Gas Station Employee Caught After Stealing a $25,000 Winning Lottery Ticket

A local gas station clerk devised a scheme to steal entire books of scratch-off lottery tickets. The fraud was uncovered when the Florida Lottery reported a $25,000 winning ticket sold at her store, and she attempted to cash it. CCTV footage revealed the clerk stealing thousands of dollars in tickets and scanning only the bottom portion to check for winners. She would then purchase the winning tickets, making the transactions appear legitimate. After her arrest, she was charged with grand theft and given 60 days in jail as part of a plea bargain.
