Summary: Aaron postpones his drink with Ed to stay with Adam. When Aaron eventually arrives at the pub to meet Ed, it's too late. Ed leaves, explaining that as he only has one week left, he doesn't want to spend it just talking about Adam or being messed around. Aaron's left devastated.
Totally insightful post. Aaron's behaviour is not about unrequited love for Adam, it is a fear of committing to another relationship when the last one ended so painfully. He also feels obligated to Adam because Adam was there for him when he needed him to be and he completely understands what Adam is going through because he has gone through it himself. Anyone questioning Aaron's feelings for Ed needs to take a look at the expression on his face when Ed says it is over. He is completely gutted.
Yes, FINALLY. ED LET HIM HAVE IT. I am like you are sick of Aaron finding an excuse to pretend like he doesn't care for you & putting all his energy into Adam.

Well in a scene with Edna this summer in 2014 Edna figures out Aaron is IN LOVE with Adam. Aaron liked Ed but he would do ANTHING for Adam the whole France thing was proof that Adam is the man Aaron has always loved.

Looking back that was a very weird scene considering him supposedly being in love with Adam never came up again or led to anything.
totally agree..I think their friendship has gone way past mere friendship/romantic stage even if they wanted if to be which they don't.Adam has seen him through some pretty horrific times going right back to when Aaron messed with Carl's brakes ( before chas) wanted anything to do with A. that he wants to be there for his mate the one time that he truly needs him is completely understandable and his feelings for Ed are oh so obvious when he had to text Ed telling him he'd be late

I can't blame Ed for what he said, I mean he's right, he wants to spend time with Aaron and show him how much he care and want him to come along with him to France but all Aaron cares about is Adam and Ed is also right that Adam has other people around him. I seriously think the only reason Aaron is being hesitate is because Adam has been there for him for him during the biggest trials of his life and I guess this is his way of paying him back by finally being there for him, which I can understand but at the same time, he is being kinda selfish to Ed as well.
He wanted to go with Ed but he has more loyalty to Adam because of, like you said, Adam being there for him fro everything. I do feel sorry for Aaron. Everyone is turning against him even when he is doing his best. Adam is the selfish one. He is letting his friend fro it all away because of his mistakes. Aaron "loves" him. (Not loves in that way) and is willing to do that. Tbf I would as well. A boyfriend or girlfriend can be replaced but friendship as strong as theirs can't be very easily. Lol. But I agree.

I was so happy to see Ed finally put Aaron in his place. Aaron has been taking Ed for granted for too long! If Aaron isn't interested, let Ed go because Ed can choose from many other hot guys who will be totally into Ed.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would blame Ed. Aaron's brought this on himself.
Aaron is torn between Ed and Adam but he is not being honest with himself or Ed.Adam is not just Aaron's friend he has unrequited strong feelings for him. Aaron may like Ed but he does not love him.Aaron is probably afraid of moving to France because his life is in the village. Adam means the world to Aaron too bad the writers never made them a couple.

Poor Aaron. Without Adam as an excuse, he'll have to face that he's in love again & feels guilty about it. He needs to know that loving Ed is not turning his back on Jackson. He'll always love Jackson & their brief time together, but 50 yrs together would've felt just as brief. Jackson will always be with him & part of who he's become. Jackson's role was to prepare Aaron for the rest of his life. He owes it to Jackson to be happy. Adam, be your dad's son & tell your best friend these things.

Agreed. I like Aaron. But Ed should have moved on a while ago. This is now set up for Aaron to come to his senses with the help of the entire village, and call Ed and ask if the offer is still open...
I'm black and I am confused by what you mean by 'true racism.' Racism is racism no matter whether it is expressed in words or deed. No one should ever delude themselves into thinking that one is less important than the other because they spring from the same sources - intolerance and hate. The person who made the comment that these posts relate to needs to understand that their viewpoint was indeed racist, that it is unacceptable and that they need to work on changing it.
I don't even begin to understand this comment. I went to University in Yorkshire and met locals of all creeds and colours so the assumption that Ed must be from out of nowhere is nonsense. And in what sense would a white love interest be better? Would it make him a better person? Be a better match for Aaron, because heaven forbid he could have anything in common with a black guy. One good thing is that no one else posting here shares your views. That should tell you something very important.

episodes 136 and 147
As I was saying episode 136 Aaron is actually thinking about Adam when he is watching him and Scarlett kiss - not that he wants to be straight and be with a girl.
Episode 147 Aaron talks about Kyle and Adam and that he had feelings for Adam, but wasn't in love with Adam. (So he was actually sexually attracted to Adam.)
I'm just saying these things because I didn't get it at first and there are some comments on here about their relationship.
I wish Adam and Aaron had a scene where Aaron can admit to him that he loves him. Aaron liked Ed but I disagree that he loves him because he does not know him.Adam was the guy that Aaron loves too bad it is unrequited. I wish Adam was bisexual and then maybe he and Aaron could have a future together.
There is a scene where Aaron is outside Paddy's house watching Adam and Scarlett walk down the street kissing and I thought he was looking at them because he wished he wasn't gay and he could have that kind of relationship. However, later on Paddy asks Aaron if he liked anyone before and he talks about Kyle and he comments about his feelings for Adam. (I tried to find those clips, but it takes too long. If I find them I will come back and comment on here again.)

I read that interview where he said he's glad he won't have to kiss another bloke,but Danny also said he had no problem with it and talked about the first time he had to kiss on camera.The trolls who don't like Danny's acting or looks sure like to spend their watching him.
I belive Aaron and Adam are truly best friends but I also think Aaron is in love with Adam but he knows nothing romantic will ever happend. I also belive that Aaron likes Ed and is attracted to him but I don't think he is in love with him at least not yet. Honestly I think Aaron and Ed have the odds against them they might have some good times for a while but I don't see a Big future for them. Thanks for posting

You are so right about the trackies lol. ED missed some great chances to show some eye candy for us all by introducing a rugby player. Why no shirtless shots? Why no training/sweating shots or sliding through the mud shots?
They could have done so much with Ed. Coupled up with Aaron would have been a much more fitting exit-story for him.
I don't know if he is or isn't I don't know him personally. I just don't like that word being put out there lightly because it makes some people shut down, dont want to anything else. This also not to take a way from what anyone feels. This is a chance for us to enlighten this person.

I guess it's sort of great that Aaron realizes how he has been treating Ed lately; because if he keeps on making excuses for himself and pushing Ed (just like the times when he's first with Jackson) then he's pretty much going to have a quite miserable life which I don't know why the producers have to make him dealt with that!! But at the same time, no matter how much I like Ed I think he has made a smart decision: Just End it right there and let Aaron makes his moves instead of him!!

I find it odd that the Emmerdale producers picked a black guy to be Aaron's love interest when the dales is predominately white. A white love interest from the Dales would be a better choice than some random black guy from out of nowhere.
I find Danny lacking any chemistry with Ed or even Jackson in a "romantic loving" way. There is more with Adam and that is what is so confusing. Maybe it is played that way but scenes with Ed are flat and i see not even a "one night stand" attachment. Did they sleep together? maybe as brothers would - that is the way they are treating each other IMO. Danny needs a love life to bring this one to life.
Oh he's interested alright, but like someone mentioned, he's scared, and he still haven't forgiven himself...
I am convinced though that he does go to France and that he leaves happy and hopefull for the future.
And I really hope he comes back every now and again for an episode or two, Aaron Livesy is the reason I started watching this show and it will not be the same without him (not that that's gonna keep me from watching should someone very kind choose to start uploading the full show again..
