I'm so glad you liked it! I actually just published a Christmas follow up story in the same setting last week if you want more of Jane Jago's Night Librarian.
Dont know if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother during the lockdown =)
This has similarities to the movie ' The Page Master' yet I prefer audiobooks cuz I can exercise my imagination for visual aids. This one is my favorite. Thanks for it.
Being a writer, this was one of the most exquisite pieces of literature. It took me inside the library and the darkness of it during the night. I experienced all the books and their fears of being consumed by "that genre." Great job!
Hi Eva. I will ask Jane about the Brother, I'm not actually sure. And if I might ask about the ads, where they just at the end? UA-cam has been doing some shady advertising stuff lately and adding them to videos without asking the creators. I ONLY allow ads at the end of each episode so it doesn't spoil the story.
Thanks, say Hi to Jane & thank her for me, k?! I'll keep an eye out for the timing of the ads & let you know when they encroach. I know this one was interrupted, but I thought that meant you were getting paid. Sry. ♥️👵
@@evaharvey840 Here was Jane's reply "The demon’s ‘brother’ in the Night Librarian is a metaphor for the other denizens of hell or wherever it is he comes from." I hope that helps :) And yeah, if you catch another ad in the middle go ahead and let me know. UA-cam support has no idea why that would be happening but letting them know a couple specific videos might help. Who knows? I just don't like the idea of people getting interrupted. I would hate to have that happen to me, so I would never intentionally do it to any of you. The only reason I have ads at the end at all is that there is a chance youtube might favor monetized videos in their algorithm.
The content on this channel is truly wonderful, but adding a little sound effects and/or light background music to give the narration greater depth would really make it awesome. Perhaps testing the idea out and see what the listeners think?
Hi Russ! Thank you for the compliment. As for music, I considered it in the past and did a poll. Over 70% of people said they prefer audiobooks without sound effects or music. While I'm not against the idea, I don't think I'm going to pursue it right now. Maybe if I ever get big enough that I can get an actual audio engineer they can change my mind :) Thank you for the suggestion though!
@@TallTaleTV throwing my vote in...please don't use anything but your voice. You are so talented that you don't need the crutch of sound effects or music. Your voice is both of those things and so much more. You take us on journeys with multiple people of all ages and genders. Just you all by yourself. WOW! That is so cool! I'm a fan. 😊
lol, yep. I have spent the last 5 years systematically untraining my midwest accent. That particular one was quite tricky. I still catch myself dipping into the local accent now and then, but I've come lightyears from where I used to be!
The story is far from perfect - there are multiple misused words that kept jolting me out of enjoying its interesting plot and pretty good imagery, for one. Also, I certainly wasn’t expecting the focus on the erotica shelves, and dealing with a sexual monster should have been indicated in the video’s title, description, or verbal trigger warnings. It also irked me that the entirety of female characters were straight and automatically drooled at the sight of the supposedly perfect male form. I do love fantasy libraries, which made me listen to the whole thing. I had no trouble with the narrator. Sorry for the length!
Ugh, UA-cam swears up and down they don't unsubscribe people, but it is a huge issue that all channels have had to deal with. I'm sorry it happened to you, but I am am very glad you found your way back!
@@TallTaleTV ......lol, hey you politely took that not so polite criticism in stride, that in itself is very commendable. I certainly could learn from that so cheers to ya :)

Superb! Solely by words and inflexion of voice, imagination does the rest. Thank you.
It was entirely my pleasure! I'm glad we could steal you away from reality for a bit.
Yep! I became a fan, ... to the author and the reader ❤

Jane Jago, you've got a phenomenal talent. Thank you for sharing

Finally, a story not spoken in British, and not whispered!
They are SOOO hard to find! I wonder why that is?
British, you mean the English language?
I really liked it,as it was one of my first few audio books and i am really glad i found this..keep spreading positivity always
I'm honored to help bring you into the audiobook world! It changed my life, no exaggeration. I hope you continue to enjoy the medium :)

Oooh, 'The Page Master' sounds like my kind of movie. I will have to check it out, thanks!
Cool, I like doing that too. You'll be surprised.

i love librarians that are good readers.
you call me immature but i laughed so hard at this
As long as it brightened your day!
What a nice story. The librarian is such a BA!!
lol, yeah I love her calm nature around all the supernatural. Just another day.
Listening to this in my car while waiting for tacos. Might need to turn the volume down a bit.
lol! Oh god, of all my stories it had to be this one. Sorry about that!
Great story and narration!

Excellent! I want moar!
Jane Jago actually had a Christmas sequel to this published recently, "The Night Library at Christmas" ua-cam.com/video/VfTVOxTu1iY/v-deo.html

I found the book to be pretty bad, at least it was somewhat funny. Thanks for reading! I like your voice
Thank you :) I'm sorry the story wasn't to your liking. That's the problem with having such a diverse channel, some stories simply wont fit everyone.

I'm pretty sure the narrator's speaking with a (very pronounced) British accent? Unless im misunderstanding or miss-hearing?
Cool not bad kinda silly
