My fingers hurt just watching this. Masochists, the next line of strings from Stringjoy XD ooh, ooh, call them Bloodletters, sell them to the metal crowd.
Does stringjoy not use hex cores by default? I can't say I've ever looked at my strings that closely but I thought that was industry standard since like the 70's
Hex core offers better tuning stability, not worse. Almost all electric guitar strings are hex core these days with a few exceptions (our Broadways, DR Pure Blues, etc).

Yes, the hex's are uncomfortable. Played 2 different sets, went to pure nickel, just didn't have the bite I like, so took a stab at some 10-54 Ernie Balls, and my fingers felt like they were on vacation. Hoping String Joy will find a solution in place of the hex's, as they are a better string.
Hey Joe, you might have missed the point of the video. Hex core strings only have hexagonal core wire on the wound strings, the plain strings are always round. We did this video to show what hex core strings would be like if you did have hexagonal plains, which no guitar string set has.
@@Stringjoy I know, it was the wound strings that I could feel a little twinge beneath the outer surface, and the non-hex strings just felt a little smoother. I could tell the difference between round over round, and round over hex. The video kind of confirmed what I thought I was just imagining.
The "Feel Our Pain" button on the email made me laugh 😂 Good advertising
those false article writers should get sued

Coming 2023 'The Barbed Blues Balanced Tension Set'
gives me the chills just thinking about that setup
at a long gig
" is there any reason to do this,,, No" 🤣🤣
Thank you for the strings you DO make... long time customer and fan.....
My calluses were not ready for this...
I am so excited about this!
The most metal option. I like it.
How about strings that have an elliptical profile? Both as cores for wounds and as plains.
Maybe could help transfer more energy from a slide?
You said "slide" and it makes me wonder how hex plain strings might sound under a physical slide on your finger. You know what I mean?
@@alococuccoyo6103 Pretty sure you're talking about the same thing
If your fretboard isn't completely saturated in blood when you finish your solo...are you really even playing guitar??
Sounds like part playing / part summoning a Dark Lord 😈
Feeling like you posted this 2 days early ;)
If your playing dinosaur jr's Feel the Pain, you would play it better with these
Good point!
Bought those back and were ernie ball I think. Hardly use a pick and still have but never noticed any pain.

All of our plain strings are round core. We use hex core for our wound Signatures, and round core for our pure nickel wrapped Broadways.
Careful! You may have just discovered a new set of strings for "death Grunge" or something! LOL
I don’t understand how hex core= out of tune? Ernie Ball strings are hex core and those are the most popular strings

Well, that was different. ;-) I actually know people who would want to try it. Yee-ouch!
OK! Now do it on an acoustic. Mediums.
