Hey Brad, great overview on what to look for to get a non-offroaded Jeep👍 Can confirm that the lights and steps are at least $4200 after the (probably) dealer installed bumper/winch. Also was curious to know if Benjamin was able to get those steps working again.. They are fantastic when they're functional, but can be finicky at times. With the way they were partially deployed, I would say he should probably pull the fuse to reset them.. They also may just not have power to them. I've had those things since day one, and have lots of experience with their issues if he needs any assistance troubleshooting 😂. Again great vid and we'll be seeing you hopefully later next year!
So Brad…how many miles (or Klics) does she have on her? What price? Around $40? US or Canadian? Great overview of what to look for, and how to assess what you find. Also look for pinstripes. Lacking them is another mall crawler tipoff. Btw, I’d rather see an un-detailed engine bay, to better see if it has any leaks. Good video. Thanks👍🏼
Another thing that just looked like a dead giveaway to me that it hadn't been offroaded was the nitrogen green tire cap. Nobody who off roads runs nitrogen in their tires cuz if they air down they can't air back up on the trail with nitrogen. Not a guarantee that they didn't off road but it would lead me for sure that direction. I had my gf when she was looking at the dealership for the one we bought climb under and take pictures of the scrape free skid plates .that was all I needed to see lol
That’s basically my jeep. I have a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon. Only thing I’ve done so far is a bed cover, steel OEM front bumper, and a warn winch. I love it so far.
Bought a 2017 grand cherokee with less then 100k kms and its been in the shop 4 times in less then 100 days 8 days in didn't start needed 2 batteries Then the tension pulled died and it also took out the alternator It also hard down shifts so trany is probably on the way out Then i got a flat only the second flat in my life i know that one was just unlucky but man is this thing is unreliable
Good summary of what to look for. I bought my '22 JL Rubicon sight-unseen from a dealer in North Dakota, but it was evaluated by an independent shop for pretty much everything you mentioned. One more thing I would say is mandatory is to inspect the hinges and bottoms of doors to see what (if any) corrosion is present, and be prepared to get it all fixed with about 6-8 months left in the seven year corrosion warranty. I'd add in an aftermarket switch panel rather than drilling holes in the dash, and of course a Tazer :)
I would check above the driveshafts to look for grease that may have flung off after lubrication - a sign of proper maintenance beyond minimal oil changes.

I’ll let him know. I don’t think he got into it too much at this point.

Hey there, get some collabs?

And the cherry on top Chrysler took 9 days to replace the alternator
That sure is a rough start!
