When I started playing the game, I was scared of the Defender because of its strong armor. Now when I see the Defender, I'm relieved that it's not a broken premium tank..... This game won't last long....

@@CB-nl5jc i dont see any td is OP except the 268/4, Turtle MK1, T110E3 and this but the turtle almost never gets played and is way too slow, e3 is also slow and 268/4 is russian and the 279e is still a thing... havent you noticed how relevant mediums are these times. for example the 430U, 140, TVP, CS, Leopard, STB, 907, K-91 and UDES are insane in their own ways
@@flopjul3022 wtf you mean. Amongst those MT you mentioned only STB, Leo and UDES are kinda OP. Also there are much more TDs that are actually strong. T28 Prot, TS-5, Jagdtiger, Su-130, Skorpion, Tortoise

Except the vipera has weakspots. 122mm guns can overmatch turret roof, it has 20mm side plates underneath the tracks that can be overmatched as it comes over a ridge, and weak shoulder plates when it’s angled that tier 8’s can pen with standard rounds
And the lower lower plate is 20mm too and overmatchable

@@CrazyPanda688 good luck pen it when its hulldown in front of you around 2-300m. No way to hit the turret roof in that distance. Its too small. This tank is a cancer.

@@CrazyPanda688 good luck hitting those consistenty.. all tanks have weakspots my dude. Its the frequency of being able to hit them and the fact that this tank can 1v1 anything on tier 8 without any problems. I've been playing the tank all day. Its omega busted!
The end started when the defender was added
Here are my two cents. I think, even though WG made a lot of bad decisions over the years from community and gameplay perspective... I think the biggest problem is ourselves. Those OP broken premium tanks just sell like crazy. We vote with our wallets and whenever they introduce a balanced tank like premium Yoh for example... people complain, calling it "trash" or whatever. But whenever they see this sweet sweet Skoda tier 8 premium that is even better than tech tree tier 9... they're ready to spend money right away. I say this being guilty of it myself, at least a little bit. I am an owner of Renegade. But at least it has clear disadvantages so I was okay with buying it.
Can completely agree, as long as we are buying those tanks it's not going to stop. We are telling them ourselves that it sells good so it's a good idea to put in more cause... money. And the Iron Arnie and BZ-176 are a complete mess too, everything has more and more armor and less weak spots than ever...
people should have voted long time ago to close the wallets so wg would remove artillery early, that way ebrs wouldn't exist and game would not be pay to win. sigh

Dude, there's no "beginning of the end." We've been saying the exact same thing for like what, five years now? WG don't care. Some players quit, most of them come back eventually and for every permanent quitter there's a new player. WG has NO competitor on the market. Nada. Nothing. And the addicts need their crack. They know it hurts them. They know WG keeps cutting it worse and worse. But when the craving comes, we all come back for our dose.
I quit a few years ago (whenever the 268v4 completely broke CW's) I had been wanting to quit for a while at that point due to things like the 252u defender, medium turret armour buffs but finally having 20-28 268v4's in every single game slapped me hard enough to quit. Booted the game up the other day for shits and giggles and boy did I giggle at the state of the game... whilst I was in the game I took a look at my friends list and most of my old friends and omni clanmates, some of whom went to fame, meme etc. all hadn't been on the game for 2 months, 3 months, 4+ etc.
That tells a story when a significant percentage of the best players in the game (who aren't youtubers making money off of it) are all quitting the game, it shows the game is going in the wrong direction and alienating it's biggest fans (the people who actually research the game and learn all the nuances of it and want to contribute to the health and balance of the game)
Catering to those who don't care about health and balance gets WG a bigger paycheck in a shorter amount of time though...

@@sparky1595 Agh for a lot of folk its not even the game state, just life hits you and then you gotta re-prioritize. I havent played in years until 2 weeks ago but i still see plenty of folk still online from a few years ago. The thing is with newer people.. so many want to play competitively for rewards etc but to get the needed tanks the MM sees to it that you will feel pain from frustration grinding up the tank lines and rebalancing when you get there even if you spend money.
I dont care much anymore as i've finished nearly all tank lines to where i want.
I can enjoy the odd good game where the match up is fairly good, and laugh at people going mad in chat getting stomped... its sad the chat isnt open anymore it made the competition more fierce but except when ppl try get personal... lots of emo ppl with all this frustration
@@DiSHTiX If it wasn't the state of the game these people would still be playing, even if it was just not quite as much. I knew many of them for 3-4 years+ and still keep in touch with some of them, the sheer state of the gameplay is the issue and these are people like me who were OMNI and some moved on to FAME and other top clans. You don't get a top level player abandonment like that unless there are core gameplay issues

