- This Schwarzkopf Wildcat coaster might look very familiar to many viewers, as it operated over 30 years at Lightwater Valley in England as an enclosed coaster. It was was renamed to Raptor Attack a dozen years before moving to Circuit Of The Americas in 2021, but do you know what it was called when it originally opened in 1987?
Cotaland is located near Austin, Texas on the grounds of the Circuit Of The Americas, the race track that servers as the home of Formula 1 and MotoGP in the USA.

The lift chain is an actual chain 😂😂
The budget for this coaster was $100 lol
Yeah, all Schwarzkopf wildcats have that, the model was made in the 1950's so yeah
@@GoudLoodje The first Wildcat was built in 1964, so this one surely isn''t from the 1950's
@@svenlakemeier oh lol my memory is so good
Schwarzkopf made some weird coasters back in the day. A launch after the station, and a chain lift made from actual chain? So weird 😂😂
I rode this a few times at LWV. The dark room and themed queue line made it a lot of fun, and I'll always miss it. It was originally called The Rat when it first opened.
After seeing that chain lift I wasn't expecting to see magnetic brakes 😂😂
This reminds me of many dreams I have had in my life with desolate theme parks, disappointing coasters that end suddenly, or just being in a park and running out of time.
1:42 Bro is posing like a straight up supermodel lol.
LMAOOO
Wow, I didn’t know COTA had a Schwarzkopf Wildcat! Only 2 hours away! 5k looks almost animated. After the two big coasters next year COTA needs a wood coaster.
I went to COTA this past September to see my cousin race so I didnt get to ride this roller coaster
Great 5K POV
It has quite the view!
That's a fast lift chain!
Wow, the beginning of the ride is surprisingly fast!
Used to be at UK park Lighwater Valley as The Rat then re-themed to Raptor Attack.
This is awesome. Even though it’s an old coaster having these rides will add more to experience during race weekends at COTA. Especially, for F1 weekend! I hope to one day visit COTA to watch an F1 race and get some coaster credits!
Now they’re adding circuit breaker and Palindrome
There's always something cool abt the small coasters even though coaster fans thrive on the BIG ones! Me personally I'll ride them all bcuz each one has to be experienced atleast once! That theory to me proves you're a TRUE coaster fan!
This reminds me of the tiny amusement park we used to go to. The coaster was called Cyclone and very similar!
Hu does this feel like a dream
If it werent for the 2 people standing on the platform at the end, Id totally believe this to be from the No Limits coaster game :P The sky is perfect, the track is perfect. Its just the way it was filmed and the high quality of the video :P Thumbs up if you agree this looks like (but isnt) a No Limits video!
I was the first rider on Christmas Eve, will be pretty cool if cotaland becomes legit
It's so weird seeing this out in the open, I used to ride this annually as a kid back in England at Lightwater Valley when it was the Rat Ride. Being in complete darkness made it a bit more unpredictable.
COTAland getting major upgrades... with the Tilt Coaster and the Gerstlauer in 23.... I can see why
Is the new coaster still happening and opening this year?
Thats a fast lift hill
The coaster got announced and nobody bean talking about. Like come on guys do a construction update.😊
wild mouse coasters hurt
This isn’t a wild mouse, it’s a Schwarzkopf Wildcat, and the pain of wild mice is what makes them enjoyable.
i havent seen anything about palindrome's construction or circuit breaker? vekoma is showing off circuit breaker at IAAPA so i know its still happening but wheres the construction?
Parts for palindrome are still in the parking lot and didn't see anything for circuit breaker last week when I went.
It's open?!
Yes.
Was certainly better as an indoor dark coaster
Why is the park so empty. That rollercoaster is in the middle no where lol 💀
It's a brand new park. There's going to be more coasters added.
Also they tend to film these before the park opens that way they do not Interfere with other guests by sitting up there cameras and such on the ride.
@@Toonamp Smart 🧠
I bet the chain on the chainlift is plastic lol
No. It’s just a chain. A LITERAl CHAIN.
not like the ride op or riders needs shade or anything while waiting.
Yes it looks very temporary. I hope they dress up the rider area with a shade structure and attractive signage. Austin is smoking hot in the sun most summers.
This coaster should be renamed "Texas Insomnia Cure".
Enough with these stabilized povs. Show me the lumps and bumps.
Well, the funny part is that it is actually glossy smooth especially for its age
Hmmm...a bit underwhelming.
Weak coaster
It’s from the late 60s what do you expect, it’s not gonna be like steel vengance lmao
What a lovely and clean little coaster, some great drops and I love the fast lift hill. Has this ride ever travelled?
No, was at Lightwater Valley in the UK from 1987 to 2021
