Worked perfectly for me, how you have created the rib! A previous exercise let me think the resulting geometry is not good, but now when giving it a closer look, nothing seems wrong.
I have varied the rib thickness between 1 - 20mm, the outcome was always good- without any changes of the previously constructed rib line shape. Also, at a first glance I was tempted to believe the the rib command is nothing more than a regular protrusion process, albeit with the advantage of working with edges instead of faces. But as your exercise has shown me, that is not the case- The rib command is doing more than that.

very good video again. I forgot about the "rib" command. Thanks for the reminder

in the end rib is not alligned with the cylinder.. how can we do that ??

Thank you so much for watching the video. To answer your question, I am planning to publish a video about how to align the reb with the cylinder curve. Please wait for one of the coming videos. Thanks.

IMHO it is already aligned. Drawing a circle on top face of cylinder shows a tangent connection point between cylinder and straight edge of touching rib line.

hocam rib çizgilere bir eğri olarak bulunduğundan kapalı alan ancak kalınlık haline getirilebilir İşte bu alanın yansıma yönlerini biz kendimiz belirleyerek rib çizgisini kapalı alan haline getirmez isek rib çizgisi ni oluştururken hatalar ekrana geliyor ve bunu bizzat ben çizimlmerimdede yaşadım ama dediğim gibi kullanıcılar sizin gibi etli kısımlara 2-3mm girmek yerine sketch ekranında komutların olduğu kısımdaki projeck geometry komutunu kullanarak bir yansıma çizgisi yani convert çizgisi oluşturduklarında sıkıntı ortadan kalkacak ve rahatlıkla rib çizgisini rib çubuğu kalınlık verilebilen bir durum oluşturması gayet kolay hale gelmektedir kolay gelsin sizleri seviyorum

How did u get the rectangle length as 60 and how did u know u have to go 17 mm down on the top view? thank u

    • @drmseif
      @drmseif  2 роки тому

Thank you for watching the video. I don't recall a rectangle with a length 60. Just let me know at what time in the video. Concerning the 17 mm, the bottom of the left side base is 5 mm from the bottom of the central cylinder. The thickness of this base is 8 mm. hence the new plane will be in the middle of the base. ie, 5+4=9 from the bottom. Since the central cylinder length is 52 mm, the top plane is 52/2 = 26 mm from the bottom. The new plane will be 26 - 9 = 17 mm from the main top plane. I plan to provide a link for the draft sheet with all the dimensions by this weekend. Thanks and check again the video description this coming weekend.

When creating a circular or rectangular pattern the sketch I want to pattern is not asked for selection. Some how the selection window will not appear it directly shows the next window. So can you help me with that

Hello, I am not able to visualize the question. Either you can zoom with me or contact Solid Edge technical support. My understanding is that solid edge does not have this feature while you are at the sketch mode. My advise is to use the mirror command. Good luck.

@@drmseif thanks sir give me reply
My problem is in sketch mode circular pattern does not selected object and direct pattern only

I'm new to this drawing. How did you determine to set the 2nd horizontal plane at 17mm below the Mid plane? From the information on the drawing. 52-39=13+4=17 Then apply symmetry for a total of 8 thickness. Ok, Ok. I should just read the replies down below and not lose sleep!

hocam çizim güzel anlatımınız güzel benim bir sorum olacak size .rib çizgisini çizerken project geometry komutu ile her iki dairenin merkezini işaretlemiş olsaydınız rib çizgisini 2-3 mm daire merkezine doğru çizmenize gerek kalmayacak bunu yapın

çünkü rib çizgisinin convert edilmesi gerekir hangi yünde kapalı durum olmasını istiyorsak o yönde convert edilmesi gerekir kapalı bir alan gibi davranmasını sağlarız aksi halde eğri katı oluşumlarında eğrilerin merkez noktalarına rib çizgileri daima dik bir sanal görüntü verilmek zorunlulluğu vardır yoksa rib çizgisini katı hale getiremezsiniz

Hello. You have very nice and informative videos. Also the English is easy to understand. Because you're not a native speaker. How many times do you say OK? :-) A great help for our study would be a drawing of the part to download either as a PDF or at least a JPG. I for example stop the video and wonder how I would do it. Then I take a blank A4 paper, put it on the monitor and trace the part and the angles with fine marker strokes. Just wait until one day the paper tears :-) Then I go modelling. If I can't get it right, I'll watch your step by step video. Please keep up the great work you are doing for us. Petr from Czech Republic

Seriously??? Watch your video Dr. At ~13 minutes you state this should be "good enough." Really? For a technical, mechanical, or even an electronics drawing - "Good Enough"? Maybe for government. Eh? Seriously - NO!!! Your drafting is too sloppy and lax. When producing mechanical parts - for use - for production - and for OEM to Customer this is outrageous. We can't fudge and do "Good Enough." Parts have to be exacting and to print as designed so they will work in the field. Whew! I can't believe this...

Just to be kindly specific with an example. An Orthopedic surgeon installs your new knee. 1/4 to 1/2" off center. He's sloppy and does - Sure, "Good Enough." So, what? You are crooked, stand lopsided, your spine is out of alignment compensating for the bad knee placement. You suffer back, foot and head pains. Ah, "Good Enough." Or say the jetliner you take to pointless conferences - The designer drafting the turbine parts was your "Good Enough" student. Sure. Right? Nope! The turbine would shred itself or burnup - if it ran at all. "Good Enough." ??? Doctor? P.S. What is your Phd in??? I sadly stopped at a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and only lead producing parts on frivolous stuff like: CM, B2, C-17, F-18 and some other low grade things. But, I knew the need of 0.0001"-0.004" measurements, pretty well. I couldn't imagine or be allowed - "Good Enough." It Just Would Not Fly!
