Thanks for a great episode ladies. Congratulations Kelly on your grandchild coming soon. Noelle, your colour work is amazing!
Thank you on both accounts Debbie....we’re so happy you enjoyed it!
Your podcasts are such a ray of sunshine in my life🧶😎
TYFS🌸🐑
Thank you so much Jeanne, your comments make our day 💕
Congratulations Kelly on your first grandbaby! It is the most wonderful experience EVER!! As I explained to my kids, grand-parents don't love the grandkids MORE, we just love them DIFFERENTLY. Plus, we just get to do all the fun stuff. ;-)
Noelle, I admire your knitting skills. Really! You make complicated calculations (to me anyway) look so easy while knitting Fairisle. Kudos!
I always look forward to your podcasts. :-)
Thank you so much Colette! My family is so excited to meet our newest little member! Noelle is indeed very comfortable with pattern modification and she applies that skill to almost every pattern she knits. We often have lengthy conversations about pattern gauge and changing to match a yarn choice.😊
@@KnitsnPieces I try not to change yarns for a pattern - stresses me out. LOL!
Hi Kelly and Noelle, we found your podcast since a few of our viewers told us that you made a primrose sweater too Noelle. Your tips are very helpful, we started with sleeves too and are concerned about the length of the yoke! We talk about it at length in episode 15. Fantastic yarn! And by coincidence I just cast on the deschain. Really enjoyed your podcast and your knit night! What a beautiful community! Thank-you💕
Hi Petra and Natasha, I loved knitting the Primrose, and you’re right the yarn is amazing!!!. I did knit about 1 to 1 1/2 inches before joining everything and am very pleased with the result. Really enjoy watching your podcast and seeing all of your projects, can’t wait to see you’re Deschain! Kelly’s is beautiful, I think I have to cast one on!!!
Kelly you could always knit baby sweaters for both a girl and a boy. You could use the one you don't need as a gift.
That’s a great idea Peggy!
Thanks ladies this was very good as always!
Thanks Louanna 💕
Kelly your face lit up with absolute JOY announcing your new grand baby is on the way, congratulations 🎉 to all. There’s so many more joyous moments to come, grandchildren are such fun 🦋🦋🦋
Carolyn, it has been such a hard secret to keep and I am so excited to finally be able to share! We couldn’t be happier and cannot wait to meet our first grandbaby!💜
I am knitting the Nightshift shawl. I started it Fri. 5/28/21. I bought a kit but I don’t necessarily like the colors. I decided to use yarn I just purchased and already had. I do love the Dream State Spincycle yarns, but 6 skeins are a bit pricey.
Kelly,
Congratulations on your new sweet addition.
Very pretty colorwork Noelle!
Thanks Danielle! Hope you love the Nightshift shawl. This shawl will knit up beautifully in lot of different yarns, it’s so nice to see all the different combinations that people put together, can’t wait to see yours!!!!
Hi dear friends we re out of lockdown in edinburgh congrats kelly
Thanks Glenda, so happy to hear that you’re out of lockdown we are counting the days!!!
Noelle - Your sweater is gorgeous! That is a true work of art!
Also, It blows my mind to hear the level of lockdowns you’ve had up there. I hope you all liberated soon and can enjoy life (and get a haircut! 😂).
Thanks Emily. We are so looking forward to coming out of this lockdown, going shopping in person to a yarn shop is actually ahead of a haircut 😂
Kelly I checked the show notes for the name of the pattern for the baby socks and there’s nothing written down. They look so beautiful and I’d like to knit some for my new grandson. The both of you are such amazing knitters. I’d love to be able to knit as well as the both of you. I don’t miss any of your podcasts and knit chats. Love them
Thank you Lillian, we’re so happy to have you here! I didn’t actually use a pattern for those socks but one that I have used , and love is Tabitha Gandee’s Perfect Newborn Socks. I’ve made them for friends and the fit is perfect! I will definitely be making some for my own grandbaby!💜
@@KnitsnPieces thanks Kelly for your reply. I checked on Ravelry but there’s so many patterns that come up. I’ve crocheted some for some of my other grandkids and they were always falling off
Hi Lillian, so glad to have had the chance to get to know you. It’s amazing that knitting can bring together friends from across the world 💕 That’s wonderful that you are making socks for your new grandson. A baby sock pattern that I have used in the past is the Kate Atherley Baby Sock pattern it has a few different sizes starting with 0-3 months. I have made it several times, the 2x2 fold over cuff helps the sock to stay put. Here is the link in ravelry www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-socks-23
@@KnitsnPieces thanks for the replies ladies. I will definitely try both of those socks suggestions. I have yet to actually finish a pair of socks considering I have over ten started. I got one sock done and got my husband to try it on and I could tell by the look in his face they were not comfortable. I had buggered up on the Kitchener stitch. Then I finished one sock for myself of the work socks from little red mitten. I thought I made all the mistakes in the first sock and whatever it was for me. Then I was just about at the toe of the second sock when I noticed I didn’t use the different Color on the heel. Then tried ripping it back. We’ll I suck at trying to do that. I got so mad I threw it in the garbage. Another time I figured I’d knit on my shawl not even two hours after getting out of surgery from my lung biopsy. We’ll that was a stupid move cause one day later I noticed my shawl was going in two separate directions at one point. I can’t seem to get any FO’s cause it’s hard to concentrate on pain killers. I need FO’s to explain my ever growing stash of yarn
I enjoyed spending my Friday off from work knitting and watching your podcast. 😊 Congrats again on the grandbaby, Kelly! The socks are adorable. And Noelle, your finished Primrose is just beautiful. An all over colorwork sweater is on my knitting bucket list so your project is an inspiration.
