It shows a lot of class and maturity when an automotive company properly honors its racing heritage, rather than ignoring it because of new trends that badly misrepresent motorsports as purely wasteful and glamorized excess from auto brands. We owe a tremendous amount to the contribution of automotive progress, safety, efficiency that come from motorsports. Never stop!

Truly a “took you long enough” moment. The LM55 been out since 2014. The Furai is even older than that. I hope it happens, more manufacturers in any type of racing will always benefit the fans & customers. For example, someone thought of some amazing technology to make their race car faster than their opponents and that technology eventually trickles down into our everyday cars. Competition forces you to get better.
VERY proud lifelong Mazda/Mazdaspeed owner - from the Shinka Rx-8 to the Protege5 to the Mazdaspeed 6 and now my 1st gen Mazdaspeed 3......PLEASE bring back fun, exciting and forward thinking vehicles. Love the new Cx-50/90 but we want exciting mechanical cars that go zoom zoom! (And vehicles with buttons and switches, not all this touchscreen nonsense 😊)

i watched that #62 rx-7 win many races and compete at the top of the class getting year end championship victory more than once i think???. such good memories at the tracks. i owned an 85 rx-7 for a good while and miss it.
When I was 19 years old I used to ride on a FC3… then time passes by I had a bunch of other type cars…
But now I would say I’m happy with my ND MX5 1.5L engine…
It’s not a rotary engine isn’t a powerhouse, but surely happy!!!

Yeah man… I had a MK1 cooper and also a Nissan Micra/March, you can tune and enjoy a little small car! I learn that not everything is just about humongous power…
And best all is you can drive daily and ND and go to the tracks for a delightful weekend!

Rotary engines are the greatest gift to the automotive world.
maybe for a race car, but for a regular road car they really are kind of junk. Guzzle fuel, burning oil and coolant all the time. I really don't get why anyone would want one in a road car that needs some sense of reliability.

@Patrick94GSR I thought Mazda was exploring making them as a generator for a hybrid. Rotaries as the sole power-plant don't really work but as a backup in a hybrid? Maybe?
@@djhero0071They have and are still researching on bringing it to possibly the Miata or the next RX model.
The only rotary they have (or had) right now is the MX-30, but the battery range is abysmal. The vehicle was only out for two or three years.
Bring MSR to North America and offer a manual trans with a better turbo engine for the 3 please!

There is/was a pub on Mulsanne straigth, and the story goes that when the 787b would drive by, it was so loud that it made that glasses hop on the table and they would constantly spill or fall over and break

Every single brand needs to do this. Brands are around due to the R&D involved in racing, which trickles down to consumer cars. Racing is core to the DNA the vast majority of the brands still alive. Imagine if MB and BMW had restoration programs and raced the DTM 190E and E30 Evo II and officially raced them..

Mazda and rotary engines is the reason I got obsessed with motorsports. This also led me to currently pursue my bachelor's in motorsport engineering at IUPUI. Hopefully in the future I'll get to work here🤞

Dear Mazda: I know the 3 replaced the Protege lineup, but please make the Protege line or something similar again 🙏🏻 The world needs more basic, affordable entry level cars. Nissan and Kia both have offerings below $20k, but I would so much rather have a Mazda if I could get a new one for similar cost ❤
Toyota sold the Mazda 2 under their own branding. Mazda had the CX-3. Neither were that long ago.

Just bring the 787B straight into HyperCard and watch it CRUSH modern P1...I have never seen it in real life but every single time I race it there is no question it will scream past anything thrown at it, modern or not..in fact f I am having a bad day I just SIM race it to get that angry hornets nest of wild banshees going and suddenly I feel good again!
Awesome Mazda! Make some more of these. I daily my Miata and wouldn't have it any other way.

Things that make you say "Hmmm." The next gen of Mazda enthusiasts want a rotary sports car, and a Mazdaspeed 3. At least one of these is not too much to ask for.
If they stopped wasting resources on the dismal CX70, they could have made it already.
Nowadays it seems like its all about what the 'companies' want us driving instead of what we want to drive at this point. if it doesn't float their boat, its gonna be a sunken ship forgotten in time. Now if they actually do pull through with a new direct-drive (manual) rotary powered car, you know, I'm hopping on board and retiring my 8. I know they won't so I can comfortably say it and it not hurt to say.
That's the thing. The CX-70 took no resources at all. It didn't need developing lol

I'm glad these cars are still being driven. Too many times these types of historically significant care remain stationary for years and years, which is ultimately BAD for the health of the cars ironically.

Please, take a page out of what Toyota is doing with Gazoo Racing. Keep MazdaSpeed alive and put a bit less focus on expensive and complicated luxury cars. A car or two with a raw engine-to-asphalt power transfer and a focus on driver experience rather than comfort will restore a TON of faith in the brand.