As a free to play player, this is just ridiculous... even the downsides of this tank don't really seem like downsides. It's true that from your perspective as a super unicorn it would be annoying not being able to snipe and doing less avg damage.. but what about newbs with 1k battle only who buy this tank and they go yolo on experienced players like myself in our tech tree tanks, we stand no chance and these noobs would think they re playing well...
Wargaming trying not to make op tier 8 premium challenge impossible
at this point i just gave up. In my first battle after i downloaded the update i got literally five viperas and three smc 56 in enemy team, and while playing a 252u on gold i could not do anything with my accuracy. I have decided to get off world of tanks till october so maybe these tanks will get nerfed or if even not, there will me less of them. After 9 years of playing and supporting WG financially im considering leaving wot forever. Wot is digging their own grave, absolute masterpiece came down to disgusting p2w game.

Yeah... I met this thing in my 705 and I met a good player playing it..even though I ended up victorious...it was a really tough nut to crack ngl.. He angled really really good in it I actually sent him a gg message.. It's scary how op this thing can be in the hands of a good player
Been saying for years that WG fails to see that if they make a game that is fun, fair and balanced, players will voluntarily throw cash at them. But instead Wg chose to go the dark path of forcing spending to stay competitive. Because that's easier to do and there are enough idiots with big wallets.
tbh WG have to make money too , I quit wot and play war thunder for about 5 years ago but I still find Wot contents enjoy to watch.
Been in the grave long time for me, started with long breaks, now have had it unistalled for prob 1yr or so, can't remember when I played last. I'll check in now and then, watch some CC's latest vids and such.
same. the few cc videos i watch keep me away from installing and trying it out again. its just not what it used to be 5-6 years ago.
the entire minotauro line could just replace the rinoceronte line as the new heavies and i wouldn't bat an eye cause that's just how these "TDs" are, heavies just labelled as TDs

I actually had 3 year break from wot, downloaded the game back 3 days ago, gave it a chance and played 20 games, the game is still in the same shit situation as it was when i quit, people only spamming gold so armor doesnt matter and if you dont spam gold/use op premiums you are fucked. Will never come back, used to be my favorite game for many years.
WG be like: only way to balance an OP premium tank is to realease even more OP premium tank
now they will add something with 400mm penetration at tier 8 to balance Vipera

this game won't die because of this, because this has been happening for years now, but we keep forgetting how it was last time they released broken tank, so its just a everlasting circle with no end.
I've been playing this game for 10 years. They've always crossed the line, but this time they've crossed the line big time. This is simply unacceptable. Even the tier 7 has tier 9+ armor. End of story.

I would rather have seen the addition of the wheeled Italian TDs. They wouldn't be going EBR speed, but go maybe 60mph in a straight line, like an EBR without turbo mode. Plus, you could still give them the "DPM autoloader" mechanic but because of how squishy they are they'd be able to have better gun stats instead of them being fat tornvagns
Edit: also, assault TDs getting HT health like this is dumb. If you want the benefits that come with being armored AND having the inherent benefits of the TD class (namely pen and damage), then you need to sacrifice something

Notice how WG had the content creator bundles in the store to keep the big CCs from calling them out for releasing the most broken vehicles ever? The tier 10 hull down can only be penned by JPE 100 heat shells in one tiny spot with like 40% chance of pen??? The chieftain is easy to pen with those shells. Glad to see someone finally is seeing the same shit I am and actually saying something rather than coping their ass of. +1 sub, keep up the content!

At this point I actively want Wargaming to fail, not WoT, Wargaming. They are no longer worthy of this game and are ruining it. This does not go to all the employees just doing their job, but for greedy executives. This is my most played game ever and I am infuriated, that is why I'm going to stop before I say something really mean.
WG management: Profits are down this quarter, we need a new tier 8 premium. Any ideas?
WG devs: Let's make it a TD, because people are tired of heavies.
Management: Okay, sounds good. What will make this different from other tier 8 TDs?
Devs: Well we'll give it a turret with ridiculously thick armor and no weakspots. Oh and 10 degrees of gun depression.

if they put bigger coupler, weaker middle lower plate on the tank and gave it like +7 km/h mobility boost it would be quite fun IMO and still very strong premium tank

Vipera was introduced as a perfect Caliban food. He maybe smacks you once for 440, you smack him twice for 600, totaling your damage on 1200. Easy. If fact, you can just right click him.

