Boggles my mind how these churches come up with these budgets.

Looks more like a concert to me. Feels like I would be going to see a Justin Timberlake concert than going to church.

clearly you don’t know how lighting adds to an experience. why not play the music with a single acoustic guitar? we give our best effort to God. otherwise why would we be called to church production?

@@chupacabrathealien8307 at my church where we have a pretty big setup of moving lights and such, the idea of the lighting aspect is to further the worship experience by creating engaging atmospheres. We use color theory and gobos to add another layer to the experience through visual things on top of sonically. Life church has never been super great at differentiating between entertainment and worship in my opinion, but it really is all about how you program the lighting. I guess my point is that big lighting rigs CAN be used for worship, life church just doesnt do it very well. (Also its good for someone like me who has absolutely no musical talent as a way to worship and honor the King though my work.)

There's an important balance most LD's don't understand between worship lights and concert lights. In worship, less is more at times. People don't wan't spots in their eyes if they are trying to focus on the worship and not the band. The lights should be there to aid the band in creating a comfortable atmosphere and less so about creating a visually stimulating experience. It's why when a high talent LD shows off at a concert it's seen as awesome but it worship it's seen as making it about the "show" and less about the lord. This doesn't mean there's no room for creativity, but there are different rules to play by.
