Wow. I was stitching but had to stop and watch our video because the finisher did a fantastic job of your finished project. The lady Is a wizard turning them into the finish pieces just love them♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.
Hi Kathy, so glad I finally saw this video everyone is talking about. I love the idea of you working your way through your box of finishes and we get some wonderful eye candy along the way. Thanks for taking the time to make videos and your thoughtfulness in showcasing finishers. Your designs look well thought out as well. Happy stitching to you.
I am a Kansas girl and got to visit Hearts Desire for the first time last weekend. LOVE it! I love all of your chalk designs, all of your other designs, and information. I am a new follower to floss tube so I am catching up on videos.
Another great video. I like that you promote other designers as well. Plenty of "wealth" to go around! Loved your finishes you just got back. Now you can really enjoy the fruits of your labor. Stitch on!!
Hi Cathy, another great video. Love all your new releases. The items you had finished are fantastic. She is very creative. Always look forward to hearing from you. Take care......Crystal.
Cathy your so awesome, love your patterns and always have. You show how to finish things and not to be afraid. Snowberry has the cutest finishes, I see them on Pinterest. I rely like the one pattern that you just released with the sunflowers in a jar. Happy Stitching
That was so much fun! I'm in love with your little holiday houses...they are beautiful! And the finishing...wow! Thank you for sharing her beautiful work. I would snatch that little Shepherd's Bush one right out of your hands if I could! :)
CATHY!!!!!!!!!This is one amazing video!!!Love,LOVE,LOVE the new Sunshine on a Stem pattern!!!And the Holiday houses are so cute! MUST have those 2 patterns. Really enjoyed seeing your Finish Palooza. It was so much fun to see how Rita finished all those cute stitches! That witchy boot is fabulous!! Thanks so much for sharing all your treasures!
This video was jammed up and jelly tight. What a great video Cathy! I loved the 3 new releases...I've actually stitched the Sunshine ☀️ on a stem pattern. I can attest that cutting the felt leaves is easy. I had to cut mine down for the Sewmuch2luv August 2016 BOTM because I stitched it on 18 ct. Aida. Although I didn't make the cool "snip" sound 🔊 effects when I cut mine they turned out great and stitched so easy. I'll have to remember the snip sound the next time. 🤣 Love 😍😍😍 the little house trio...that is my heart's ❤️desire now. 🏡Thanks for sharing all those amazing finishes from Rita @ Snowberry Needlearts. I am so jelly of them all!!! That turkey 🦃 and that Witch boot...seriously!?!? I expect Rita is going to be EXTREMELY busy after people watch this video. 😲🙌🏼🎉
Cathy your video is amazing! I love the new designs and can't wait for the release! Love all your finishes but the la d da witch boot is adorable! thanks for sharing!
What great finishes, love the sitting turkey and the little sheep.I must go back and binge watch your videos.Guess i must have watched one or two of your videos before as i was subscribed to your link, just didn't remember!!Senior moments. She did a fabulous finish on that witch's stocking.Great job by both of you.Tfs
Hi Cathy They are stunning finishes, every one of them. My shame pile is going to get some attention now, I'm inspired. Thank you for a lovely video. Marie
I always look forward to your videos you always have so many back stories about your designs and finishes that are so interesting!! Love the 3 houses and the way you finished them, what a great idea. The gal that did your finishes did an awesome job. Thank you for sharing with us.
That was loaded video with so many cute things! Love your idea of house triptych- it looks amazing! And all your own and other FFOs: OMG! those are very different and cute looks. Can't wait to see what you'll come up next! Jurgita
This video was SO inspiring! I just love all the finishes by Snow Berry Needle Arts. She is truly gifted! I already checked out her FB page. I really do enjoy your videos and your patterns. You're a joy to watch!
MY word...I’m familiar with Rita’s work and I’ve seen most of these on Pinterest myself...how can anyone top that?! She does stunning, stunning work! You are a lucky girl with those! I love that Sunshine on a stem and the hearts desire newbie release and even the old bonus tracks :) Thank you for sharing your joy of the needle because watching you and seeing that roll out of those beautiful pieces sure did my heart good! Keep smiling and stitching!
Love the re-release of the houses, I had missed them the first time! And those finishes, how great!! You are one lucky girl!! Thanks so much for sharing!
