Pure jam from the 90s! The funky feeling switched from the 80s to a 90s rap revival rendered as a tribute to the positive attitude of the first years of the 80s; from 80 to 83; 84 was a turn towards the more pessimistic, more industrial new wave sound sometimes bordering on cynicism but also same time delivering more committed songs.
What a good mood gives this song!

In the top 10 global hip hop of the 90s! I remember at that time absolutely no one could sit still with this song in the nightclubs .... no one! I also remember having met 3 American students on vacation in Paris and when they heard this music for the first time they had their eyes wide open and said to me "What is this bomb??? We absolutely want the CD!!"
They bought several but once back in the USA they sent me money and asked me to send them about thirty other CDs for their friends and I gladly did ... ^^
About two months later, they told me that the album was in the hip record stores on the west coast and that it was popular with disc jockeys for several months ....

Allaince Ethnik was a pretty commercial project that did not have much influence after this track, but it was produced by Crazy B who was one of the best DJs in the world, multiple time DMC champion for France, Europe, and worldwide. Today he is part of Birdy Nam Nam, a pretty cool turntableists supergroup.

So good..it was good time
One of the better tracks from that time period. Perfect song for a school party on a hot summer night. But you need to hear it while standing outside of the building (with slightly damped sound)...while watching the stars.

@@davozor9581 je sais tkt. C'est moi qui ai proposé alliance et Solaar et toute une liste déja l'année dernière. Je sais que c'est similaire mais j'ouvre toujours à de nouveaux son car la magie de la musique c'est aussi de surprendre. Mc solaar et Alliance peuvent plaire à beaucoup de gens qui ne croyaient jamais pouvoir écouter du rap.
Un peu dommage si tu écoute pas certains de mes titres suggérés :)

Like the 80's, the 90's, it was the "good time"! We had fun, we danced, there was good music, groove, it was as rich musically as the 80's but in a different way.
Some 90's songs were "inspired" by those of the 80's and also 70's disco-funk.
This song "Respect" is the first single from their first album Simple Et Funky (Simple And Funky) released on January 28, 1995, ranked No. 2 for 4 weeks and sold 357,000 copies, certified gold record.
It has also been successful in Europe, especially with our Belgian friends in Wallonia, ranked no.1 in the Ultratop 50 Single.
For this title, the group Alliance Ethnik is inspired by the funk of the West Coast while the French hip-hop scene is inspired by that of New York.
The track contains "samples" of several American songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's that you mentioned in your video.
The female singer, Vinia Mojica, who is in the band I think is "guest" in this song (in another one too), she worked with the American group De La Soul, remember their song "Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey )" in 1991 which was often on radio and TV. I bought it as a single cassette at the time! The good times! Teenage memories. 😉
Their "follow up" is called Simple Et Funky (Simple And Funky) like the name of the album. If I remember correctly, it was a hit in the summer of 1995. The song was constantly looping on FM. Another "heady" title that also puts you in a good mood, joy, you'll love it!😊
There was also the third single "Honesty & Jalousie (Fais Un Choix Dans La Vie)": Honesty & Jalousy (Make A Choice In Life), featuring Vinia Mojica again, released at the end of the year.