Thanks Susan!! Would love to see lots of knitters creating colour work projects. (Maybe we’ll think about doing a stranded colour work KAL in the future 🤔)I really enjoy knitting stranded colour work, it’s amazing seeing the pattern develop. Mary Wallin has beautiful designs, and there are lots of talented designers that feature colour work projects, and they all look so different depending on the yarn and the colours chosen.
Just another great time spent with you two! Love the fo’s, love the wip’s, love the acquisition’s and the weaving! Wow entertainment central! Congratulations Kelly, look forward to seeing more creative knitting and crochet for the baby. Thanks so much xx
Thanks so much Dawn, we’re so glad you enjoyed the episode, I can’t wait to see what Kelly creates for the baby too!! I need to get moving on my WIPS, but there are so many gorgeous patterns and yarns that keep calling to me!!!
I am so glad UA-cam pointed me in your direction - I really enjoyed your podcast. Congrats, Kelly, on the upcoming addition to your family. I can't wait to see all those baby knits. And Noelle, your primrose sweater is amazing!! I will try my best to make it to knit chat one of these weeks. 7:00 can sometimes be bonkers at my house, but hopefully I'll be able to pop in at some point.
Hi Karen, So glad you found us!! Would love for you to join us for a Knitchat, but from your podcast I know that you have young children and I realize that that time of night is extremely busy, my granddaughters keep both my daughter and daughter-in-law extremely busy at that time of night! I can’t wit to see you finished colourwork sweater!!
thank you both so much for all you do to brighten my days
Valorie, it is our absolute pleasure! And we are so happy that you have found our podcast and value your friendship as well.💜
Although I’ve only made it to a live once, I really enjoy your knit chat. It really does feel like knitting with friends.
Thank you Nancy, that’s exactly what we wanted to do, meet up with friends and discuss our knitting or any other topic that came up in the conversation.
Such great content! Thank you ladies. I broke the podcast in to 3 segments so I could stretch my legs in between. I love the wool warehouse in the U.K. Great prices and fast shipping. Have a great weekend. 💕
Thanks Gail, I know we were a little bit long winded this episode, but glad you enjoyed it.
Noelle, the Penrose is lovely. It looks like it was made for you! wink, wink
I've been missing the knit chats, but it's just the timing. I think of you every Tuesday!
Thanks Alexa, we wish that the timing of knitchat worked for everyone, we love chatting with all of our new friends 💕 I really enjoyed knitting the Primrose and one of the perks of knitting your own sweater is that you can customize if for a better fit.
Congrats Kelly!!!
Thank you Susan!😊
I enjoyed this episode. Congrats Kelly with the coming grandchild 🤱🏻
Thanks Marion 💕
Love the shawl wall. I am working on a scarf wall, Love your knit chats and podcast.
Thanks Karen, can’t wait to see your scarf wall 💕
Thank you for tagging your names in your podcast. I recently started watching.
Welcome to our channel, thanks for joining us!
Noelle, can you please talk about the knit companion and what application and which device are you using it ? It appears to me that you are happy with it...
Hi Bea, I do love KnitCompanion. I have the full paid for program and I use it on my ipad. I also have it on my iphone, but did the ipad is easier to work on and easier to see. Very Pink Knits UA-cam channel has some amazing tutorials on using KnitCompanion, I have learned a lot from them.
I heard citric acid stops the yarn color from running.
Thanks Karen, hadn’t thought of that, I have put vinegar in the wash water before but haven’t tried citric acid ,I’ll have to give it a try.
how do u take black and white pics? jus take pics and print it as black ink only? dont hav camera only on phone
Hi Cindy, I take a regular picture on my phone and then go into edit mode and there should be a tool to change the pic to Black and white (noir) the icon to bring this up on my phone is 3 interconnected circles in shades of grey.
@@KnitsnPieces ty u for this info ..I often learn new things on your podcast and enjoy them gr8tly
