Well it intended for area control at least thats how i use it, i never expect to actually get a kill with it, but basically im choosing to fight where i place it and it can combo with many weapons too
Lemee just say they should NOT have a 2 shot kill shooter in the game. Its innacuracy kicks in some frames after you pop out and start shooting, but by then youve already gotten the kill
My top 5 goes like this: (Keep in mind, i play both the Splatanas, Range Blaster, and Dynamo Roller.) 5: Crab Tank. Same reasons stated here. Its like a combination of a Hydra Splatling and an Explosher, two of my least favorite weapons to play against, but also has 500 hp and a ball form for an easy escape. As someone who plays two of the slowest weapons in the game, with awful object damage, a Crab Tank is my cue to just take cover and pray. 4: Booyah Bomb. Theres something so infuriating about approaching someone, knowing that you'll splat them, only for them to press the "no thanks" button and gain 450 extra hp, so you physically cant kill them, and have to back off. Also, why does the player still have armor for like a second AFTER throwing the Booyah Bomb? So many times, i try to punish the Booyah Bomb user after the special ends, but somehow they still have armor, and then they splat me instead... The Booyah Bomb user should be vulnerable and lose the armor the FRAME that they throw the explosion. 3: Big Bubbler. Nothing is worse than facing a Splat Roller in Tower Control, having them place their bubble on the tower, and knowing full well that theres nothing you can do about it. With Range Blaster and Dynamo Roller, my object damage is just not enough to break the bubble from outside, but climbing the tower into a roller is just suicide... It feels like theres no good counterplay unless your whole team works together, which wont happen in solo queue. 2: Tenta Missiles. The nerf made them much more bearable, but im heavily biased against them. As someone who plays both Range Blaster and Dynamo Roller, seeing the missiles coming down as im fighting someone usually leads to a swift death, and it always feels like i couldnt have done a lot to avoid it. That on top of the global range and zero counterplay (no way to avoid being targeted and displaced) makes them feel very uninteractive and lame. 1: Reefslider. Its not the most broken special or anything like that, but its just incredibly annoying, and i hate the way they handled this special. It feels like every attempt to buff it just makes its design worse and more annoying, without solving the actual problem. Its supposed to be an entry tool that you can use to brute force yourself through enemy lines and get in, but the endlag made that impossible. And instead of removing the endlag, they just made it cheese zones and be a super fast, invincible panic button. Because thats great design...
I completely agree with everything you say in this video now that I main dualies now. Although my number 1 is booyah bomb, it can be hard to avoid when you don't pay attention
I never thought about which specials I hate the most in this game but I know for a fact that inkjet would place somewhere in my top 5. as a short range slayer player my role is to go in and get kills but when someone pops an inkjet I feel useless cause its hard asf to hit even when its in reach and then sometimes when it boosts I'm unable to hit it

As a non duelie player I hate wail. It can instantly encumber 3 players for 6 seconds at any time from anywhere. It’s a sting ray that targets multiple people with 0 risk.

Tbh, with you being a dualie player, I thought Reefslider was going to be on your list of least favorite specials since it's stuck on two dualies that play very similar to each other. (3 if you count Splashdown since Reefslider is basically a variant of Splashdown) The dualie class in general seriously deserve to have better and more variety of options in special weapons overall.
Man, Wavebreaker needs a buff, man! Frankly, it's easy enough to avoid in most scenarios, so I feel like they should either make it unbreakable, so all three waves are guaranteed, or keep it breakable and increase the number of waves to 4-5.
This was a pretty good video, made me chuckle. I'm not surprised at Killer Wail. It always seems to deal WAY more damage than you expect, and there are always those weird cases where you get stuck and can't move out of the way easily. It's surprisingly annoying.