If WG could introduce a mechanic for MM where you can only fight against your tier, there would be less balance work between tanks since you only fight against your tier. Plus, it would push more people into tier 10 and cause less frustration for the guys who are still at the bottom of the roster. Afterwards, it's not said that all the players adhere but we would be closer to a game where the skill is more important than the tank.
Wargaming is leading the game to be a pay to win game. I miss the wot in the past when not lots of prem tanks and hull down beast to lead the game in victory. Therefore, each tanks have the different characteristics to go to the different places to do the things what they should do. Then the prem account, the strong prem tanks show of which ruin the fun and bring lots of id ot to the game makes it unplayable. Its not all about skills but money. Bring me back the old ver of wot.

7:50 You captured the frustration I have and other players as well, that shell supposedly hits your tanks but no visible damage. I would like to the team of WOT implements a shell camera like they did in WOWS so when you press a button the camera follows the last shell fired, also in replay mod.

Everybody keeps talking about “worried about WoT futur” or “the game is gonna lose its players” but the reality is WoT player count has never been this high before and by the amount of player that own the BZ, I would say it has never been this profitable before too.

i find the sides and engine deck easy to pen, I don't have too many problems facing these unless they are in a stubborn hull down position

Maybe very good players are op in this, but I don't mind facing the vipera.
If they turn that enormous turret a slight bit you can put shells into the sides.
And I'm just waiting to drop an arty shell onto that roof.
WOT is a game wich would have such a bright future if the developers would JUST LISTEN! I mean it never really hit the mainstream so it still hasn't reached it's peak. But they would need to implement a respawn system and bigger maps/matches and Tanks of our modern time. Maybe a a complety new tier rank, with its own servers.... so people are interested again. Real Team-Deathmatch or Capture-the-Flag-matches with as many respawns as there is time. Keep it up maybe they will listen one day m8.

It's so fun to see the outcries of the tank being op and easily squishing it with my 122mm 50tp prototype with shots in the upper turret. The sides are squishy, the turret is as well. Also bought the vipera, but obviously it is actually a lot weaker than the 50tp prototype. That turret at least successfully bounces shots instead of scaring low tiers only. Everybody loads premium Ammo or shoots at your massive turret weakspots, some may flank you and once you're alone you get squished :'D

If you were guaranteed to hit the weakspots, they wouldn't be weakspots, but I get the point and am just commenting for the algorithm's sake.
The main reason its released OP is to sell fast then after the sale reaching its peak WG will nerf this.
@Kajzoo:You are right with your opinion, WG has to nerf this tanks, but watch all the other premiums, which are also unfair. Best example for that is this ELC Even - camo rating is way to high. Other scout's have to go in proxy with him - otherwise no chance to spot the Even and the alphadamage is to high. ELC Even need's only 2 clips to take out an Tier 8. Watch AMX 13 57 - the clipreload and the intraclipreload are way to fast.
Both of the tank also team dependent, in the right hand it will wreck havoc, in other hand it's not doing very well due to high skill ceiling.

Hey I have a new tech tree idea it’ll be some Eastern European country and the tanks will be heavies that have random spaced armor everywhere and a 4 round auto-re-loader with 750 alpha. It’s top speed will be 70km and have autobounce angles on the sides and rear. It’ll be called the THT. VZ. TVP. CS STRV MLE 55.
I honestly don't want to come back to this game after I learned about the new tanks they are adding
Registered in 2013, came back to the game 3 months ago after a 4 years long break. I'm still grinding my first tier VIII tank pretty much without premium rounds or tanks because I don't have a huge wallet. Seeing how my Skill/RNG/Gun is struggling to compete with normal tier VIIIs without gold already, this tank might be the "motivation killer" for me and many players like me, I've considered buying a premium or two, but I don't think I'm going to. WG is effectively killing a decent portion of their player base because if this tank is going to crap on me every match when I literally can't fight back I'd rather quit the game than try to find a way around it, which would be impossible because this thing can literally go anywhere, face you frontally and you're done. I'll stick around with the game for a little longer to see how bad it's going to be, if I'm going to see this joke every match that's a hard no from me and probably many more players.
That nerf reminds me of Riot games when players were complaining about Irelia being broken. They nerfed her movement speed by 5%. I hate these alibi nerfs companys are doing so the "nerf" shows up in patch notes and they hope people just don't look further into it
I can see what they were going for, a hull down God that trades weak spots for a random 25+ second reload for the clip. They probably intend people to read the reloads and try to flank (not full rotating turret and sides are flat and weak) but in 15v15 on WG maps there's just zero real opportunity to do that meanwhile they can still take advantage of the armor 24/7.
I think it can be balanced, but only by changing other parts of the game as a whole and not just the tank. Would solve a lot of other issues with the Cobra and other big heavies too....
this tank was literally desinged for red tomato players so they can feel good playing like they do in their OP low tier tanks.

