@@Ximantus That's why i said it was inspired, not an exact replica. The lore of hidden blades is also stated that it gets activated by wrist movement, but it's not really feasible irl so the string is necessary.
@@Anim3ddicted actually some assassins have different hidden blades Altaïr and Ezio had the string like hidden blades, Edward's was a tension in the muscles, and Connor's/most of the other assassin's hidden blades were more of a flick
that thing would flop around, there's only one fastening point and the blade goes out to the fullest extent. once extended there would be a single point holding the blade in, so it would be able to wobble side to side. easy to fix, catastrophic to the end product if not fixed
@@CorruptionManX look I may not understand fully the lore of this ficticious organisations, nor the weapon employed by said organisation, but I do have at least a rudimentary understanding of how fastening points work, and an above room temperature IQ which allows me to see the flaws with this design
@@TR_Arktik This design was inspired by the knives with OTF system where the locking system is exactly like this one, knives with OTF system are used by the military for their portability and safety of use. I've had an OTF knife for years, I use it against objects and the lock still keeps the blade in place. So I say with propriety that the system works well.
You pull the string. The blade shoots out and locks. It stays locked until you pull the string again. Then the blade goes back into the chamber and locks inside. Rinse and repeat

@@JTheBest-nj7lz you would have to release the blade with the pull string on a finger, hoping it has a light trigger, and if it did, I'd really hope it's not so light that it would become easily unsheathed. Also saying it never catches on the pull string, how would you open your hand, pulling a string out far enough while extending your hand at such a 90 degree angle so you dont get your fingers cut off. It's not a pull string.
@@JG93B these are good points if you never used one before but I can tell you that the string pull is not light and not heavy enough to struggle but just right to pull on it. Also the only why that the strings would interfere with the blade popping out if you misplaced the hidden blade on your forearm. And you can adjust the string size to a comfortable size such as 6-7cm from the exit of the model to your pinky or ring finger and it doesn’t always have to be a 90 degree angle to work.Also I almost forgot to mention that the pull string gets caught on the circular model using a small knot that pulls the blade in and out

it actually won't work, but i saw a different issue. look closely to the string attach on the gear with 2 teeth I say. If It works like using the string to pull the teeth and make the gear turn. the teeth will not turn due to its direction. it should face the opposite direction to the string in order to drag it and turn the gear. sry for my english
