    Minor yet significant point: By unbarre-ing that A, it makes it an A add9 because you have that open B. Great tutorial/Peter Buck 101 class.

    Finally, great tutorials of early REM. Thank you. Please keep them coming off Murmur, Reckoning, and Fables.

    "Sitting Still" used to be my warm-up song whenever I picked up the guitar. Was always the first thing I'd play. Should start doing it again.

    You're also missing the 2nd Katie barre chord. :p 7999 or 79x9, depending on whichever you feel is appropriate. Just hit it 2 or 3 times, then back to the first chord before going down. Also, I don't think you said "jangley" often enough. ;) You can see my full tab here (I did the bass part too): www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/r-e-m-sitting-still-tab-s408767t0

  • @Billkwando

    In the verses he's just playing the low E note, palm muted, which you can see clearly here, as none of his left hand fingers are even touching the strings: ua-cam.com/video/kRTH8eqZbPM/v-deo.html
    You can hear it on the record as well, as it makes that distinctive "flub flub" sound that only a single string makes. I didn't want to believe it, but the more I listened, the more I heard it that way, so I decided to scour all the old videos for proof, and hit gold. LOL

    I suggest playing the part(s) through once first before beginning the lesson??

      @r.e.m.guitarlessonscovers9654  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the suggestion. I actually made a separate video as a cover of the song. In later videos I did combine the cover and video into one video :)
      Thanks for checking these out!!!

    LOL the lesson hasn't even started yet and I'm already wondering how you're going to do the palm mutes with the silly bridge cover on. I actually do know how to play it already, but it's fun to see what other folks are doing.

    In the Part of B chord - A chord, i always listen in the record song a little progression like some kind of 7th or 9th chord type of variation or maybe its just me and my fucked ears. Great channel man!. kudos for you! Do wolves, lower

      +Ayaxsoul 64 Hi there...I think in the intro chord progression PB may not go down to a B chord. I just did a cover and lesson for Wolves, Lower...check it out here:

      There most definitely is, during the B chord Peter moves his pinky onto the 9th fret of the G string and moves it right back before moving to the A. It's a familiar move he does in other songs like Can't Get There From Here and Finest Worksong. There is also a third chord he forgot to mention during this phrase, as the phrase ends with the open F#.
      Also the B in the intro happens once more during the final verse of the song.