I don't even play dualies and wail still has to be at the top of my list when a wail locks on to you and your teamate it makes it really really easy to be killed by your teamates wail and I know this is kind of a thing with tenta missiles too but man I feels so much worse on wail
Killer wail is awful for brellas too. It just goes through the the shield dealing damage to it as well as you, kind of just locking you out of half of what makes your weapon usable
Killer wail 5.1 definitely annoys me at times with teammates moving in the same direction causing you to get lazered, I could definitely see why the high endlag of tetras would cause them to really dislike fighting wail though. For me personally these are the specials I dislike fighting. weapons I play are dapples, octobrush, vdualies, gloogas, and nautilus Trizooka: the startup is way too quick, and you can just die out of nowhere way too often. The gravity drop also can make it deceptively difficult to even hide from the special, as people will arc their shots over cover and high ground. Kraken royale: The special gets so much stronger when the slightest bit of lag is involved, as you can't really juke it out any more and just have to run away. Also kraken cheese is dumb. Ultra stamp: a few of the weapons I play basically can't touch the ultra stamp even from behind, now that the stamping radius is so big. I basically have to sit and wait while stamp completely pushes me out of the objective with nothing I can do about it. Alternatively when I play a weapon that can cheese the protection it just feels cheap. Big bubbler: I could accept the special if the internal beakon didn't also act like a second wall. If I go through the effort to fight my way inside your little protection dome, it should be a fair fight. You shouldn't then basically have another backup splash wall inside you can use to shut down attempts to counter you. triple splashdown: I just don't have the reaction time (or oftentimes I don't have the time) to be able to splat the user on reaction. So triple splashdown being popped means I just have to leave the area ASAP, which often isn't fast enough. The sheer range at which triple splashdown can splat you from full you is also pretty crazy.

Honestly, even though I don't necessarily specialize in dualies, I have to agree with the #1 spot on this list. Killer Wail 5.1 isn't even fun to go up against in general. It's a special that forces you to move out of the way, and it has some properties that I dislike that Tenta Missiles don't even have, most of that being the global range in a literal way. Unlike Missiles, it's not just targeting specific players, but it's also going to affect anyone that happens to be within your X and Z radius, meaning you could easily accidentally kill a teammate if you weren't aware of their exact positioning. I find missiles fine to go up against nowadays, but Killer Wail just feels awful to both use and go up against.
My least favorite special to fight is booyah bomb. usually I'm fine with it but when I wanna casually play turf and I see someone using 3 pures of special charge on Gold Aerospray getting around 10ish booyah bombs. any other weapon with booyah bomb is fine it's just gold aerospray is extreemly annoying.
I agree that 5.1 is difficult to deal for sure. As a dynamo main, if im in a location with lots of enemy ink, my only way of surviving is to paint and move. But dynamo is so slow that itd be impossible to flick and paint, in order to move.
i think out of these 5 speacials, wave breaker deff needs a buff. i get that it's called (wave *breaker*), but it breaks way to easily with not enought waves
Ah yes. As an avid wail user being a vbrush one trick I can confirm they are very annoying. And I’m sorry for all the pain it has caused players. However, before Nintendo buffed my weapon, it was struggling a bit. It has always been midtier so I think wail justifies it and gave vbrush a chance at being a higher tier weapon.
Whenever I'm using a weapon with killer wail I actively look for a dualie user to point it at. Not only does it mess up their ability to roll safely but since I'm just a solo que only player there's a good chance they'll panic and roll anyway causing the lasers to spaz out all over the place making it much worse for their team overall. Pretty sure 90% of my deaths to wail has been when a panicked teammate has swept it back and forth over top of me Honestly not sure which special is my least favorite to fight since I switch between weapons a lot but I'll go with zooka for it's ability to delete me in the blink of an eye without much warning.
For me Triple Splashdown is the most annoying to face, simply bcs it's hard to cancel it, avoid it, and you can't even put a bomb on the floor bcs it will then be deleted (similar to booyah bomb and ultra stamp deleting bombs)

