95% of whisky bars would be envious of what you have there! Awesome collection!
thank you don.
I love it! You could drink a different whiskey every day and not drink the same whiskey twice in the same year. Absolutely fantastic!
good point! hadn't thought of that!
My new life's goal is to have a room with nothing but whisky in it. Awesome stuff, man.
haha thanks Vazz!
Very interesting and varied collection, Scott. Thank you for taking us along
thank you Krishna.
Wow, 25 minutes of drooling...very nice collection Scott. Kudos for the 90% bottles open!!!
thanks sorin!
Great video Scott. I love that you went over every shelf and every bottle. Amazing collection 👌. Now we need to see Bart's and hope he puts as much time and detail into it. Cheers buddy 👍
thanks Krazee!
Very nice,... people look at me sideways because I have about thirty open bottles!
Some people see all those bottles and think "someone obviously has a problem", but of course the truth is that someone with a problem cannot amass such a collection because it would all go just as quick as they bought it.
we agree! thanks Offinthepines!
I’m seeing this episode late but thanks for sharing. Great collection!
Thanks for watching!
Hey Scott..as a whisky drinker and enthusiast that was brilliant..I love seeing other people's collections.fantastic compass box collection by the way..cheers my friend..when's Bart s coming..😁
thanks Peter, will have to check with Bart.
Wowow! Utterly fantastic collection, Scott! Lots of great sippin' on the shelves, cheers!
thanks Richie.
Wow can't be many better collections of Compass Box anywhere Scott, superb! And they are all open and being enjoyed.
thanks Ben!
It is different when you are serious and not screaming with your friend. Very good presentation indeed!
thanks Dylan, we like to bring both styles
Damn over 400 bottles. I thought my collection over 100 bottles was nice. Its great that you open them and share them with us. That doesn't even include the bottles that you drank. You have a very nice collection and I noticed that we share some bottles as well. Great review.
thanks for watching Keith!
Very nice collection, thank you for leting us in to your collection room!!!
thanks Luis.
Scott that's some collection you have there buddy and no doubt it's grown a fair bit since!
Great to see thanks for sharing - I have a few bottles added to my list now! 👍
its definitely grown, i now have almost two walls of whisky!
@@ScotchTestDummies that's just showing off! 🤣🥃
Awesome bottles 👏👏 I now have something to show the wife who thinks my 200 bottles are too many 😂😉🥃
haha thanks Kunaal.
And mine who thinks 3 is too many
Many thanks, Scott, for inviting us in to take a look at your fantastic collection! That's something to be especially proud of. And you've pretty much got something from every major whisky region - except Australia! When the muse takes you, have a "Captain Cook" at some of the material coming up from Down Under. You might be surprised. Cheers!
we do have Sullivans Cove but its at Barts!
After watching this my collection feels inadequate as do my arms. I’m going to be doing some curls now and triceps extensions. Tomorrow I’m playing the lottery so I can buy some nice Scotches. Ha ha. Love this video! Thanks for taking us to what heaven would look like. My God that is one epic collection.
haha! thanks Dean on all levels!
Just seems like yesterday I watched the construction video of how you built that first shelf, got some good drinks there. Cheers.
they fill up quick! thanks snearson.
What a great collection. Loved that you took extra time for each bottle.
thanks Luis!
Not even 1 bottle of Ben nevis ?
I’ve only got 136 bottles... looks like I need to go shopping! I’m looking to expand my Japanese, Canadian and Irish collection. But I may hold off on Ireland and buy directly from the distillery when I visit.
the #'s grow fast on us Erik!
Such a nice collection.
I also have some few collection of good whiskey. I have..
Dalwhinnie 15, Johnnie Walker green level 15, Clynelish 14, Craigellachie 13, Cardhu 12, Glenmorangie Lasanta 12, Glenkinchie 12, Ardbeg 10, Paul John Brilliance, Amrut sherry cask, Monkey shoulder. 🥃
👍
Happy 50th Scott! Great collection ... enjoy drinking and sharing it ... Slainte!
thanks Silver Loch
Great collection wow not sure why anyone would thumb down ? Thank you
Good question! thanks Tommy!
It's cool to see so many bottles open. I don't see much point in a liqueur collection that you never get to taste.
My thoughts exactly
Nice mate going to do my small collection video soon 👍👍
Cool 👍
Wow. So awesome you shared your collection. It’s amazing!
thanks for watching!
My kind of whisky man 😊 big selection with open bottles . A true collector 🙏🏻
thanks Oyvind!
Great collection!!! Great to see so many open
absolutely, thanks Paul.
