This album still stands up on all legs. The production quality for a track like Barrel still sounds amazing.
A throwback 20 years in the making! It's the making of Lost and Gone Forever dredged up from the Guster archives. Special thanks to Sam Erickson.
And did you know Brian created a week's long nostalgia trip of the making of the album over on instagram? Definitely check it out and party like it's 1999 again: instagram.com/guster/
You invented a time machine!
Guster - Best band on the planet. True story ❤️!!!
This gives me chills. I heard you interviewed on NHPR/NPR back in the day so I went out and bought your music. This was the album that introduced me to you. I have appreciated all that you have done ever since, going back to Goldfly, and then following all of your releases since Lost and Gone Forever. My son could sing most of your songs by the time he was 5, that was all I played in my truck. He is in college now. Thank you for so many years of great music.
You are my favorite band, stay awesome!
I can’t tell you how many times songs on this album have got me though the tough times in life. Thank you for such a fantastic album. I love seeing him much you have changed and adapted your sound with each album. Keep up the amazing work.
I can't believe that was a typewriter! Thought it was my imagination.
Every song on this album is just amazing. Anytime I recommend Guster to someone I recommend to start with this album and work your way from there.
My favorite album of all time. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome album... I didn't "discover" Guster till 2004 and it was love at first listen. They are so unique sounding and I wish they would kind of go back to their roots on the next LP. Love that more acoustic feel they had.
This is the first Guster album I bought. I was introduced to the band when I heard them on The River 92.5 acoustic set. Love this record.
Holy crap. The typewriter.
Thank you for sharing. This is my favorite album for all time.
Everyone is so young! This will remain one of my favorite albums of all time. Can’t wait to see you guys at the next show!
This band keeps me playing music...definitely an inspiration...thank you Guster!!!
The 25 year celebration coming up this month in Portland. My first time seeing them was when they opened for Barenaked Ladies, and we raised our kids on Guster. They mean so much to so many people, and they really are family.
Love this so much ❤️
This is nice!😎

That’s a typewriter on Barrel???

Most (95%+) of the musical "art" on the programming of radio shows are about 05% of our lives (the young love-bonkers phase-ography) you beautiful fools are the exception to that "rule" and make up the zeitgeist of the Foreigners, Friends, and Folk who will make this planet a place for us to sing in perfect harmony.
Please, dudes, Duck-Duck-Go look me up and contact me.

This album was so great. Guster's old stuff was just SOOO much better than the new stuff. I went to see them in concert about a year ago, and ended up leaving 40 minutes in out of disgust and disappointment. They didn't even sound like they were a Guster cover band (and yes, I'd heard the new tracks before going). I saw them perform close to 20 years ago, and they were amazing, so compared to the recent show, they've just severely deteriorated.
That said, the first three albums were absolutely amazing; the following few were still pretty good. But it'll be a while before I actually purchase any more new music from them. :-/
“Abnormality of the Guster process” - f’ing brilliant! Best band on the planet!