WG started digging their own grave years ago, this is nothing new... the 252u was a tank that made the is3 obsolete overnight in competitive play and was almost invulnerable to lower tier tanks in randoms? When they buffed the turret armour of almost every medium in the game, especially those with gun depression so they could sit and tank hull down? (30b, AX, STB, removing the 140's overmatch weak point) the 268v4 fiasco, the 279, the Chieftain hybrid.
I stopped playing during the 268v4 fiasco when every clan battle consisted of a minimum of 10 268v4 per side. I played for OMNI and F15 and loved the game at it's peak and was very good at it, I played my first game since that 268v4 campaign a few days ago to see the state of the game first hand and it was just a boring, stale, armour and gold dominated camp fest. You run to the best position in a choke point, get there first and farm until enough gold ammo is spammed at you that your health is chipped away enough that you have to move (unless you're playing a newer op tank that is invulnerable to gold frontally too). Mediums play ridgelines with almost impunity due to their amour buff, tanks like the chieftain and minotauro do play them with impunity, there are far too many TD's per game making any aggressive play suicide, it's just so boring now...

I remember the day when the KV-1S was one-shooting people back to the garage, the US TD T-18 was causing havoc in low tiers ..... And when they changed those vehicles (KV-1S became the KV-85) everyone was yelling "WG will lose income, players etc." Well they re still here....

As you said at the end, premiums will sell just as well if they are fun, I bought the Primo Victoria when it released and it's been my favorite premium ever since, and as someone who also owns a Defender I can say that I enjoy the Primo so much more, I can't even remember the last time I took the Defender out for a game.
Don't buy the centurion 5/1 it's gun handling is awful
I agree if this line wasn't op and was just a e3 with a turret but had good weakspots that you can work around people would be more accepting like when wargaming added the Swedish tds

The game is base on cold war tank era and they basically put an M1 into the game lol

Hey kajzoo, do you think you can make a video in the future, in your opinion, showing in what circumstances it is better for a tank to have one of Improved Rotation Mechanism/GLD/Improved Aiming/Vert Stabs over the other gun handling related equipment, or a combination of two to three of them? For example, is it better for the Mino to take IRM over Improved Aiming? Thx in advance!
Why doesn't wargaming just release more premium tanks with interesting gimmicks that aren't op? For example the Caliban is fun to play, but noone is calling it overpowered. KV 5 can ram people for massive damage and it has weird but not OP armour. I also like the new upcoming tier IX french light tank that has 2 driving modes with diffrent amount of shells in the clip depending on the driving mode (idk if its gonna be premium but it's still interesting). I want to see more interesting tanks like that, not blatantly overpowered tier VIII premiums.
This tank could have been also a tank with an interesting gimmick, but they had do give it almost tier X armour for some reason 🙄
How many tables have they introduced now that are unpenable above the lower plate?????
The tech tree T8 TD is even better. 300 heat, better gun handling and a bond turbo built in in comparison to vipera
WG knows this game is done for so they’re just trying to milk it as much as possible before it dies
I have vipera, met other vipera in hulldown, we just sit there look each other lol
Right now me and my friend just platoon tier8(myself in a 101 and he in a rhm) to go HT line every game and attempt to balance these Italian TDs given that both of these tanks have pretty good penetration even at tier10(340pen balance :>), and currently it works out pretty well lol... If both pen we can take a vipera out(the ones that don't care to slap hp boost on it) with a single shot, and remains pretty effective against tier7-8 tech tree Italian TDs too(tier9 only can be countered if its in a side scrap/not so steep hull down position or the it having the stock turret, but tier10... nah just forget about it)
