- Along Come a Woman, Peter Cetera (Former Lead Singer of Chicago), Caesars Maximus Theater, Atlantic City, New Jersey; June 4th, 2016; Summer Tour
Man, I wish Pete would have started doing this about 15 years ago!
EXACTLY!! he should have started getting nostalgic around 2006/07 when he was doing that ORCHRESTRA shit instead : P ive heard them do this song live and they can do it better than this.....
@@TruthHurts58 Actually, Peter did a mini tour in 1995 and he sounded spectacular. I wish he would've done more of those mini tours each year. I know he doesn't like to tour, but I think he could've handled 10 or 15 cities a year.
This song saved my life
Peter Cetera Nailed It With This electric version of this hit. WOW!!!
Loved the video, too.
Peter is such a cool cat.
Way to go, Peter! Great as always!
He needs to go back to Chicago
Peter still can hit the notes in this jam from Chicago 17.
Yes and no...the song's key has clearly been dropped. But you are right, Cetera sounds great, especially for pushing 70 when this was recorded.
Paul I actually he is 72 here and the key is only one step down from the original. Originally in A and now in G. Pretty freaking amazing actually for his age.
At least he was able to sound like himself right up to his recent retirement. Smart to get out when he did.
AMEN 🙏
damn this was hard to watch!!
Peter Cetera: The Best Rockin' In This Big Jam from Chicago 17. Wish he played the bass.
yea i like the other videos where he IS actually playing bass again. i feel he should just tour paying his solo stuff and chicago hits whilst playing bass....
nailed it
el mejor sin duda a su edad cantando excelente peter cetera de chicago
Man, I don't know why but I would die to know how much the guy playing the blue Fender got paid per gig on this tour. He just doesn't look like he'd be doing this for a living. I wonder if this was his biggest gig to date?
Ironically he wound up becoming the guitar player in Chicago! That's Tony Obrohta
Where's the horns? They made the song!
@@VintageToyTheatre no they didn’t. You could hardly hear them on 17. Go over to the Chicago page if you want horns!
@@TruthHurts58 that was posted 8 yrs ago. Cetera has since long retired. Lol
The lower key doesn't really work for the instruments on this song. And old Pete is pushing pretty hard to hit the notes. Valiant attempt though.
Seems like it has something to do with his lungs, maybe all the smoking he did in his youth caught up to him. He seems a little out of breath. Singers shouldn't smoke.
@@lamarravery4094Cetera was on FOX NEWS in 2001 and he told Shepherd Smith during the interview that a lot of songs 🎵 he sang in Chicago were always higher than he would normally sing. Cetera said the band told him "That sounds OK but can you sing it higher "? As a soloist and the ex Chicago tenor he wasn't under pressure no more to sing so high. It looks like he's singing where he's comfortable. Cetera was promoting ANOTHER PERFECT WORLD when he was on Fox in 2001 and yes the songs on that CD showed Cetera was actually singing every song LOWER than his previous solo albums. Smith pointed that out and Cetera responded by what aforementioned why he sung so high in Chicago. He said after rejecting to attend the 2016 RRHOF and performing with Chicago that he always thought 25 or 6 to 4 was too high for his voice.
@@waltersimmons946 I would've loved to have seen that interview. But I don't watch Fox News, so I wouldn't have caught it anyway. Thanks for the info, fellow Cetera fan.
@@lamarravery4094 That was months before the 9/11 attack on the towers in New York City. I was flipping through channels when I unintentionally saw him on Fox News in 2001. I had no idea he was going to be on that channel . Also there's a clip uploaded last night on UA-cam from 1984 with Robert Lamm and Cetera (just those two )on Regis and Kathy Lee . They looked really young for 40 year old guys. They didn't sing or play any music . They just chatted about the band history and they were in New York (to perform as a band) for one night. Regis played the clip of STAY THE NIGHT the video so I assume that was the current tune during the interview. I've seen (post Cetera) Chicago perform "Here in my heart" from Volume l -1967-1997 on Regis and Kathy Lee in 1997 and they did medleys of the classic hits at the time but for years I wondered why Cetera didn't go on that show as a soloist because he performed with a live band by 1995 plus I saw Dennis Deyoung a few years earlier go on that show with Tommy Shaw and J.Y as Styx they played (unplugged) their hits (medleys) and Dennis went back another time on his own and he sang COME SAIL AWAY with someone playing the (acoustic) piano 🎹 for him and he promoted his play "The hunch back of Notre Dame". I never knew Cetera went on Regis and Kathy Lee till I saw that clip. It's on UA-cam as of last night. I'm curious now what else have we not seen. Someone might load up Cetera's Fox interview when you least expect it.
