Yes, Mamamoo won. Queendom ran from Aug to Oct 2019. The other contestants were Park Bom (of 2NE1), Oh My Girl, AOA, (G)I-dle and Lovelyz. For this "Fan-dora's Box" round the contestants had to do a song suggested by their fans. You're correct - MMM took the spirit of the fan round to heart and turned I Miss You into a love song to moomoos with a new rap verse by Moonbyul and the video clips going from their trainee days to their shout outs to moomoos after music show wins. They were the only group to take this approach to the assignment. I don't think there was a dry moo eye in the audience. Imo I Miss You and MMM's Immortal Songs covers are some of the best live vocal performances you'll ever hear by a kpop girl group. I Miss You was originally released in 2016 and at that time Moonbyul only sang harmony. She didn't start singing her own lines until 2018. Their other Queendom performances include Hello (their beautiful self-introduction song), Decalcomanie, a cover of AOA's Good Luck, and the premiere of Destiny. There was also a duet by Hwasa and Kei of Lovelyz covering Billie Eilish's Wish You Were Gay, a solo dance by Moonbyul, and a team dance with one member from each group including Moonbyul. In the Killing Voice medley, this song almost feels like primarily a Solar song. In this full version Wheein really shines without taking anything away from Solar. Near the end Hwasa sings a descending run that usually goes un-noticed. I have heard singers react to this performance who marvel at how controlled and stable her voice was through that. And then, of course, there's Moonbyul's rap. It comes at the right time, in the right tone and with the right rhythm to make the song so much better.
Mamamoo has got such amazing vocals. I wish they had sung this at their concert, but even though they didn't, they still slayed and I'm happy that my first kpop concert was Mamamoo. Plus, lightstick. The Moobong, is so cute!! I have mine safely on a shelf in my room where they are waiting patiently for the next time they come to Texas, be it as soloists or as a group. I was sad when it was restocked because apparently my credit union won't let you use a debit card for an order from the area they are shipped from.😢 Luckily. a very nice MooMoo that was attending the same concert as me ordered 2 and offered me one if we split the cost. My friend ordered one too and gave me hers after the concert as well. 😊😊😊
i love showing people this one, it's one of my go-to's for being like no This is what i mean when i say they can SING. i know some people can get annoyed by the reaction cuts but i think it's super cute seeing their colleagues also freaking out over their voices lol. although if you do check out the good luck queendom performance at some point, that's the one I'd say has the most annoying reaction cuts... but they also are really funny so up to you which version you prefer to watch if it does come up XD this first season of queendom is also such a good watch, it's so wholesome?? the show did what these shows do and tried to get the drama going but mamamoo especially wasn't having it and did their best to keep things fun yes but also very friendly, so there's so many good interactions throughout. Along with mamamoo there were 5 other competitors: Park Bom (soloist, member of 2NE1), AOA, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl, and (G)I-DLE. Bom and AOA are mamamoo's seniors and 2ne1 was actually a big role model for mamamoo, so those interactions are adorable af, the other 3 groups are their juniors and it was pretty clear they look up to mamamoo (one of the other groups said at the beginning of the show they thought if mamamoo was there they'd be there as mentors rather than another contestant 🤣). overall a very fun watch and any of the performances are worth checking out if not the whole show thanks for checking this out! ^_^
I think u should also check out moonbyul's performances in second world. It was a relity show for rappers to show their vocal skills and she won❤😊 All her perfonmances were top tierrrr, you can see more of her singing style there❤
