Hi Melvin. Thank you for the update on your lemon seedlings. Would you consider removing one out of this shared pot to compare their growth progress & health, one with continued fertiliser and one giving it only water? I really believe the fertiliser isn't worth it, though I'm no expert. 😊 I will tag you on my lemon seedling tomorrow on Instagram to show you how fast my seedling regrew its leaves after I pruned most of them off, even though all I give it is water and it hardly gets any direct sunlight. I'm in England, so sun/light is a rarity. I know we already follow one another on there. Really enjoy following these series of yours. Thank you for how much time & effort you put into editing and uploading this content, it's much appreciated. Charlie x
Yes it’s finally here waiting on the mango series I enjoy you series and you have been blowing up just a month ago ago you had 25k I think quarantine has a lot of people looking forward to your channel
After the transplant and root chop, my mango seedling did nothing for a really long time. It stalled out from excess fertilizer for sure, because after I flushed out the pots the leaves greened and regained full turgor pressure and a new shoot started at the apical meristem. The new leaves look like they could be really big but the new growth is just sitting there. It's definitely alive, it's just taking so long to recover.
Thanks for watching! My channel has been surging throughout 2020, even before the stay-at-home orders. I looked at the stats of some other plant growing channels and while some definitely saw a surge in March, they peaked in early April as usual, while mine and some others blew up continuously until June. It's actually all of my old series and compilations that attract most of my traffic. I heard that UA-cam stopped suppressing smaller channels, but I don't know how true that is. Content creators never know what the UA-cam algogods will do next...
You should use mulching it help you retain the moisture you can you grass to put on your plants when you water you don’t have to worried about disturbing the root when first watering and mulch before you water
new leaves on citrus do tend to be really light green for a long time so dont get confused cause those bottom leaves are deffinatly maxed out on nitrogen imo
Have you used epsom salt around your plants? Also, what kind of vitamins did you use? Just a generic cheap one? Would you put that around all plants? Such as avocados, mangos, tomatoes and peppers?
I use mixed goat / cow dung with normal soil and peat for my seedling is this a bad idea? It currently has 2 / 3 tiny leaves. Should I stop using the fertilizer or just keep using it since they look healthy
Hello , my sprouts are 3 months old , I’m giving them 40ml water everyday !! They are in a light soil , and in Egypt it’s like 38 C these days !! They are in a sunny part of the balcony, am I watering them enough or do you have any advice please? Because two of them have slight yellow at the edge of the leaf and I’m not sure what is causing it!! Thank you
Hello Shahi Chan, I transplanted my lemon seedling a few months ago from 75% sand/25% clay soil to coco coir and that really helped. What is your light soil, is it actually clay/silt/sand from the wild or do you mean potting mix? 40 mL sounds like very little water, but it depends on the conditions and size of the container, and how much clay or organic material is in growing medium. A small container with just 40 mL water can easily dry out in 38 C heat.
@@TheMelvinWei oh it’s a potting mix but have some organic materials , it looked wet to me on the service so I worry to over water it , is there a way to show you pictures? Like Twitter or something , I think it would be easier than explaining. Thank you so much
Very helpful! I watched your earlier videos and planted 13 lemons seeds. I contracted covid and then fifteen days later, I came downstairs to see 10 sprouts bursting through. Unfortunately I have a gnat problem, probably because the soil I had on hand was potting soil. I used hydrogen peroxide for a soil cleansing, but the gnats are still there... my seedlings are shooting up 3-4 inches high with multiple leaves. I am going to create a better soil mixture with sand and then mix up some Neem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated~
Dude the MiraclGro box is the last place to get advice about how much fertilizer. They’re not trying to help your plants, they’re trying to sell fertilizer.
Hydrogen peroxide in low concentrations can be very beneficial in that it breaks down into oxygen for the roots to breathe and disinfects, but ultimately the most important factor is to have a growing medium that's breathable and doesn't have organic matter in it (the decay uses up the oxygen in the soil). That's why I grow my plants in mostly sand these days.
Hi Melvin … I "hate" you... it's your fault! it's all your fault! I have because of you and a few other UA-camrs Lemons, oranges, tangerines, three lychees, four mango trees☹️. And I want to plant more and I'm running out of space ☹️. Btw I don't hate you you're really correct❤️🥰. I wish I had more space and a huge greenhouse… 😓then I would have even more trees 😅. Could you do this with a coconut palm tree, for example?🤔. I find such videos really interesting and I regret that I didn't take any pictures of my trees because they grow so fast 😬
I planted 5 orange trees about 2 months ago and and all of them are growing queekly and I olso have a 1 year old lemon tree that used to grow slowly but now its grows queekly for some reason but it seems that orange trees grow faster than lemon treesm
My lemon is not growing after like 7 days what did I do worng I didnt germinate and o removed the skin off the seed and the other seed still has the lemon shell
What kind of soil is that? It looks very compact! The plant roots needs a lot of oxygen to survive healthily! Your soil is so compact impossible for creating oxygen for the roots!
Great video. Please remember that lemon trees don't like wet feet so please don't over water, and use fertiliser only once every 60 days or so, with much less fertiliser.
He is probably miracle gro #1 customer
Do coconut growing series it would be amazing
It really would be tho