I think killer wail 5.1 should of functioned more like Splatoon 1 killer wail, so it'll have a radius that extends trough the stage like killer wail and anyone who goes inside that radius gets tracked by the wails, it has a smaller radius and it's not insta kill like the OG killer wail but it lasts longer and it acts more of like a area denial. I think they could add it as a new mode that activates when you double tap L stick, then they could revert the damage buffs to the regular mode of killer wail 5.1
i use blasters, this is my top 5 (worst to fight against). 1. TRI SRTIKE. MAN THEY ARE ANNOYINGLY HARD TO DODGE WITH BLASTERS (my opinion) 2. Triple splashdown. also HARD AS HELL TO DODGE. i still like to play with it because i JUMPSCARE people with both the blaster and the splasdown 3. crab tank. same explanation 4. trizooka. 5. kraken.
Killer Wail is up there for me because of the latency. I can be doing nothing and then a Killer is targetted on me and I just get splatted with no other people shooting at me and I'm just trying to dodge it the whole time. It doesn't matter if the latency is that great. Similarly with the Ultra Hammer. If there's no latency, easy to splat it. Otherwise, I have to swim away and they have a huge hitbox like 5x more so I get splatted like a mile away. I love Wavebreaker because I spam it and put a lot of pressure with it. No opinion against it tho. Tenta missiles is the least annoying special to me since I constantly move. It gives plenty of time to dodge it too. Pretty much worthless.
I definitely agree about Killer Wail. I main Dualies and Splatanas but even when I'm not using Dualies I still hate it. The damage buff I think was so stupid. And hard agree 52Gal has got to me the most talentless shit in the game next to Brushes and those Aerospray/Sploosh players that do nothing but paint in Turf War. Gonna have to disagree about Crab though. I love Crab Tank. It's why I often use V-Splat Dualies not to mention Neo Stamper and after the nerfs I think it's actually a cool and skillful special. It also kinda gets countered by nearly every other special not to mention Buckets and flanking Brushes plus Chargers/Bows can also snipe the pilot so I don't see how people find Crab to be annoying or OP anymore. Hard agree about 52Gal though. Among the most talentless weapons alongside Aerospray, Sploosh, Brushes and Rollers imo.

If anything I expected Wave Breaker to be higher bc you use tetras since Wave Breaker is bad except against tetras and gloogas where Wave Breaker automatically negates both weapons.
As a brella main here's the reasons why we hate these specials: 1) Crab tank: Not only can they shred our shield but they can kill us too and their burst shot can literally go through our shield 2) Kraken Royal: They literally go through our shields and kill usand it get worse if it's one that have object shredder. 3) tenta missle: Brellas have some sort of end lag and very slow turning speed so of course we're most likely to get hit with said tenta missles 4) Triple splashdown: We can survive it but we never do cause the radius of the fists are gigantic and if we're nowhere at the edge of the splashdown, we're more deader than black people in horror movies cause even when we thought we escaped we are always proven wrong and die anyway. Triple inkstrike: Bro Nintendo needs to fix our end lag cause those be our main opps if we don't see them in time The main 2 are the biggest issues: Reefslider: like no matter what! I think that Crab Tank should have its range increase with firerate, just like the hydra has a shorter range if you don’t charge the first circle. (Only in PvP, not SR :)) I do really want that missile hitbox nerf in SR tho!

As a sniper user, I agree with the killer whale opinion it is really annoying because you can’t ink turf to be able to move away from it and it gets you out of very good high ground
52. gal is my worst nightmare and i just had a game with a full team of them who would just use killer wail simultaneously so there would be total of 24 killer lasers just blasting everywhere was pure and utter hell with splash walls guarding them. Chase was hella accurate with "f*ck that weapon"

the only special I truly dislike is triple splashdown, though killerwail is annoying as well I've read some threads on reddit a while ago and apparently most people dont have a problem with splashdown at all. Imo it is by FAR the strongest special in the entire game, nothing comes close to it. I gotta say there that Im fairly new the game (I started in september, currently in S rank) but my kill to death ration is relatively good. But splashdown and the bidet are things I greatly struggle with. If I dont die through superjumping or ganking, its most likely a bidet or the splashdown
i dont mind facing crab because im a reeflux main but i really hate using it. I also completely understand the killer wail placement because it is a massive tetra counter and dualies overall

