- Let's learn about 7th chords and how they can be used in a popular chord progression - G D Em C (1 5 6m 4). Each 7th chord has 4 notes from 6th string root or 5th string root so you have two choices for each chord. I like to play GMa7 C/D (for V) Em7 and CMaj7. Try this simple strumming exercise I provide to my students and let me know if you have any questions!

Great lesson! I enjoy these “strumming lessons” as it teaches me new chords’ voicings in musical way (usable - what is most important). I would appreciate some lesson where you incorporate diminished chords as well. But all in all, this is a real gem! :) thank you!

You're very welcome! Thank you!
I love City Pop so much. I would love to learn more about the progressions they use and how they play. Maybe one day you will teach us a little. I love Toshiki Kadomatsu so much!
So awesome to hear that! Train your ear & fretboard theory! You can hear anything and you can play it!
Great quick lesson Tomo, thank you. I like the challenge of getting my thumb to work on those Maj7 chords :D
You can do it! You’re very welcome! Thank you!
This sounds so wonderful! Also, it looks easy when you are playing it, however the finger positioning and chords changes are not that easy in reality! You know how to make guitars really sing!
Thank you so much! Thank you for sharing! Once you have good foundation. You can play much free!

Be well, Tomosan.
Thank you so much! I love working in slow progress! Yes!
Thank you so much Tomo for sharing! I liked the sound of the Ibanez, very well balanced through out your playing style along with the Amp. settings. I love the sound of the Major7th and Minor7th chords working agaist each other, practiceing them often in triads helps me to find melodies when trying to write songs. Thanks again.