Hey look! Too much fertilizer again!
Drowning with water can cause the roots to rot.
yah but thats 75% sand and has fair draining so its all good
Great video Melvin are you going to keep your trees around to produce fruit I have grown my lemon tree 4 years ago and it produced fruit this year
Mine are about 3 inches tall, planted them about 2 weeks ago.
They recovered nicely, I hope you will see more growth soon.
keep up this series its the best!
YES THANK YOU I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ANOTHER UPDATE
Please do a kumquat series
I was literally refreshing the UA-cam page last few days to see if you posted something about the lemon trees.
Ok keep posting more I enjoy it
Instead of making holes on the bottom corners of your pot you should have made holes underneath.

Ik that when you posted you pomegranate I could see the mango it showed new growth and I started to grow my own mango

Looking forward to see the progress now. Almost the end of July 2020
Do aloe Vera or bean growing series it would be great
When will there be a mango tree update?
new leaves on citrus do tend to be really light green for a long time so dont get confused cause those bottom leaves are deffinatly maxed out on nitrogen imo
Can’t wait for the Mango update
My lemons are currently at this stage but i think when it grows more i may need to graft
I watch your videos often but I most anxious to see the mango tree videos, was that a mango tree in 2:32 on the left
Have you ever read about toxicity of micronutrients
Have you used epsom salt around your plants? Also, what kind of vitamins did you use? Just a generic cheap one? Would you put that around all plants? Such as avocados, mangos, tomatoes and peppers?
I bet you have like 1 ton of fertilizer somewhere in your house lol

i think the problem you are facing is with the soil, its too hard and compact for the roots to pentrate, not enough root system means limited folliage
He's using sand, which is totally fine.
What’s your opinion on using hydrogen peroxide with water to help plant growth?

You give those plants too much water when you water them HolyCr4P

I never get them beyond two or three leaves.they grow reslly fast ince sprouted after five crntre metres.

I didnt germinate and o removed the skin off the seed and the other seed still has the lemon shell
Wait another week, sometimes seeds take longer to germinate.
My lemon seeds took roughly 2-3 weeks to germinate. Lemon trees are slowwwww growers.
My lemon seed took more than a month to germinate
Ok thanks
Also my avocado container has alot of caterpillars the ones with 44 legs and its black

It's sand. Wouldn't say it's too compacted. The grain size is rather big. Just imagine how citrus trees grow in native soil.
I agree.
sometimes less fertilizer is more
You used the wrong measurement for miracle grow. You’re supposed to use the small side of the measuring spoon for 1 gallon.
Omg all that Water 💦 swimming pool 😂
Miracle grow sucks bro, even if you use a small amount at a time the salts will build up after a few months and burn your plants either way
You're probably using the wrong fertilizer for it.
MiracleGro offers citrus food and regular plant food
Hi
Can I have your email for business inquiry?
hi

Stop adding fertiliser omg
Great video. Please remember that lemon trees don't like wet feet so please don't over water, and use fertiliser only once every 60 days or so, with much less fertiliser.
