Games were more simple as a kid. You spend a year playing a game you love without even knowing a sequel was coming out. Then you walk into Gamestop and see a brand new Budokai Tenkaichi
And soon enough you will see budokai tenkaichi 4
@TheEgoPanda is that the working title? It's just as likely they will drop the number to not confuse new players not familiar with the old games as they are almost 20 years old at this point.

playing on the highest pcsx2 settings for this art style straight up makes it look like a modern game, it's so simple yet so artistic that it literally can't age poorly.
Yoo I’ve been playing on pcsx2 for a while the graphics are decent but how do you upscale them?
Fr. Usually upscaling older games highlights flaws with textures or sketchy models. There's virtually none of that here. It may not be Raging Blast 2, but damn is this game clean. Being limited to 720p max was def limiting for the game (I know the consoles have ways to upscale now but 9 out of 10 of them are straight ass unless you drop like, $100+ lol)
word bro i finished bt3 on my jailbroken ps3 but I needed to play bt4. luckily i found out how to use the pcsx2 emulater, bt4 fun asf man.

Story mode is a huge step back from bt2, but the large amount of character allows you to create any kind of "what if scenario" in cpu battle.
Also, Red potara charaters are perfect to replicate a realistic Db experience: trying to face Op villains with normal z fighters or even doing the opposite, for example facing red potara Goku with standard Frieza makes you really feel the struggle and the desperation of the villain beeing overpowered.
Love the Tenkaichi series
I think the best aspect in the BT3 story mode are the alternative endings and playing as the Villains sometimes, but still I would like to see something more complete like BT2.
Despite all the DBZ games that have come out over the years, BT1 has the most badass and authentic Intro of all of DBZ games of the Franchise. BT2 and BT3 in my opinion still remains the most Unique and the best DBZ games in terms of content, quality and fanservices. And from the gameplay perspective aspects, these DBZ games that I mentioned are very close to the anime itself because of the Vibe and Charm, I don't know how to describe it but it was, and still is the most Unique DBZ experience you could have with the combat factor. (- Sheer amount de of characters
- Transformations mid-battle (powering up and down)
- Fusions mid-battle
- Fast gameplay that has that "woah" feel
- Tons of extra content
- Story mode covering all sagas + movies
- What If sagas
- Shenron having permanent impact on game (character unlocks and whatnot)
- Great tournaments that rotate availability
- Edit characters with items (buffs)
- 5v5 battles
- Really Great and Epic Soundtracks
- Destroyable environments
- Entire stages could be blown up into their "destroyed" alternatives
- Mission 100 being a great challenge
- Artwork is 10/10
- Sound effects are great
- Combat feels heavy and satisfying) Only Budokai 3, Infinite World, Raging Blast 1 and 2 and PSP DBZ games are still considered also very solid DBZ games, also the hidden gem that a lot of DBZ fans missed from PS2 Era of DBZ games is "Super Dragon Ball Z" which is also a real Unique and DBZ game, especially for the different gameplay aspects perspective. ✌☯️
And soon to come is bt4
Hopefully, BT4 will be having a huge roster than BT3 (however, BT3 is still my favorite Dragon Ball Z game). But I think BT4 will be better.
My favorite part about this game was the ability to customize each character to change their stats, abilities or even their aura color. Really gave you the freedom to create your own storylines. I personally gave Zangya a gold aura so she looked like the first ssj3 woman

bt2 story mode was awesome especially the rpg mechanics to build your own build via improving items and combining them. Edit: also no restrictions on unlocked transformations was hella funny
All this game needed was the cut scenes like budakai so you can feel it more

I been playing this on my Anbernic RG505, been playing the Wii version, DBZ Budokai 1, 3 and Tenkaichi 3 and XenoVerse 2 are my favorites

i remember not buying em for story. mostly for the big ass roster of usable characters.
look at games now. 10 chars. and 10 more for 6-10 bucks each.
so the game costs 60 and then u pay 60-100 bucks more to get the rest of the characters.

I still have my Wii copy of Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and, my Wii still works to this day. :)

bt3 story mode was just a stand in power point presentation, the real grab was the gameplay.

This game had a smooth gameplay mechanic which makes it so enjoyable to play but the story is so compressed that it just feel like a speedrun of the entire DBZ only 😅
best Dragon Ball game so far.
The Wii version was definitely the best. I will vouch for this being the best Wii game ever made.

None will, I repeat none, never ever ever has beaten BT3 as a DB game. Not the useless fighterz or whatever the fuck mortal kombat that game is, not Xenoverse either.
The only one that comes really close to the anime is Kakarot but even that can not even out with BT3 as a whole.
If BT4 will do something more than that, I will seriously start thinking that the gaming industry is going to a better place than where we are today.

TENKAICHI 3 BETTER? lol no. The 3rd installment removed left and right blocking. 2 is far better not only from story mode but also just combat.

For example
The reason BT3 had 3 Goku's is because once you pick a Goku you're stuck with the moves he has.
RB fixed this problem by having Goku's moves customizable, now you can just equip which moves Goku will have based on the build you want.
Another example BT3 had standard combos most of which were all the same for each character. RB on the other hand not only had different combos based on the characters but each character had a mid combo signature move when pressing B (Xbox 360) or O(PS3). This helped with mix ups and allowed for more experimentation.
Another Example!!!
BT3 only has like 3 options for defending against a Blast teleport, block, and Beam Struggle. RB however let's you deflect the blast if timed correctly.
