Installing Sliding Gates on a Slope

- Grant answers an important question about sliding driveway gates or rolling gates as they are also known that run on a track and that is whether they can be a on driveway that slopes or a hill side gate as it is also known. He takes this further explaining what to do when a driveway is uneven or ground to the side of the driveway is at a different slope and what to do when side room is limited by using a telescopic or stacker gate. Sliding gates are also known as rolling gates.

This has to be the BEST explanation video in describing the obstacles that can be encountered during designing a slide gate installation. I am a seasoned designer / builder and know these things and fortunately am knowledgeable and don't have any issues but have always said that I would like to make a video that would explain exactly what have succeeded in doing. Again, to all watching this video, this man knows his business - you best pay attention. Please add your name so people can recognize this contribution to you personally for taken the time to share your knowledge. God Speed
This guy is the real deal. Excellent and thorough explanation of this process.
thank you so much, very helpful on my designing process
Adding a hydraulic damper should help the motor reducing the downhill pressure.
Thank you so much for this information! It's exactly what I was searching for and more!
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice video! I need to figure out a system similar for my wood fence. Just the track and wheels. I don’t need it motorized.
Awsome .......... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 loud and clear
Glad you liked it
❤❤❤❤loved your video❤❤❤❤❤ thanks
Thanks a lot
Nice videos. Thank you. I am struggling to trust the nylon block in an aluminum channel, seeing as gates tend to be heavy. How much do they actually support the gate?
Thanks
Thank you! Is it possible to install a sliding gate on a driveway that slopes downward (rather than across)? I am worried that the track will be laid at an angle that would prevent the gate from operating in an upright position. Thanks in advance!
These are awesome options! Very well explained and easily understandable! Question: Can the bi-fold or quad-fold gate be a good option for a rising driveway?
folding gates can go on a rising driveway if it's not too steep
What program are you using for this simulation I would like to use this to design future projects would look amazing
Great information thank you, the videos have been very helpful, question My driveway has 80 mm drop over a 3500mm wide gate opening, i want to use a square gate, can i set one of the rollers 80mm higher over the full 3500mm gate
You could pack one wheel by 80mm but it doesn't look as nice and you will have trouble fitting the rack for the motor if its to be automated, best to rake the bottom of the gate if it's automatic.
Hi . Regards From Czech Republic . Please which motors allow me to set the gate in a 95-100 degrees up hill ? I can find it here . Thank you
Right at the very end of this video
You mentioned a common mistake I think in regards to concrete pad & gate footing being level.
Then your company logo comes on the screen blocking what you were explaining 😀
Amigo, gostaria de saber a possibilidade de utilizar algum conteúdo de teus vídeos em meu canal do UA-cam, destacaria teu canal nos conteúdos, ele é de tua autoria mesmo?
I can’t seem to find where to buy the nylon roller and post guide. I’m in the states.
Nylon guide rollers are common in the states I believe but the nylon blocks are not, these are an Aussie thing I think.
How to make the roller go up and down automatically following the fence on an inclined plane. Please answer, make a video..hello from bali Indonesia
Never on a slope, if gearbox fails gate could run free and seriously injure or even kill some one, also no mention of safety edges photo cells and force testing.
