I like the way you start your lanyards by wrapping them around your finger. I teach Leatherwork merit badge at the H. Roe Bartle Boy Scout camp, and teaching lanyards is SO DIFFICULT!

i kind of understand how to do it... but i tired like a million times, and i couldn't get the stupid string to stay on my finger. so i tried i once on my big toe (hoping to be able to use both my hands) and i did it. so i took it off, and i tried to pull the strings to tighten it, and i pulled it the wrong way, so it got all messed up. i wasa finally just like "screw it! i'll try again some other time." but the video deffinately did help. thanx!

Questions: 1) If using wire, still on a spool, what length should each piece be cut to for 6", 7", or 8" of total weave? 2) For those of us brave enough to use precious metal wire, what is the mathematical calculation/formula for figuring out the needed wire lengths? Thanks!