Orphan Barrel: The Gifted Horse was one of those "epiphany pours" at a bar and have never even seen a bottle again until your video. Enjoy a dram for me!
we reviewed it, it was one that was great neat or maybe with a drop of water, but don't add too much water or it broke down.
Amazing collection, thanks for giving us the tour.
thanks nytjs78
Great behind the scenes. I have been wanted to browse the shelf for a while.
thanks Captain
You have a lot of cool bottles in your collection. Impressive.
Thank you kindly
Great collection Scott! Thanks for the walk through. Cheers!🥃👍🇺🇸
thank you Press Man.
Happy Birthday Scott!!! Best wishes!!!
thanks rostislav!
Now that is a collection buddy! Love the video and tour around your collection. Cheers!
thanks guys!
Amazing collection Scott! Inspirational. Working on mine 👌🏽👍🏽
thanks Spencer.
I just keep killing my bottles once I open them! How you can keep from drinking them is beyond me...Beautiful collection.
buy a new bottle or two every week and you can't keep up!
Awesome collection. Mines just nudged over the 100 bottle mark. Have you considered using a Argon spray (Ralfy recommended) for the bottles you’re not going to get to for a while?
woot finally!!! great to see you and your collection..
thanks Erik!
Happy belated Sir! Thanks for sharing.
thanks SDD.
Impressive little collection, there, Scott! I have had many of them, but they are largely emptied and gone now... I didn't see a lot of Canadian examples... It's time to remedy tHat!
thanks Quig, i only had a couple Canadians on a mixed shelf which I cut out to save some time.
@foodquig he did show a Canadian whiskey. Didn't you see the Whistle Pig? 🐖 😉
Nobody puts Springbank in the corner.... 😂
haha thanks Mendip!
thank you for your video Scott. I'm from Scotland and looking to expand my whisky collection. I currently have got 5 bottles of whisky. All of them are Scotch but looking at expanding my whisky tastes further and discovering more Scotch and different world whiskies as well.
also wanted to ask. how do you drink whiskies like Jack Daniel's and Jim Beam? do you drink them straight or with something like coca cola?
We drink straight or with a bit of water or ice. Nothing against cola however
awesome collection
Thanks Secret Sleepover!
Is there a shelf life once the bottle is opened? I just purchased 25 bottles for $2100.00 just can’t imagine how much you spent.
thats the debate. there are many variables to that question.
Hey Scott do you periodically go through and tip the bottles to wet the corks? Or not worry about it?
don't worry about, but sometimes an older bottle thats been open for awhile will have the cork break.
I really like how you mixed your glassware in with your bottles really a nice touch, I might have to borrow that idea...
Nice Collection with good presentation and lighting too, like the variable height shelf to accommodate different bottle sizes, found it challenging with standard cabinets out there.
Thank you very much! l learned a couple things after the first shelving unit. Now its almost time to expand again!
How do you keep all these opened bottles from "going bad". Do you just prioritize drinking? Real question from an aspiring collector.
debate is out there about whiskey going bad. i've got bottles that have been opened 5+ years and are still good. Lot of variables though, cool/dark room, the higher the abv the better, the more in the bottle the better.
Considering I live about an hour's drive away from most of these distilleries, you have put me to shame! What a collection you have there! Enjoy!
thanks GMAC
Don't mean to be "that guy" but a couple small mistakes. You said the Balvenie Signature 12 predates the Double Wood 12, they were available at the same time, the Signature 12 being the latter release then it was discontinued after a few years, just before the 12yo Single Barrel was released. Also you called the Jameson Caskmates a Rye edition and it was the IPA. A very good video with a wealth of knowledge. My collection is currently at 272 but a lot of those are multiples of favorites from various years with about half being different.
thanks for the pointers! I"m surprised thats all i got wrong! thanks jimidrammer!
Impressive Compass Box collection
Great bottles. I bet you like compass box and macallan more. I love it..cheers
two of my favorites!
Wow. Thank you for sharing your collection. Hopefully Bart will do the same. Cheers
thanks Uh, Mike.
So normal UV light isn’t good for whiskys. What about LED light. Has anyone looked into that?
LED shouldn't hurt whisky, not sure if there's actually been any tests run or not.
I thought my compass box collection was impressive...very nice sir
Thanks Joseph, still growing...I've added a couple since this video even.
@@ScotchTestDummies Waiting on the new magic cask..have been able to get a bottle of The Last Vatted Malt..if I ever get a second will send you a sample...hope the taste buds make a full recovery
great collection Scott, would be interested to know what you and Bart would list as your all time top 3 in the categories Scotch, Irish and American whiskeys (no restrictions just anything you have tried) Slainte
thanks David, interesting question...
Great video on an outstanding collection.
thanks Guy.
