Depends upon how the LLC is taxed. A single member disregarded LLC wouldn't help, because the beneficial owner is still a foreign person. The LLC would have to be taxed as a C corporation or a domestic partnership.
@@JasonDKnott So a SM LLC would be withholding part of the distributions but a partnership would not? I thought SM LLCs were passthroughs, same as MM LLC (partnerships)
Let's say Sam has a portfolio of US based company stocks that pay dividends. Assuming the brokerge withholds the taxes (30%) Sam would not file anything with the IRS. Am I understanding your presentation correctly? Also, what if Sam is married to a US Citizen and he and his wife choose to treat him as a resident for tax purpose and file a joint income tax return (pub 519). How would Sam's FBAR interest/dividends of 30% via 1042 foriegn investor be reduced to reflect his joint return status with his US citizen wife?
Super confused about US LLC formation as NON US Resident My question is what's the benefit of forming a llc for non US residents for Amazon. I am from Bangladesh which has a tax treaty. When I put my own country's tax id the default tax withholding becomes 10% for royalties earned from amazon us market. My question is, if I even form a single member US LLC then after getting EIN or even ITIN, will amazon make the default tax withholding 0%? I guess no. It will be 10% as I reside in Bangladesh though my LLC will have US Address and phone number. Please correct me if I am wrong here. In this case, what's the benefit I get if I form a US llc? Just share your ideas please.
Great Video! Thanks. Going through the example you have given. If Sam would have opened a regular LLC, he would have not been withholded taxes, right?
