    Love your podcasts and your dyeing of yarn is fabulous. I have been away on a farm and it was fabulous. I went walking amongst the cows and
    calves one of which was white with a rich brown. Pure bliss bring there at Meijersrust In De Rust. Take care ❤😊

    If you put a scented bar of soap in a small organza bag in your project bag it will give a nice scent to your yarn & hopefully dispell the smell you don't like.

    I think all your knits are fabulous, and I also think if you’ve found a pattern that is perfect- you need one in every colour …. And may be long sleeves😊

    I haven’t been very good at keeping up with your podcasts. It’s been a crazy summer, but I will go back and catch up with them at some point as I really enjoy your visits.
    The problem with picking out a project for a week at a time is that there are only 52 weeks in a year. With 40+ projects it could take years to finish. 😂

    I love ALL the Rocket tees. I want to cast on one but I don’t want to do the eyelet thing as I feel it’s just poorly written for a dolt like myself. 😂. If you could share how you do yours now, it would be wonderful! Because as I stated earlier, I’m a dolt.
    You’ve been busy. I have too, but somehow I still haven’t much to show for all the knitting time. ❤. Love you!

    • @MousesMakes
      @MousesMakes  27 днів тому +1

      It's very simple Karen! Where it says to yarn over, I substitute a lifted increase. A left leaning one before the marker, slip marker, knit one, right leaning increase.
      And then on the body, either knit with no increases, or for some A line shaping, increase either side of the markers for the sides in the same way, every 10 rows til you have as many extra stitches as you want xx

    • @nefraial
      @nefraial 26 днів тому +1

      Please don't be so hard on yourself Karen. We're all dolts here.
      Cast on a Rock It Tee and do your own increases. It really is an easy stocking stitch pattern that you can adjust to be your own. Useful for its stitch counts. I made a summer one without the yarn over eyelets using a 4 thread cotton, which was notoriously difficult to do M1L or M1R out of, so simply did a backwards loop cast on at the relevant points. It turned out a favourite tee. Give it a go. You're the boss of your knitting.
      BTW. You don't have to have finished anything to have something to show. We're here (well I am) for the interaction. There's no "have to" when it comes to your own creation bar the restraints you put on yourself.

    • @MousesMakes
      @MousesMakes  26 днів тому

      @nefraial that's interesting 🤔 this latest one I'm k sitting in the purple is a 4 thread cotton yarn and I've had no trouble at all with m1l and m1r. Maybe down too needles?

    • @nefraial
      @nefraial 26 днів тому

      @@MousesMakes The needles I used were a diameter that got me the fabric I liked in a previous project. Perhaps I could have purchased and tried a different brand of needle but there's no guarantee that would make things better, so I used what I had already gotten good fabric results with. I also had the benefit of the gauge I got in the previous project to let me know which size/stitch count to follow in the Rock It Tee.
      My cotton was also more rustic than the brand you are using, the threads having a slight halo being less plied, a bit more grippy and requiring smoothing along their lengths to keep them aligned.
      It is not that I could not make the M1L M1R, but I had issues with it being slower. The cotton tended to be tight doing them. Awkward to get my needle through without splitting threads. More movement. While I still had to be careful not to split threads when knitting (purling) through my cast on loop on the next row, I was knitting much faster and it gave me a fantastic result.
      A yarn over as in the pattern, that makes an eyelet when knit or purled, could be closed to remove the eyelet by knitting or purling it TBL. Twisting the YO stitch on the next row (I find this method a fiddle and particularly like to avoid PTBL when there's an easier way). Twisting the yarn to begin with in adding a backwards loop cast on then knitting or purling as normal makes exactly the same result. But it is very quick and easy to just put a loop on the needle and the flow of knitting or purling on the next row is not interrupted which means the knitting is not slowed down.
      I've successfully experimented and figured out how to use a backwards and forwards cast on loop to achieve identical results to a M1L and M1R, but a simple backwards loop cast on will replace any YO a pattern has for an eyelet if you're happy to give the eyelets a miss and just want an easy increase. BLCO also prevents issues if using a yarn where a YO may like to slip over stitches or slip off to confuse your knitting.

    When you start knitting or crocheting something after a long time do you have to recheck your gauge?

    • @MousesMakes
      @MousesMakes  26 днів тому

      Nope. I knit so much and have been knitting so long that my gauge doesn't change. As far as crochet goes, I can't figure out gauge yet, so I just carry on and hope lol!
