hey Simon, great video mate. was there an aircon unit in the back of the van, if so does that work without the 240v? we will be using for driving up the West Coast of Australia when its very hot.
Hey :) No aircon unit anywhere I’m afraid, so I wouldn’t know. Sounds like you need one down there, even higher temperatures in Australia I would imagine!
Thanks! It depends on your electricity need. You’ll miss out on charging your devices and the heat fan. Otherwise you’ll be fine, as the kitchen and hot water uses gas to function. We charged our devices as we drove using a 12V USB adapter. 2-3 days without a campsite is easily do able:)
Hi Simon, great video! How satisfied were you overall? The car almost looked new those 1.5 years ago that the video is old! Basically no wear&tear? Bed comfortable and curtains doing there job well? Any technical issues on the raodtrip? All clean? Thanks a lot!!!
Hi, thanks! We were very satisfied with this van. Great space, good facilities to cook meals and a warm shower, lovely! Like mentioned, the power outlet to the microwave and heater wont work unless connected to a camp site, so know the limitations. The only wear was on the front of the overhead storage, but we didnt mind that. We slept good, didnt freeze. The curtains worked well, but we had to use the good old hair needle trick to join to curtains cause they leaked too much light, but that fixed it quickly. No technical issues! I really recommend the express checkout package, especially if you drive a lot. You get free milage, a benefit for the diesel tax, dont need to worry about gas level/grey water tank and no questions asked when delivering the van. This made going home stress free :)
Simon Braeck thanks for the detailed answer! Do you remember by any chance since when the van was in service? They state that the Deuce fleet is from 2009-2012 but in the videos they look almost like brand new :)
Sure :) No, but judging from the mileage, it was put into service well before we got there. But it was a joy to drive, so I can’t blame them. Bottom line; we were really happy with it and it kind of sparked our love for living on the road! :)
Great video Breack. It's a super comfy van. can I ask you how much did you pay for it? It will be helpful since I'm planning to visit as soon as the Pandemic is over. I tried mailing Mighty campers by the way.
You’re welcome! I don’t remember exactly, but I can recommend going in April/May like we did. Low season, pretty fall colors and much cheaper rates on the camper vans!
Thanks! There was a mountain pass between Queenstown and Wanaka you shouldn’t drive because the insurance didn’t cover it. Other than that we didn’t have any trouble getting around in it.
Simon you have explained about your Van very nicely 👍 Hope you both liked it very much 👍
Good review mate 👍 thanks for visiting NZ 🇳🇿
Thank you! Would love to come back one day, my favorite destination to be honest💛🤩
@@SimonBraeck the south island especially 👍 good luck
Very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Sure thing, thanks for watching😀
Very informative, great job! Will definitely rent a van like that if I ever go to New Zealand!
Thanks! Try to aim for the low season if you can, rates are much lower at that time of the year!
thank you for good information..... Nice video..
Thank you :)
Cheers, mate. Very informative.
No problem😊
Thanks for sharing, very informative video! One question: is the heater usable without external power?
Thanks! No, it needs external power in order to work😕
Useful Tks!

Simon Braeck thanks mate. I’ve seen other videos for the same vehicle which seem to have them. Maybe not something that’s fitted in to the NZ ones.
Thank u for good info !
No worries!
Informative video! What is the maximum number of days without visiting a powered campsite that you would recommend in the Deuce?

Thank you!😊 I’m sorry, I can’t remember the cost for the rental. I hope you get a great trip once you get there😎
Thanks for the nice clarifications.
I have question for you.
What is the cost per day?

Is there any huge diff between this one and maui version?
I don’t know, but they looked really similar.
My guess is that these are just the slightly older Maui campers that have been rebranded Mighty as it’s the same overall company.
Great video. I have a question, A vehicle this size has any road restrictions? like places won't be allow to go? Thanks

Great information thanks but background music way too distracting.
Thanks for the feedback :)
so much wasted space
Great video though
