Basically kids, USE REFERENCES. It's not cheating, it's making your life easier!
Well said 🙌
I haven't been useing any 😭
How is it cheating if you’re drawing it yourself 😭 I’ve never heard anyone say references are cheating
@@PlanetZaia I unfortunately heard people say that, usually it’s beginner artists
@@The_InsideJokeI think it may depend on your style and subject, but generally using a reference is very helpful
You're art is so pretty omgg
That dune drawing at the beginning looks so good. I love artists 😭❤

I was taught to find shapes in everything, from faces to trees to buildings, etc from an artist -it helps a lot when translating your vision into artwork
Wow, actually useful art tips that aren't just "you've been doing art wrong"!! That's rare!! I hope you go viral
They did :D
I would think that the reason why most "tips" tell you that you have been doing "art" wrong would be because before the internet where any picture is considered "art", most people had to formally study the particular art form they wanted to be considered an artist in. Even know some people still go and formerly study art and I suppose it must be annoying to see some of the things people call art, that are really just pictures.
I mean this is if you consider visual arts like painting, there were various artistic movements that contained similar styles, in terms of themes, colours, style, motifs, brush strokes, medium, etc so critics could study this to see which master the person studied under and so on. I only studied art up to what Americans call High School, so I can't explain well.
We can look at someone like Henri Rousseau who was self-taught like most so called artists online. He too was laughed at and mocked for his "childish" work by the educated artists and critics of his time but obviously he is not seen like that now.

I made my own portrait using these tips, it turned out so fascinating!!💙
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!
For a while I've been wanting to practice/study on how to take real people and draw them in a more animated style, while also making sure that it still held their featured that stood out and made them look like themselves!!
Very glad it helps! Thanks for the comment 🙌
@@aki_anyway the rest of the video won't load for me please please tell me what you add last!
Wow, "study your reference" really does sound so much cooler than "copy from a picture". Gonna use 100%
THANK GOD I've been struggling a lot trying do a cartooinsh style, semi realistic comes more natural for me and literally I was just crying because drawing something "simple" will take DAYS, this was actually so useful thank you so much!!!
I didn’t even think about this possibility, thank you for your comment! I’m glad the video helps 🙌
Hey I wish you the best dude! Hopefully this method helps and gets you drawing quicker. Try getting super inspired and watching more videos like this one, it might help a bit more! And I hope you have a good day :D
I read on the internet once that anime/manga artists have to be really skilled at realism because it's only when you fundamentally know how a person's supposed to look that you can abstract it and make a cartoon feel like a living character
@@p3ter9000 yeah! that’s actually it, that’s why rn i try to focus more in figures and objects rather than details like i used to, to comprehend more and better structure, like have a better understandment of the object itself, i’m training my eye and brain to perceive important and charactering details so when i try and simplify the object/person i can still resemble those important traits and not loose any essence!, going back to the basics really really works :))
@@tacopower3578 aww, you are so nice, i hope you are having a great day too!!
The way artists can see lines, shadows and other fine details and recreate them is amazing!
"Or should i sayy Harry's house"
THIS GOT ME DYING😭
Oh my God this helps me so much. My dream is to become an artist but everyone used to say that my sketches and drawings and paintings were not nice and I had this classmate he said that they look like trash so I gave up on my dreams and then a few months ago I said you know what I shouldn’t care about what people say or I shouldn’t care about what people think so I’m gonna keep going and then I realized that I was actually really good at art that time since I took a really big break I wasn’t that good anymore but I didn’t let that get to me I kept doing what I love and now I’m better and I’m only better because of you and your videos.❤❤❤❤ Thank you so much for this love you.
Ugh I hate this kind of people!! They are just jealous that you have something you love doing. Keep doing what you love ❤️ I started drawing seriously only at 22 years old, and then I managed to become a professional artist at 27. You can do it!! 👏👏
Wow, thank you so much for this it really really helps.❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
@@aki_anyway That's super impressive!
The more you do it, the better you get. For all you know, your classmate could've been jealous of your ability. If YOU doubt yourself, don't expect anyone else to believe in you. Not saying that no one will believe in you, but that isn't the point. Keep going.... 👍

Shape study! My best friend ever, could not agree with this video more, studying how to break stuff down into shapes is super helpful and fun
I wasnt expecting this to be that useful but it was a lot!!❤
Please help, I can't stop imagining my family in the family guy artstyle
First you should study the style of the show, copy it a few times and understand what makes it unique and recognizable.
When that’s done you can apply the concepts of the video: simplify the shapes of your family members’ features and add elements of the Family Guy style.
It might take a few tries to do it, enjoy the process 🙌
@@aki_anywaywhat about humans in a SpongeBob style. I’ve been stuck on this for a while 😊
@@BillyCreates almost impossible because spongebobstyle is all fish and animals. If your humans dont have any crazy outstanding features you can put on a fish or other seacreature to make them recognizable, its gonna be a hard time.
@@BillyCreates Only humans I can think in that cartoon are Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
That was surprisingly helpful. Thank you so much for showing us this!!
I have been having trouble drawing humans lately and my style is super cartoony so this will for sure help me out a ton. Thanks for the inspiration :D

I cant believe this has so little attention, these are some awesome tips! I love it! Ive wanted to draw in a more cartoon-y style since forever, but every time they come out more realistic than i wanted!

"HES BACK, HES BACK, VOLDEMORT IS BACK"
im surprised you skipped over the eyebrows, thats one of the key features that make a person recogniseable
Yes, for expression too
she probably forgot
Probably hard to fit it all into a short. If it was between eyebrows or eyes nose mouth or hair, I'd pick the latter features.
Wow, I learned more about drawing in this short than I did in some of my college art classes! SUBSCRIBED and off to watch more. Thanks so much!!!
Aww he's so cute ❤

Awesome advice! I love the breakdown; I've been doing art so long it's at that awkward stage where I can't even properly explain the process to my nephews. This is truly great, thank you for this!

So. To cartoon your character, you observe them. Then draw them using your drawing (and observation) skills. Mindblowing.
She makes it looks so easy
Basically: draw whatever the frick you want, ART IS ART!

I love how you break down the bigger and smaller shapes. Gonna have to copy that. Good stuff.
Great tips! I'll keep that in mind.

We're so happy of your first album under your own agency !!! It's a beautiful song and we're so lucky to hear your beautiful vocals ! We are one 🤍

The way you drew Paul and Chani in the first photo scratches my brain just right. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this.

Wowww i am so impressed by the simplest way you share these techniques to realize this😮❤ thanks dear🎉😊❤
I love how you arrange everything! It so pretty and the mini journal is also so adorable! I will love to see more of these videos 🤭🤩
I draw cartoons of people at parties for about 12 years and drew around 14,000 people. This video is good but don't expect to get a feel for how people look until you have drawn 200 to 300 people closely focusing in them
References are the key!!
