📖 The ancient tale
“When Queen Vida knew Attila and his Huns were arriving, she lead their people to take shelter into the cave of San Giovanni D’Antro. Attila couldn’t reach the entrance so he decided to station the troops under the cave to obtain their surrender by starvation.
After several months, when just one sack of wheat was left, Queen Vida decided to use it to deceive the enemy: she threw the content of the sack from the cliff in front of Attila’s eyes, shouting that she still had as many sacks left as the grains that were falling down.
Attila believed it and put an end to the siege. Vida’s brilliance saved her people’s lives.”
