  • A good insight insights into the one of the greatest minds in photography.
Henri Cartier-Bresson (August 22, 1908 -- August 3, 2004) was a French photographer considered to be the father of photojournalism. He was an early adopter of 35 mm format, and the master of candid photography. He helped develop the street photography or life reportage style that was coined The Decisive Moment that has influenced generations of photographers who followed.

all the artists in this beautiful video have preserved the Child in their soul:just look at their eyes when they talk about their passions and discoveries and inner thoughts.

Best documentary I've ever seen about photography, he is so honest and even after all he achieved he remains 'ordinary' and loves life. It is so damn beautiful, and he reminds us all about why we 'do' it. God damn inspiring.

What an inspiration. When I feel unmotivated to go out and shoot some images in Paris, I look at his work and I'm inspired again.

A very wonderful & insightful documentary on the artistic temperment, passions, and obsessions for the perfect expression. ... For some reason the French and the Italians were always the source of so much genius in the visual arts. it resides, it seems, somewhere in the genes and the culture.

HCB, always heard about and saw his pics but just discovered his interview and documentary. Lived a long and interesting life. His photos document an era, a philosophy and a passion that brings charm to his work in this rapidly evolving world. `Qu`est-ce qu`on fait maintenant?`. Let`s enjoy his photos and celebrate his life. Thanks for the post.

I don't really like how one of the narraters comments on Cartier-Bressons photos like it has a fixed meaning with the picture. The thing I love with Cartier-Bressons photos is that they don't have a fixed meaning with the picture. It tells you something new each time you look at it and always has a new story to tell.

Just one thing i dont like in this documentary: you shouldnt zoom in or out of the pictures, the composition looses its impact
