it
I cant wait to go ride this on opening day
Bring it on!
Mandrill Mayhem looks spectacular! I think that the World of Jumanji will do wonders for Chessington.
It will indeed!
Looks cool
What sort of height restriction is going to be on this?
Most likely 1.2M or 1.3M
1.2m
1.2m
Will this be it's too speed or will it go faster
This is the top speed! Around 44mph!
I’m surprised they are not over marketing the number of launches there are on this.
It goes upside down! And backwards seats
Lovely new vlog and pov saw you on andys vlog
Thank you!
This is gonna have a long wait time 😢
Do you know what the height restriction for this is ?
1.2m
So how do you ride a family of four in the same line?
Either on each wing or behind eachother
Lastly what height will this ride be for? 1 metre ?? And length of ride? Looks very slow and quick the ride from footage but could be wrong in person
1.2m
1.2m height restriction!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide how fast is this ride going to be?
@@RikFTK do you know how fast the ride is?
Perso je le trouve bien plus attirant que le Wing de Legoland !
It looks absolutely amazing and the speed looks great when it opens I hope you will be able to bring us on with a pov
Hopefully so at the press event!
That LSM noise…
So good!
Do you know how fast it is ?
Around 44mph
I miss the time when The swarm also had reversed chairs.
It was a very interesting experience!
Is this a kiddycoaster?
Not really its like wickerman, good for everyone
It's a family/thrill
Looks like a fun ride but looks like it'll have a slow turnover of guests and long wait times with only one Carriage
Looks like a weirdo ride? It seems tame and for families, and yet it has an inversion wich might scare families away
Everyone needs their first ride with an inversion though and this looks perfect for that
It'll be a great for the target audience of family/thrill that Chessington are going for!
👍
Poog hello
Looks to have really nice pacing! You’ll get amazing hang time over the inversion!

Doesn't look very exciting + low rate of return

whats is the actual point of having a backwards facing back car on a shuttle coaster lol
You only go up the station spike once, you only experience the full station launch once, so the experience on the backward seats will be (slightly) different.
@@RikFTK fair enough but in my opinion not worth paying extra if it’s an up charge like I suspect it will be

Why would they? Its not meant to be swarm level thrill

This is such a flop. Chessington struggles with throughput as is.
Hopefully they’ll be able to get the train loaded quickly