What a fun, fun video!! Before you said her name, I figured that it might be Snowberry Needlearts as I have been drooling over the pieces (yours) that she had posted on her FB page. They are all absolutely gorgeous; what fun for you to have pieces that you stitched and to love the new finishes on them. Your new releases are wonderful too. I remember well how much everyone loved the Heart's Desire pillow at camp that year. I am so thrilled that things are going so well for you in your designing; look forward to more from you. Happy designing, stitching, and blessings to you in all things..............................
What great fun to watch this video!! I love your designs, and I love how happy you are with your finishes - FFO's just NEVER get old, and when you find a fresh talent who has SUPER COOL finishing ideas, well....❤️👏🏻👍🏻😍😁. Your going a little longer in your video was a-ok with me!! See you next time!!
Wow. looking forward to the releases. Its amazing to see you love to stitch as much as we do. I did not know you owned a shop or did finishing. The finished pieces she did came out amazing. Its nice to see you get excited about them. The longer the better on flosstube, we stitch and watch. Have an awesome weekend. thank you for sharing
Such a fun video! I’m so excited about Home For The Holidays, I missed it first time around so its ALL bonus track to me 😉. Those finishes are amazing, so unique! And if it weren’t bad enough that you enabled me with your own designs, now you’re enabling for others because I must have the kitten in the pumpkin!
OMG LUV the finishes!!! New to floss tube, I've been binge watching and your one of my favorites😊! Luv your designs and how kind you are to let us see and know how others finish designs...I enjoy your designs and videos so much...😊
Kathy, that turkey is so stinkin' cute, I can't stand it! I just love the way she uses that wool to finish ornaments. It would never have occurred to me to do that. And I am a Halloween witchy stitcher...what can I even say about that "ding dong" finish? Too cute! Thank you so much for showing us her finishes.
Hello ! I'"m happy to have found your channel today !! I love your work !! beautiful finishing !! Thanks for sharing !! Have a nice day , Hugs from France, Nathalie !
I just finished Pumpkin Spice Farm and now to fully finish it this week. I LOVE your little houses. I am a big fan of all the villages that are available. I was not aware of this pattern so thanks for the Bonus Track!!:) Also thank you for adding the DMC conversions. It is very helpful.
Loved the video Cathy! Sunshine on a Stem was such a fun stitch! I got my pattern through the BOTM club with Karen 😊 My mom took my pillow! Lol! I am going to stitch another one! Going to a LNS this weekend so I am going to look for Wreath House! Can't wait to stitch it! OMG!!! Those finishes are amazing!!! I'm going to go to her site and have a looksie 😳 Thank you for sharing! Love your excitement in all your videos! Makes my day start off happy! Until next time...Happy Stitching!!!
Love, love, love the houses! Will definitely be purchasing that pattern set when it is available. Thank you for sharing all your finishes. Looking forward to the next video.
i just ordered wreath house I love that your bringing back some of the old collections you should totally do a vintage series for some of us new stitchers i would love that (just a thought)
Wow, I just binged watched all your videos today! And I love everything you design. You've got some great talent!! I am going to NEED a lot of your patterns. Lol. I am not happy that I missed the kit a few videos back.... the one with the shells on the pin cushion (my maiden name is Shell) and the spool scissor holder with the foot prints ( I think I need that in my life). I went over the Down SunShine Lanes website and couldn't find it so I assumed they were all sold. I can't wait to watch what you design next!
Those finished pieces are amazing! I also love your newest pieces. I went on your website thinking I’d order the Hearts Desire and the finishing pack. I see though I can’t order the chart. 😒. Wanted to save on shipping to Canada. So I guess I’ll get it from my LNS and pick my own fabric from my stash. Lovely video Cathy. You’re so talented girl!
Rose - I try to give shops 'first dibs' on New Releases for at least 6 months. If this type of situation arises again...please email. I see those before I see FT comments. I'm pretty accommodating & we can work things out.
I have been going back to your first flosstubes and you are just wonderful!! In this episode you show some of your work that has been finished by Snowberry Needlearts. You mentioned that the nativity one is a Little House Needleworks design. Is it? Because I could not find it.
I am a stitcher who took a 20 year break due to bad eyesight. Thanks to new gadgets I can see again. I keep it to 18 count. Anyway my question for you is what do you do with all of your finished projects? Store and display seasonally? How about framing? Could you maybe do a video on this. I don't think I'm alone in this. I'm stitching like crazy but can only give so many as gifts. I love cross stitch but do it all day everyday mainly as a distraction. My daughter passed away in 2015. Stitching keeps me sane. Thank you for your time.
