With the waste incineration, it shouldn't be that bad as they can filter out pollutants before they reach the atmosphere

I feel called out.
Irony is he's not doing a good job on this, although professionals don't do well at all, either. High volume cargo terminals shouldn't go right next to each other because it will just jam up the roads. Neither should pumps for water (although that's forgivable with the mechanics of the game).
I like the central park idea. Push all the roads you have now underground so your road network stays the same. Build a transit hub in the middle and then massive parks with trees and entertainment

@@koaganwaffles4644 Same, kind of. I would've said you could put it off centre closer to the IT cluster and have a small area for zoning underneath(Water treatment area as the bottom) and add the park around it.

For the large empty area, you can use the University DLC and make a sweet centralized university complex with parks, cool buildings, and glorious profits.

How about you combine both ideas, make a massive train/tranist hub with just a ton of trees around it! I think it would look really cool!
For that middle area, do both. Build all the transit stuff then add some parks in or around it.

I like the park idea, but what about combined university area/park? If you have the dlcs, you could make a really pretty forest campus.

I like the park idea. You have some trains, but not enough to rip up the city to put in additional lines in and out. A park could be really nice.
Like others are saying you should combine the two ideas. Make it a transit hub with a park and make that whole area walkable. Could also potentially have the trains come in from underground. I know a few major cities do that. Love the content!

Lovely addition to the city, great build. If you do the transit hub, maybe an IT cluster around it to help justify the need for the transit hub. At the same time a really big city park in that spot would do amazing for the land values around it. Hard call. Anyway great video as always.
After watching (I think) all of your Cities Skylines videos over the past few months, I think your next challenge should be to build a city organically/with advanced planning. What I mean is something more closely resembling real life. No rampant terraforming, no deleting entire neighborhoods/blocks to build something new or ripping up roads that already existed, no awkward one way road systems that play well in the game but would never exist in reality. It would be awesome to watch a city grow the way they do out here - with imperfections, uneven terrain, and obsolete buildings & systems being replaced gradually if at all. And also with a long term plan that doesn't involve temporary iterations that will never exist in the final city plan. That would be awesome to see! Just a suggestion. 😁

You can do both in the center area. A big monorail/train/metro hub and a huge green area/park
Definitely a massive, beautiful custom park in the middle, I think it would also be really entertaining to watch you work your magic with all thr decorations and little paths
What about park meets public transit? Basically a nice walk for all your people to switch modes of transportation. You have enough space to spread it all out, make nice walking paths to all the parks/ displays/ transit stations. It's perfectly in the middle of everything!
A central Park looks like a good idea, but I'd also love to see a King's Cross kind of station where you can go on different transports! Or maybe a central Park with a blimp station in the center!
It might also be cool not to have some industrial right by the bridge as it is the first thing cars entering the city will see. You could move it across the river or somewhere. Just a looks thing but it would turn out better 😊
Take inspiration from the transit hub in paris near the Eifel tower. Surround the hub with a parkish recreational area with tourist attractions

Honestly I think a Giant Park in the middle would look awesome and also be awesome to peoples because they have a way to relax and se nature in the middle of the city!
Do both? Hook up a decent network hub onto the monorail line next to today’s new housing strip, then merge the other road networks into that(reposition the roundabout to be in line with the intake of the new network hub), and place the park around the new network with bikes and paths leading to either the new hub or to a central park/entertainment area. Give them a scenic drive in and out of major networking, so to speak.
Having a transit hub, I think would make it look crowded, while a nice designed park in the middle of your city would look like a gem stone on a piece of jewelry. Imagine living in a big city and having access to a huge park with trees and trails to enjoy. That's a city I would live in. Not sure about what you can build, but if you can get a big water fountain or monument to have smack down the middle. Maybe some Terra-forming thrown in the mix, could spice it up.
I think with your expertise you would will make something great no matter what you decide to construct.

I personally think a giant Central Park would be amazing in the empty area in the center of the city! But you do what you think would be best.
For the central area, both ideas are great. A central park like NYC and central transit hub like Mumbai! All the infrastructure like train lines and roads can go underground and from above it will look like a huge park.
I paused my own CS game cause I saw the YT notification on my phone. Definitely one of my favorite CS youtubers to watch, binged all the old episodes a few days ago. I feel like a public transit hub would be really nice with a bunch of trees surrounding it.
Idea for that central zone: Build a park, but leave space in the middle for an important central building. Make only pedestrian paths there.

I kinda like the central park idea and you could combine it with the transithub maybe. A bit like when u see pictures of the Singapore Airport (although u wont build an airport there) Like a very green but working transit hub
I would vote for the central park. As your city is growing you will find a better spot for a traffic hub and make it even bigger (public transport & cargo, train, airport, ships etc.)
Fun fact, I live in a city with a waste-to-energy plan and in real life I think it's one of the best ways to deal with garbage! No landfills, and the EPA is so paranoid about them that they release SOOO much less pollution because they are regulated to hell and back compared to other power plants!
I understand games are different and that it might be programmed not that way but everyone here loves it

You can disconnect portions of a district while retaining it all being one district, and in regards to the cargo buildings for walkable areas, you can just leave them in a separate area and effectively teleport items.

