The more I play with OneShot, the more I think this is the best drum app ever created. Brilliant thinking, unlimited flexibility, awesome use of multi-sampled, velocity layering and a reasonable price. Shouldn’t this make all other drum software vendors worried?
Wow! This is great. Folks don’t realize the multi-sample, velocity-layered approach if way more realistic than all the single sample players out there.
OneShot brings together some nifty things, and I'm trying the demo, but I'm having performance issues loading kits. Takes 3-5 seconds to load most of the acoustic kits and show the "Opening Preset" window. This makes it a slog to browse quickly and it's lot slower than expected on a Mac Studio M2 Ultra, especially relative to my experiences with XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2 and others that load kits with round-robins and a lot of multisamples in less than 1 seconds. Can anything be done to improve the responsiveness, maybe background streaming?
The same issue, loading presets on Windows takes 6 seconds, too slow, while loading on XLN Audio Additive Drums and Battery 4 only takes less than 1 second
This is a sorely misunderstood and underrated plugin absolutely amazing for finger drummers. It was between this and triaz for my drum vst purchase this back friday and after demoing both this won out easily. Yeah triaz can do a lot of different things but I have a bunch of drum plugins that cover most of that ground. This does something a bit more unique and does it really really well. Oneshot has legit made finger drumming 10x as fun and expressive.
Product itself: awesome. I have not tried a single preset yet. I needed a kit for a track so I though that let's build it in OneShot to try it out and everything made total sense :-) Usually it is other way around: I skim few presets and forget the plugin for a month or few before trying it next time. Did not have to learn how to use this one.
I really love what you guys have done here! I’d like to see if it’s possible to change the on-screen play surface to multi-touch pads in the next version.
Going to assume you can add non-percussion one shot samples in there as well which opens this plugin up even more. Saw the marimba pack and thought "what else can I throw in here". Wish all drum plugins had sequencers but you cant have everything. Bought the ALM Motto drum machine and im like "why dont all drum machines have a simple sequencer with parameter locks. Automatically makes it fun to program versus automation in a DAW or using a piano roll to program drums which I just dont do well.
I would really like the ability to trigger this from audio - I do a lot of drum replacement / augmentation when mixing - this would work well for that if I could trigger from audio track / level. I don't want to generate midi triggers from the audio first as that as is generally less effective / consistent in terms of timing / phase. it also missing polarity / phase switch at the moment?
Thanks for the video. Is there any way to save the imported samples (multiple) as a drum kit WITH all samples along w/o going to each slot and save the individual sample in user's folder?
A very interesting multisample drum sampler, well done!!! On top of its all, if you ever add the possibility of adding velocity modulation to different parameters of the sampler (e.g., amp attack and decay, sample start point, pitch env, etc.) for one shot samples (i.e., with a single sample layer) that would be a very appealing drum sampler in my book … along with the possibility of mapping and using an electronic hi-hat pedal foot controller to control the decay or opening of a hi-hat slot(s). Just a few wish list and suggestions for future updates! Again, great work ! It looks like a very promising drum sampler and multisample library so keep up the great work! ;)
Unfortunately the omission of velocity modulating the filter cut off or any parameter other than sample layer is a deal breaker. The more MIDI expression control the better.
@@Garflips Agreed! Why is it called "Oneshot" if it has multi-velocity kits? I think marketing-wise it was a very bad decision to name this plugin "Oneshot". You'll unfortunately lose a lot of potential customers this way, as many people will think this is just another 'oneshot-type' drum plugin like Polyplex or Triaz. Velocity layers (rather than round-robin sorting) on slots don't take anything away from the fact that those reproduced samples are "one-shot" in nature, i.e. single-hit, non-loopable, non-sustained, and with a decaying volume envelope, typical of percussion.