@@waltersimmons946 I'm not a fan of Styx, but I remember flipping through some channels back in 1995 and came across Cetera on Crook and Chase, which was a country music show on a channel called CMT. He performed a few of his songs live on that show including Faithfully, SOS with Rona Reeves and Restless Heart. He was promoting his One Clear Voice album and he was on a mini tour at the time. Wished I had seen him then. I tried finding that show on UA-cam but it isn't on here and he performed those songs live, no lip syncing. There were some interviews he did on VH-1 with Roger Rose in 1986 and I can't find those on UA-cam either.
Peter sounds good on this song. Who's the kick ass keyboard player?
James Last. Bo Cooper is on the keyboards, he has been with Peter in his band since 2007.
These videos are FANTASTIC, Steve!! ♡♡♡ I was at this show!! Amazing quality and sound!! ☆☆☆☆☆Thank you for all of the videos!! Any chance uou taped End of Camelot?
I have never heard this one done at shows..........can only hope for that video to show up!! Love that song!! Thanks again, Steve.
@@suzannechalmers8119 I'm pretty sure he performed that song live in a concert he did in 1995, saw it here on UA-cam, it was a great concert, he sounded really, really good, he was around 50 yrs old at the time.
Pete sounds good..band sounds like s•••
His band is terrible, good lord, the rhythm sucked.
Thank God he can sing better than he can dance!
I didnt know Bill Clinton could sing Chicago songs....wow ....
Even though he has one of the key voices of Chicago it just doesn't work without the brass and woodwinds.
Pompano Beach! Oct.31
10/29 - I was there there. I'm over 60 and I had chills hearing it all, especially Wishing. Best line of the night - after You're the Inspiration, he goes "that's how that song is played"...my wife goes "slam"
I know he probably can't hit the high notes anymore but the KEY of this version ruins it. I am not even sure the whole band is playing in the same key???
What are you talking about? They are all in the same key. Why open your mouth if you don’t know what you are talking about?
I understand he's like 70, but man this version is God awful compared to the OG Chicago version
I am 75...what did you expect? Agreed he does not sound like he once did.
@@johnhouston5412 As Bill Champlin said in an interview a while back. " YOU COULD LOWER CETERA DOWN ON A SONG BY 4 KEYS , ITS STILL GONNA SOUND LIKE CETERA."
I wish there was a pill that Peter could take to get his youthful vocals back.
You can duplicate horns on a keyboard, not sure why he didn't do that because without them the song isn't great.
@@laurastuhler4791 For me it was the guitar. This song was very guitar driven and the original had a much faster tempo and was played in a higher key. So I think that's mostly why this sounds so lackluster.
Great tune.
Nothin like a chick
I like Peter but like Jason's voice better. Chicago is my favorite group.
Peters voice is one in a million tho . Very distinctive. Jason is generic but good
@@philweiand4564 I saw them in concert twice. I know the second time with Jason. The first time I honestly can't remember... lol Luckily for both of us we can listen to whoever we like best! Rock on!
Peter was great in his hey day, but he got old. Jason is 10 yrs younger and as far as I know never smoked. Peter smoked when he was younger so I think it really shortened his vocal career by a few yrs.
@@lamarravery4094 I think Jason is closer to 20 years younger.
@@lamarravery4094Peter was born 09/13/1944 and Jason Scheff was born 04/16/1962. Jason also was on drugs when he joined Chicago in 1986 the band let Jason check himself into rehab. Jason said so himself.
Ya ni voz tiene...!!!!
Sorry, but this version is awful, a chord too low, no horns, and it's just to slow. Jasons solo version is better.