Happy 50th Sir!)
thank you Nazar!
That is a wonderful humungous collection of whiskies. I'm a beginner on 85 unopened bottles. A few more duicates that are open or to be opened. 83 are Scottish, 1 Irish, and 1 Welsh whisky.
The Welsh whisky is called Penderyn, it's slightly peaty, and goes down very nicely. I drank quire a few wee drams with ( sounds like a beginning of a joke), an American, a Welshman and I a Scotsman at a wedding in Wales. Anyway I highly recommend it. Also if you can get your hands on it in the States, try to get hold of the Scottish whisky Tamnavulin, that is also really nice. That and Aberlour are my go to drinks.
I really enjoyed your video and I've subscribed to it, I look forward to many more.
A big thanks for putting your collection online to see.
Andy
Great comment and sounds like you've got a pretty good start! Thanks Andy!
85 is a solid start!
Cheers guys, since 2 years ago it's now up to 220 different whiskies. Little did I know then it would gain momentum.
Amazing bottles Scott!
Guess I need to visit you some time in the future XD
no promises!
Great collection. I noticed there were no brandy. Being a sherry Scotch fan I found Brandy to be a great alternative and many times a better deal. Cooper and Kings makes some outstanding cask strength brandy for very good prices. And a 25 year old Armagnac goes for $70
Steve, I agree and have a single barrel Copper & Kings American brandy finished in bourbon barrels. And a Delord 25 yr Armagnac. Both have amazing flavors.
i shortened the video up. i cut out a section i had on my odds and end bottles.
I miss some kavalan solist whisky. It’s amazing😁.
i've had a couple samples and agree!
Heavenly overrated and over-priced
Dram Stroker it’s a matter of taste. i think its one of the better whisky’s i’ve had. They cost about €100,- so thats a fair price.
Hi Scott. You have a truly great collection BUT I did not see one of the most iconic sherry matured whiskies ever made - Glengoyne Teapot Dram!
only had a sample of that magnificent whisky.
There is no bad bourbon, there are cheap bourbon's, but the worst bourbon i ever had was good, and in fact I've had cheap that was better than top shelf, it's all about the corn 🌽👍
i've had a couple bad ones. too many new craft distilleries pushing stuff out too soon. but 99% are good! thanks Alan
@@ScotchTestDummies yes i do agree with that I've had a few that i definately won't be partaking in again 😆, i guess i should say you have to go out of your way to find something really bad but there out there your right, and no prob👍
Well done Scott, thank you for taking time and sharing👍
How long did it take you to collect it all may I ask?
pretty much the six years we've been doing the show.
@@ScotchTestDummies You guys rock, big fan of the show. Slàinte from Manchester 🍻
Wow! That’s a huge collection, and you can easily find bottles. I’m probably up to 200+ now. Glad to see you are using a Canon DSLR. I upgraded to the EOS 90D this Christmas. Cool Shure mic mixer.
i've got a Canon and we use a Sony at Bart's for filming.
Scotch Test Dummies The new 90 D does 4K at 30 FPS. It can also do full HD in high dynamic range (HDR) at 30 FPS and HD at 120 FPS. Big upgrade from my EOS T3i from nine years ago.😊
Great collection.
Question.
Would the collection fall under a home owners insurance, or do you have separate policy for the collection alone.
I do not as the only thing to get insurance on would be the unopened bottles, and i don't really have enough of those to worry about.
Thanks you.
Enjoying all the reviews.
Nice. Glad that most of your bottles are open and have been enjoyed. How many years have you been collecting?
we've been doing the show for just over 6 years now, and would only have a few bottles on hand before that.
Amazing collection Scott. I'm new to your channel but I'm enjoying it a lot. (You can thank Foodquig for pointing me your way)
thanks Barry and thanks to Quig!
Very nice Scott! I think I’m at par with your Compass Box collection. Can’t seem to find that The General!!! I have yet to purchase the Myth’s & Legends, but hopefully soon. I never did pick The Orangerie, Transistor or Whisky De Table as I’m not sure they made it over to this side of the pond (well the Orangerie has).
i had a General but we drank it. Should have bought two.
hey scott. do you use wine preserver spray or any sort of gas in order to help preserve the whiskey in open bottles from oxidation? I have noticed some deminishing returns from open bottles after a few years, and started using enert gas in order to help get some of that oxygen out of the bottle before recorking. Wondering if you have any sort of system. thanks!
I do not Martin. I've only had problems with a couple bottles and they were both peated whiskies that only had a couple ounces left in them. We're actually doing a long term gassing test on our channel. I think we've had 3 annual looks and the fourth coming up.
Nice collection 👌. You can be proud of👍
thanks Cask Strength!
Good stuff!
