how do you make the beat sound kind of distorted like that. I could tell on the album that they mixed the beats in a different style because they could have made them sound cleaner but they chose not to.
There is always a difference between recording on a beat to do a song or just making beats.
Almost every mix and master service in music industry specially in hip hop, they prefer to re-mix the beat so the voice of the artist can fit better, so it’s not so disturbed in some frequency’s.
The original might sound like this cuz as I said: Beats without a singer or artist in general sound way different then released songs.

If u use FL just use the EQ thing when you click on the sound and go to the thing with boost. I know I explainedit really fucking bad
Turn off fruity limiter in the master channel and replace it with a fruity soft clipper. Also If you use fl11 or fl20 you can go to the 808s settings and turn up the boost knob.

@@biqq_boi8115 cut out 808 about 40%, then boost it 5-10%, you also have a knob named eq, put it about 50-70%, soft clipper on master, then let your 808 to reach -3 or 3 db. It will work, trust me