If you're using mods, Kibz, you should find a new sand texture in theme mixer to replace those butter beaches. That gaudy yellow is an affront to your beautiful city!

For the central part of the city: There's a central-park building in the special buildings... you could use that one and maybe a central trainstation and build a central transport-hub around it :)
That center empty space should be a gem, or jewel of the city, like a large university campus, all of the space should be made to help the populations intelligence, that way you can have a better city filled with the smartest people, and make more money, maybe even the smartest people helped maintain and reworked all of the road network.
Forest the area and build an old military fort of some kind. That region having big river outlets would mean strategically it would be used for that sort of thing. So try and build something unexpected!
I would say, definitely make it a Central Park, and leave space for a monument like the Eden project or something!

I know a central park will look really good but in the future traffic will be a nightmare and a transit hub will absolutely look so dam awesome as a center point of the city I am pretty sure you will greenify it and make it look beautiful.

Your definitely gonna need that second university, gotta let the population grow up. I suggest a large university campus for the Central Park.
Add the central park right in the middle. Make it a zoned park that collects money from people entering. Add the transport hubs around the park. People will have to walk from one hub to the next, going through the park, making you infinite money.

Maybe a hybrid park/cultural center. You could put in things like museums and whatnot but have it surrounded by a bunch of parks and green space.
I actually don't see why not have both. :) Push the train station/metro/complex to one edge of the space, then use the rest as a park - it should still be pretty big.
I'd say make a huge park/forest in that space, roads could be removed or modified. And since you have the tram loop there, take advantage of it and place some nature reserve/zoo assets there to give the tram loop a purpose (and make money(?))
make it a transit hud with a forest around it, bonus point for lowering the ground a bit to make it fell outside of the city
I personally think that the power-output on the waste-processing-plant is resulting in the fact that decomposing garbage gives off heat.
After 11 Hours of School and then coming home to watch this masterpiece of a video is just the best life I can imagine right now
you don't have to have a direct connection of the zones to work, you can disconnect them to save money

Combining A massive central park with a transit hub would be functional, and could look amazing. The Central Transit Park.
How about doing both? You could make a transit hub in the middle of a park. There won't be much traffic there since it's easier for people to take transit if there are no busy destinations in the immediate surroundings. This means your trams and buses will have an easy time getting around. You could probably use low capacity roads with bike lanes as well. And if you place down some actual park buildings or make a nature reserve or something, you'll actually have people taking transit to get there and walking around in a really nice environment. Perhaps it's worth it to sprinkle in a few shops as well, but not too many.
You could do a Central park kinda thing with a decent transporthub in the middle with no cars except busses/trams allowed near it so people have to use public transport :)
22:30 Take inspiration from SimCity 2013 here~ make it a "great works" site of sorts. Space Port maybe? International airport? My vote's a space port or central park type area. :)
Regarding building an airport there, might be beneficial to ban high rises in neighboring districts and limit yourself to lateral runways.
I like the idea of a central park, but you should also incorporate a transit hub where there is an international train station. Think St Pancreas in London, except that Hyde Park is RIGHT next to it.

The center area should be a massive university. Multiple school houses, dormitories. Make it like a college town like Columbus Ohio or Austin Texas

Rearrange your current transit hub a little closer and bigger. Then build your new huge park next to it so the hub is on one side.
Please do a giant park in the middle of the city. That area is too nice to spoilt by a train station. Probably when the city expands, you can figure out a space for the transit system

Putting a big park in the middle would look awesome, if you did it could you have below ground transit hubs or is just subways? 🤔 There are plenty of cities in Germany where roads go under rather than over, you could have trams go through the park though, and stop at fountain spots or plaza's.
Make it look green and surround the park with the green tall buildings. Go full 12 Monkeys 😁

5:50 I believe the transfer facilities trucks only go into the city to collect and back to the building. The processing center has semis that go to the transfer facilities and back.

For the garbage Problem with the Pedestrian Zone only the Garbage Service Pooint handles all Garbage needs of the buildings within the zone.
You need bigger or more Garbage Service Points for it to be able to handle everything.
As much as I love the idea of a “Central Park,” I think another transport hub might be more efficient and it works so well in the center of all the districts.
i personally would love to see you build a giant park, plus you have room between the utility area and rest of the city for that mega transit hub
This city really needs a nice, big military base, to keep an iron grip on those pesky wage sla- I mean to protect all those valued, hard-working citizens from no-good criminals, yes. I'd advise all three of Army, Navy, and Air Force just to cover all your bases, of course. 😁Also, a central park is a very good idea, and so is having an iconic central train station. Maybe try combining both? A central train station with a park surrounding it? =^x^=

it would look SO nice to have a huge green space you always travel in and out of when switching at the hub. also it could be multi-layered (like an onion), so that only major stuff meets at the middle and minor connections can be made at the edge of the park. I would love that!

I reckon biiig tourism area in the middle, perhaps a zoo, big park, maybe a big monument or 2. Or make it similar to a CBD with just a whole bunch of big buildings will an underground train network maybe
I will recommend to make a central park there with a nice lake and making the transport hub in your main downtown which you are going to build near the cost that way you can also have cruise ships and ferries in your mega transportation hub