Thanks for the visit
I keep getting to about four and it all depletes… I’m about to just collect bottles.
there's a market for those too!
0.38 - nuff said :)
that did kind of wrap it up!
compass box... is there any brand that does better labels? and the whisky ain't half bad either :-). Brilliant collection Scott! Great to see such an exhaustive collection with so many open bottles!
agreed on Compass Box, thanks malty mission.
St. George's Baller has the coolest label. Has St. George imagined as a samurai and a Japanese style dragon.
Very nice collection. I am not even close to 400 bottles.
just give it some time!
Excellent collection brother.
thanks RPT!
heavenly place )))
haha thanks Borislav!
impressive collection...
thanks Travis.
Wow! Nice collection, but some of ‘em getting a little low. You could have Roy stay at your house for a week and then do the best recycled review ever (but then you’d be down to 200 bottles again). Thanks for the tour.
i do need to finish some of them off, make more room
What fire suppression system do you have for that room? Love seeing your collection, makes me feel good not having as many as you do.
haha! no fire suppression system yet!
Beautiful Collection Scott! Looks like your well on your way to catch to Liquorhounds 2800 bottle collection someday!
thats a few years down the road...
First, LiquorHound doesn’t have 2800 whiskies...he is well respected because of his collection VARIANTS, meaning he has bottles from ALL liquor types, including Cognac, Armagnac, rum, tequila, vodka, bitters, liqueurs, and of course, whiskies, among many others. If you want to see a real collection, where EVERY bottle of whisky/whiskey was purchased by the same guy, check out Derek Mather’s setup, at his restaurant, ARTISAN. He has a backup copy at his house, too.
Second, have you heard of PATREON? Well, so have the dumb-asses. So, before you jump too high and give complete credit to this fraud, keep in mind who is ALSO buying these whiskies, and just who is sending them on their distillery world tours.

@@theinvincibleironman3736 Cool. Thanks for the great Info! I'm going to check that out...Slainte'
Hi Scott.. did u try all the open bottles, if yes then how u decide which one u wannabe drink on a particular day
oh yes, if they're open I've tried them. most have been reviewed on our channel. thats what i like with having so many is i can go look and say "what do I feel like drinking tonight?" sometimes its a bourbon, sometimes a scotch
It's crazy, l don't now how much all that cost, here in Ireland it would be like new Mercedes s- class ,,where that money come from guys?? 🤔😁 congratulations...super nice collection..
Doing a show for 8 years…at the time of filming…your collection grows. You should see it now.
Nice collection Scott!
thanks bt1
Springbank 20y Single cask, wow!
Be a good boy and send me a sample, Scott!😄
it is a beauty! thanks Scotchgod.
My wife would kill me. . .
haha, we dont' want that!
My wife thinks that my meager 20 bottles is a lot! 😱🤯😱
Point out her 200 lipsticks and mascara's.
@@pimbech good point there. But it seems a bit dangerous. Lol
Unless you keep em closed... Then she will be happy
Hey Scott, are you worried about oxidation on the opened bottles? Do you use one of those wine preserver can spray? Thanks
we are actually doing a test with the wine preserver. going on our third year. we have videos posted of our annual reviews.
right now i'm not using any preserver on my open bottles and don't worry about it for the most part. i've really only noticed changes with peated whiskies after they're open for awhile and only have a small amount left in the bottle.
@@ScotchTestDummies thanks Scott
Amazing
Now lets see Bart's collection:)
If my dad would have had this in our house he and I would have both been screwed lol
haha, i assume no liability!
By the time I picked something out...the night would be over. Decisions ... Decisions...
I like to grab something different for every pour.
I have enjoyed trying to figure out which whiskies follow one another the best.
The only thing I have figured out so far is that once I pour an Islay,... it's Islay for the rest of the night because there's no going back.
@@StillLivinginthewoods This is great. I may try my hand at this friend. Thanks for the idea. I usually end with an Islay. Like you said, no going back. Lol.
agreed, great point.
thats the best part of it!
Nice collection Scott
thanks Jay!
Hey can you guys make some glencairns similar to your first ones with the Dummies on them ?
might do that again.
Great collection. But only 3 Ardbegs? I bet Bart has 3 shelves of Ardbeg...
that he does!
Scott, I'm just new to you guys on You Tube. Loved the video of your collection, but no Bushmills in the Irish section? For shame! ;) I can recommend the 10, Distillery Reserve 12, just picked up the 16, and have had a taste of the 21 ... all lovely stuff! :)
I have had the Bushmills 16. I should add some!
I don't think the 10 gets the love it deserves. Although it does sell well
Hell Yea of a collection!
thanks Whiskey Ace.