Laura Parrish a lot of my Hands On Design finishes go to 'work'. They get shipped away on trunk shows to various shops and travel with me when I go teach somewhere. I also tend to design & stitch smaller pieces, so storing those isn't a big problem (hello rubbermaid!) I fill a lot of bowls and baskets with seasonal stitches. I decorate my mantel with small framed pieces (check out my IG feed for those type of pictures). See that big glass front shelf behind me in the video... I empty it out and soon it will be all Christmas! Hmmm...maybe I will do a little tour of it! Welcome back to cross-stitch. I'm so sorry for the passing of your daughter, but I'm glad that you have stitches for sanity. 🎈
I think the sound effects when cutting felt leaves should be mandatory 😁 I love your finishes! I'd love to make the Sunshine on a Stem piece. But I have a question: What's a "tuck banner"? (The original finish for the "True love is for all time" piece?) I tried searching for it but I might have misheard.
Great video! This is the first video of yours that I have watched. So many adorable finishes! I will have to go back and watch your first six videos. How long have you been designing? My mom had a cross stitch shop in Florida for over 25 years and I'm wondering if she had your designs too. I am going to have to look through all of her charts to see. She passed away in 2012, but I still have all of her inventory. Thanks for a great video! Pam
Thanks! I've bee in the industry for about 20 years - 9 as a shopowner, 1 as a FT finisher & 10 designing (2 different companies, but Hands On for the past 5!) Where was your Mom's shop?
Her shop was called "The Cardinal's Workshop" in Crestview, Florida. She had the cross-stitch part and my dad did the framing. I think she opened in about 1983 and closed in about 2008. She was the local "psychiatrist" to alot of her customers. Ha!Ha! Everybody wanted her advice, and not just about cross stitch. Did you experience this as a shop owner too? Sadly, she passed away in 2012. I loved going to market with her in Charlotte. We also went to Denmark for two weeks in the 80's with Pat Carson. Fabulous! Is your name printed on your graphs dated before Hands On? Since Mother passed away five years ago, there won't be any graphs ordered after 2008, when she closed. I will be going over to Crestview at Thanksgiving and will be going through graphs, etc. Hope I didn't bore you. Pam
How interesting. Yes! I always said that the day I opened my shop, I immediately became part bartender listening to folks' bad days & psychic to remember if someone bought a certain chart already! 😁also expert on where & when to locate those special order items. My joke was that my epitaph would say 'I can order that'! I do believe that my name would be on old charts. The design company was called CherryWood Design Studios. It sounds like you have some very special memories of your folks!
Yes, I have the most special memories of my folks-they were married 69 years. Very strict parents and did not spare the rod! Ha!ha! When I go to Crestview, I will certainly be looking for your graphs. There are literally boxes of graphs stored at their house. Hope I find some of yours-I really like your style of design. Have a great weekend.
Cathy, I am new to FlossTube and your channel. I've watched all the back videos and there is one thing I would really like you to address as a designer and finisher. What is the best method to wash and prepare projects for finishing? I used to use Woolite all the time but I'm not sure, after a 15 year hiatus from stitching, if that is still the cleaner of choice. Thanks!
Thanks for watching Ellen! Years ago I used to wash my projects in Dawn - it's very mild (even did the dry cleaning thing once...don't recommend that) but in the past 20 years, I don't wash my completed pieces. In the early stages of the hand-dyed threads & linens, the items were not colorfast & I had a few oopsies when I misted a few pieces after framing. I stitch in hand & with a Q-snap & haven't had a need to wash them even now as many of the hand-dyeds have become colorfast. I make sure that my hands are clean & I don't leave my piece in the q-snap when I'm not stitching on it (so I don't get dirt on the edges). As far as preparing for a finisher or framer, I always prefer when a stitcher sends the piece pressed & ready to go. If there are buttons or embellishments, It's nice to chat before hand to see if it's easier to send the buttons attached or not attached (if I have to press, I don't want to iron & melt buttons). Welcome back to stitching & ask away of you have more questions!
Tammy Bunge sewmuch2luv has a bag of the month program. Check out her Etsy shop. I've done a few projects with Karen and her bags are adorable! You get 1 a month but can also choose an every other month track. She will have a sign up for the 2018 club soon!
I just sent you an Instagram message in regards to where I can order this pattern ☺☺☺ plus I just received my first order from sew much 2 luv, it's a padded notebook for journaling my cross stitch items !!
Wow. I was stitching but had to stop and watch our video because the finisher did a fantastic job of your finished project. The lady Is a wizard turning them into the finish pieces just love them♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.
