      @@belgiumcomics2537 It's a polite way of saying they were officially reprimanded and put under tight scrutiny for the rest of their career plan.
      And no, I don't think you understand what he was saying. In a perfect world, yes, he would have done the right thing. But in this world, as a result of his whistleblowing (1) no one got fired or punished for their corruption, and (2) he got punished for reporting the crimes. So was it the right thing to do, if no good and only bad came of it? It's a systemic issue; collective action is what is needed, his whole point is that it is naïve to think that individual action does anything other than hurt the person trying to do "the right thing".

    • @neothaka
      @neothaka 5 місяців тому

      @@belgiumcomics2537usually if your performance is inadequate, you're essentially placed into a performance improvement state. Can take many forms, but the bottom line is you try to improve in areas your performance is deemed inadequate. If you are still unable to meet their standard, the company can let you go. You can see how this system is easily abused by companies to get employees to quit without having to fire them (which is costly and can't be done so easily).

AWCC Ltd (Australian Workforce Compliance Council Ltd) stated in its IR submission to DEWR as part of the public consulation on the wage-theft Act that there are no whistleblower protections for payroll or employees who blow the whistle on wage-theft. Until these are added to the bill, or another is created adding protections for public servants and ADF members, AWCC's position is clear. Do not blow the whistle for wage-theft if you work for Government or you may face prosecution.

    Prosecuting government whistleblowers like Assange and Snowden is a blatant example of injustice and terrible representation... Makes my blood boil how self-serving our public "representatives" are

      Is Assange unimpeachable to you? He states that reports of Russia's attempts to influence the 2016 election are nonsense. The notion that dozens of social media companies and left leaning media outlets have been leant on by the Democrats seems dubious at best.

    The most interesting thing about the McBride court case was his defence that he was serving the interests of the Australian people as a member of the defence force.
    This was rejected by the court.
    As a member of the defence force, he serves King Charles.
    I hope all Australians who sign up to serve in the military are aware they are not serving the Australian people, they serve a foreigner.
    They are risking their lives, and will die for King Charles. 3 Cheers for The King.

    Don't trust your government, military, or employer. A colleague of mine and myself, uncovered and exposed massive negligence and waste with our unit (a disconnected Command Team, abuse of government property, lack of standards compliance, and unprofessional behavior). We reported all this to our higher command, only for them to do a substandard investigation and come up with inconclusive results. For our actions, we were counseled for being disloyal and placed under investigation as a form or retaliation and intimidation. I think what happened was that others were either too afraid to speak up or were perfectly comfortable with wallowing in mediocrity, as the environment allowed them to phone in their efforts and treat the mission as a vacation.