I think everyones least favourite special is tenta missles. Also hopefully u get 30k soon keep up the great work
My least favorite special to fight is booyah bomb. usually I'm fine with it but when I wanna casually play turf and I see someone using 3 pures of special charge on Gold Aerospray getting around 10ish booyah bombs. any other weapon with booyah bomb is fine it's just gold aerospray is extreemly annoying.
but on an overall scale it would be Ultra Stamp purely because most of the weapons I play can't kill it (Blasters, Splatanas, and Chargers)
I agree that 5.1 is difficult to deal for sure. As a dynamo main, if im in a location with lots of enemy ink, my only way of surviving is to paint and move. But dynamo is so slow that itd be impossible to flick and paint, in order to move.
i think out of these 5 speacials, wave breaker deff needs a buff. i get that it's called (wave *breaker*), but it breaks way to easily with not enought waves
Ah yes. As an avid wail user being a vbrush one trick I can confirm they are very annoying. And I’m sorry for all the pain it has caused players. However, before Nintendo buffed my weapon, it was struggling a bit. It has always been midtier so I think wail justifies it and gave vbrush a chance at being a higher tier weapon.
Whenever I'm using a weapon with killer wail I actively look for a dualie user to point it at. Not only does it mess up their ability to roll safely but since I'm just a solo que only player there's a good chance they'll panic and roll anyway causing the lasers to spaz out all over the place making it much worse for their team overall. Pretty sure 90% of my deaths to wail has been when a panicked teammate has swept it back and forth over top of me
Honestly not sure which special is my least favorite to fight since I switch between weapons a lot but I'll go with zooka for it's ability to delete me in the blink of an eye without much warning.
For me Triple Splashdown is the most annoying to face, simply bcs it's hard to cancel it, avoid it, and you can't even put a bomb on the floor bcs it will then be deleted (similar to booyah bomb and ultra stamp deleting bombs)
Yeah I totally get ya Chase Killer Wail 5.1 definitely annoying to fight against, I know it's a little less annoying w a shooter, but for me it just as annoying especially when u have to keep dodging the mini Killer Wail lazers
Wavebreaker is towards the bottom for me, purely because of the sound it makes, I love it 😌
As a glooga user I HATE killer wail its even worse for gloogas because of the limited dodge rolls and heavy endlag :(
I do heavily agree with the fact that crab has too much range. Why does it get a hydra and explo mode with e-liter range

I saw the number 1 coming a mile away. I main tetra and that recent buff they gave wail ANNIHILATES you if you so much as think about dodge rolling, even once

Omg. Yes killer wail will kill you so fast as a dualie player. The moment one targeted you, might as well not play the game.
I think killer wail 5.1 should of functioned more like Splatoon 1 killer wail, so it'll have a radius that extends trough the stage like killer wail and anyone who goes inside that radius gets tracked by the wails, it has a smaller radius and it's not insta kill like the OG killer wail but it lasts longer and it acts more of like a area denial. I think they could add it as a new mode that activates when you double tap L stick, then they could revert the damage buffs to the regular mode of killer wail 5.1
i use blasters, this is my top 5 (worst to fight against).
1. TRI SRTIKE. MAN THEY ARE ANNOYINGLY HARD TO DODGE WITH BLASTERS (my opinion)
2. Triple splashdown. also HARD AS HELL TO DODGE. i still like to play with it because i JUMPSCARE people with both the blaster and the splasdown
3. crab tank. same explanation
4. trizooka.
5. kraken.
Killer Wail is up there for me because of the latency. I can be doing nothing and then a Killer is targetted on me and I just get splatted with no other people shooting at me and I'm just trying to dodge it the whole time. It doesn't matter if the latency is that great. Similarly with the Ultra Hammer. If there's no latency, easy to splat it. Otherwise, I have to swim away and they have a huge hitbox like 5x more so I get splatted like a mile away.
I love Wavebreaker because I spam it and put a lot of pressure with it. No opinion against it tho.
Tenta missiles is the least annoying special to me since I constantly move. It gives plenty of time to dodge it too. Pretty much worthless.
I definitely agree about Killer Wail. I main Dualies and Splatanas but even when I'm not using Dualies I still hate it. The damage buff I think was so stupid. And hard agree 52Gal has got to me the most talentless shit in the game next to Brushes and those Aerospray/Sploosh players that do nothing but paint in Turf War.
Gonna have to disagree about Crab though. I love Crab Tank. It's why I often use V-Splat Dualies not to mention Neo Stamper and after the nerfs I think it's actually a cool and skillful special. It also kinda gets countered by nearly every other special not to mention Buckets and flanking Brushes plus Chargers/Bows can also snipe the pilot so I don't see how people find Crab to be annoying or OP anymore. Hard agree about 52Gal though. Among the most talentless weapons alongside Aerospray, Sploosh, Brushes and Rollers imo.
Nah bro I predicted killer wail at 1 BECAUSE I HATE IT TOO i shark and wait for the tower to come near with stamper to one shot them and take tower BUT THEN my teammate runs behind me with wail AND THE WAIL KILLS ME THEN WE LOST I hate it
If anything I expected Wave Breaker to be higher bc you use tetras since Wave Breaker is bad except against tetras and gloogas where Wave Breaker automatically negates both weapons.
This should've been called Duelies' LEAST favorite specials
As a brella main here's the reasons why we hate these specials:
1) Crab tank: Not only can they shred our shield but they can kill us too and their burst shot can literally go through our shield
2) Kraken Royal: They literally go through our shields and kill usand it get worse if it's one that have object shredder.
3) tenta missle: Brellas have some sort of end lag and very slow turning speed so of course we're most likely to get hit with said tenta missles
4) Triple splashdown: We can survive it but we never do cause the radius of the fists are gigantic and if we're nowhere at the edge of the splashdown, we're more deader than black people in horror movies cause even when we thought we escaped we are always proven wrong and die anyway.
Triple inkstrike: Bro Nintendo needs to fix our end lag cause those be our main opps if we don't see them in time
The main 2 are the biggest issues:
Reefslider: like no matter what! We die to this thing I every spot we're in shyt even behind walks
INKJET: Have you ever tried fighting a really good inkjet with a brella!? That is horrible bro like i have to get lucky they don't kill me through my shield in 1 shot
I think that Crab Tank should have its range increase with firerate, just like the hydra has a shorter range if you don’t charge the first circle. (Only in PvP, not SR :))
I do really want that missile hitbox nerf in SR tho!

Killer wail is hard to deal with when I use a Splatling or charger. So the kill wail is near the top of my least favorite specials too.

As someone who frequently uses vBow, I will try to single out Dualies (or anything with end lag) with Wail
As a sniper user, I agree with the killer whale opinion it is really annoying because you can’t ink turf to be able to move away from it and it gets you out of very good high ground
It's so funny hearing you swear about Wavebreaker because normally you never say anything bad but this makes you really mad
52. gal is my worst nightmare and i just had a game with a full team of them who would just use killer wail simultaneously so there would be total of 24 killer lasers just blasting everywhere was pure and utter hell with splash walls guarding them. Chase was hella accurate with "f*ck that weapon"

I would say that killer whale hurts more weapon then dulies, as a stringer main, I can’t get any shots out when there’s a whale.
I don‘t main dualies and Killer Wail is still one of the most annoying specials to face for me

I've read some threads on reddit a while ago and apparently most people dont have a problem with splashdown at all. Imo it is by FAR the strongest special in the entire game, nothing comes close to it. I gotta say there that Im fairly new the game (I started in september, currently in S rank) but my kill to death ration is relatively good. But splashdown and the bidet are things I greatly struggle with. If I dont die through superjumping or ganking, its most likely a bidet or the splashdown
right because triple splashdown is a required part of your comps
cooler, inkjet, zooka, crab, and so many specials are better than splashdown
i dont mind facing crab because im a reeflux main but i really hate using it. I also completely understand the killer wail placement because it is a massive tetra counter and dualies overall
